I've taken 10 separate vehicles to Sunland Auto over the years for my family. Never been disappointed. What I like formost, or course is the utmost honesty is an industry that's plagued with deception. Second, is the diagnosis. Like goign to a doctor you need to have the proper diagnosis. They do this accurately and effectively every time and back it up. I've had issues reoccur and they are addressed immentelty and without charge. They also have solid intergity to not be salesy and tray and upsell. The you what needs to be done correctly. I find the price point to be a degree higher than other shops, but in the end its the old adage "You get what you pay for" and a trustworthy mechanic shop is well worth it. read more

Hands down, Sunland is THE BEST auto service I've been to...ever!!! Wonderful service from check-in to check-out. Scott (the owner) is very knowledgeable, personable, and professional. He takes the time to explain the work that he and his mechanics perform and seem to care about you and the health of ur vehicle. His prices are reasonable & the price that I was quoted for the work performed was exactly the price i paid! They were busy when I arrived at around 8am, but they were able to get me out the door within an hour! Also, I told Scott that my dealership told me that my brake system needed to be flushed. Sunland Auto checked it for me and told me it was fine & that my car was in optimum condition! They could've easily said that my brake system needed flushing & charged me, but they took the high road and gave me an honest assessment instead. The major oil leak of 2023 in our house. My daughter's car (Kia Soul) discovered on a Friday night...of course. Sunland got us in first thing Monday morning. I was unable to be there so was curious how it would go. They treated my wife and daughter with the utmost respect. New oil pan and she was back on the road by Monday afternoon. Great Service!!! I would take my vehicle here again. Took my vehicle in to have the rear main seal replaced. A few days later after getting it back from them, I notice fluid dripping from the same area that my rear main seal was leaking from. I took it back in to them so they could see why it was leaking again. Scott from Sunland, was kind enough to take time out of his busy day to reach out to me. He said he would be happy to look into it and take care of that leak for me. I feel he went above and beyond as an owner to get the leak fixed. DONT GO HERE! Honestly, very disappointed in my recent experience here. The owner helped me the first time and did an amazing job, so I decided to come back, but this time it was TERRIBLE. I was quoted full price for a part that I found out they were getting for almost half off and they didn't want to charge me the price they were getting the part for which was a difference of over $300. I asked if they'd be willing to charge me for the price the part is actually listed for and they left me waiting for a response for over an hour, until I finally called them back instead. Was charged almost $100 for them to waste my time and try to scam me. They also told me they charge $180/hr for labor which is the most I've ever seen anywhere and wouldn't recommend anyone to go here. I'm very distrustful of auto mechanics as a general rule and opt to do my own oil changes and whatever minor repairs I can, rather than deal with companies who see dollar signs whenever a woman brings in her car. In the fall of 2019, my 14 year old car's engine was trashed due to my former mechanic's poor workmanship that led to a broken timing belt. My brother's co-worker kindly towed my car to an auto shop that shall remain nameless, where my engine was replaced and performed well for about a year and a half. I first met the Sunland Auto Service crew in May of last year, when I wanted the transmission fluid in my car changed. I checked out the reviews on Yelp and messaged Sunland. I got a prompt response with estimate, and I had the work done. Scott impressed me with his honesty and integrity. Due to the laziness of the auto shop that replaced my engine (not changing the radiator hoses or ensuring that the cylinder heads were good, etc.), I have returned to Sunland Auto many times since. The crew at Sunland finished the final repairs to my engine on April 12, 2021, and gave me a ride to pick up my car. I had just started to leave the shop when an uninsured driver in a 2007 Jaguar slammed into the front end of my car, destroying the radiator that had just been replaced, as well as causing numerous other mechanical and cosmetic damages. Scott got the whole incident on video and let me copy it. The entire staff was very sympathetic about the situation, and Steve gave me a ride home that evening. Scott immediately started looking for replacement parts to get my car running again, and because it's doubtful that I will ever get a dime from the woman at fault, he has given me a massive discount on the work performed. I wish I could rate them on their service but I never got that far. I wanted to use them because they have a high Yelp rating, but once I got there it was impossible to find a place to park. I circled three times trying negotiate a place to put my car, but their small lot looks like a junk yard with cars packed in so tight and haphazard I almost got trapped. I would never want to leave my car in that lot where it looks like there's a 95% possibility it would get dented. That, plus my brief yet disappointing interactions with several of their employees which made it clear they couldn't care less if they got my business, made me decide to look elsewhere. read more

If I could give this place a 0 starts I would never go to this auto shop they don't care about your car or you as a costumer I spend 2k in this place and they treated my car if it was an off road car they Park the cars in some place that's full of rocks it's deep and they just floor the gas until the car gets stuck and damaged your car. Also if you have anything in the car be careful it might be stolen or damaged like they damage my dash camera they just pull it off damaging it and they admit it and the owner didn't do anything. Scott (owner) replaced the transmission in my 2016 Toyota Tacoma Jan 7, 2020 after the truck started having shift vibration issues. My family has been taking all our vehicles to Sunland for well over a decade now. They are legitimately the most honest and diligent mechanic shop you will ever find. I once had a car with transmission issues, and they had the integrity to upfront tell me I was likely better off shopping for a new vehicle rather than letting them do expensive repairs that may not even fix the issue. Their work is always reasonably priced, and if any issues arise after work is done they're always fantastic about getting you back in as soon as possible and following up on the issue relentlessly until it's fixed for good. I have a 2012 Chrystler 200. I was leased this car from a 3rd party shady guy who knew the internal computer in my car was going bad. 3 months after having my car, it started stalling randomly in traffic, at a light, on the highway, you name it. I went to 3 different mechanics who could not figure out what was wrong with my car, charging me for each wrong part that wasn't fixing the problem. It's hard to know who to trust, especially when moving to a new area. Well, a while after I moved to AZ, I needed to find an auto doctor. My SUV was starting to have a few things go screwy and I needed help. Cue: Sunland Auto on Broadway Rd in Mesa, AZ. Since 2015, my girl (a 2006 Nissan X-terra) has checked in there a few times and we've always had great work from them. She's is getting up there in the years but I love her and want to keep her as long as possible. Good thing I found Sunland. Tom and Scott always give me competitive quote prices (and can even sometimes find a refurbished part that works) and the guys in the garage take great care of my girl. They all assure me she has another 100k in her! I'm always driving back and forth between AZ and CA and when possible, I try to get her serviced at Sunland. Whether she has an actual issue or not, I like to get her checked out before big road trips. The guys are honest when she's doing ok and if she needs some work, they give me a time/date to pick her up (and always deliver on time). Had an A/C leak and a failing blower on my Ford F-250. I searched Yelp and saw that these guys had great reviews. Just as the reviews said, Scott answered my quote request after hours and within about 60 seconds after I sent it. He was able to get me into the shop the following Wednesday. I dropped my truck off in the morning and on Thursday morning, I got a call that it was ready. I couldn't be happier with these guys! I had some recall work done at the local Toyota dealer and as part of that they perform this multipoint vehicle inspection. So they present me with this list of things they recommend I fix. I had a right front inner leaking CV boot ($450), fuel injection decarbonization ($160), power steering flush ($140), and spark plugs ($150). This is my only car and I rely on it to drive 50 miles round trip to work during the week so I don't take repair issues lightly. I decided to do the spark plugs on my own since it's so easy on my car (Scion). For $29 and 20 minutes of my time I solved that issue. Based on the reviews on Yelp, I went into Sunland to see if they had a better deal on the CV boot. I didn't even mention the other issues as I couldn't even afford to fix the CV boot issue. Scott calls back and says the CV boot is fine. It's losing no more lubricant than any other CV boot on any other car. It wasn't torn at all. So there's nothing to do there. At this point I mention the other things the dealer told me. I wound up not needing them but Scott did recommend a transmission flush since my fluid was running black (I wonder how the dealer missed that?). I'm glad I stumbled onto this shop! It's so refreshing to find an honest mechanic who isn't trying to just add on a bunch of things to a repair bill (especially on an older car like mine). Total savings: $750.
