I'm new to Arizona, so I used yelp to find a good auto shop. This place had 93, 5-star ratings and nothing lower than that. I went to this shop asking that he diagnose what I believed to be transmission leak. They lived up to their online reputation. My last oil change at a local joint (see my other reviews) left me with an over-filled transmission and an oil plug that was not not screwed in properly. I lost 3 quarts of oil, but I was thinking I had a transmission leak because the oil change shop told me it was a half quart low. Scott was great. He drained the extra trans fluid and added 3 quarts of oil for $11 $11!!!! Are you kidding me?!? The oil alone cost that much! I brought my truck up after Scott gave me the good news at 2 PM and asked him for an oil change which he completed the same day for $31. I know a good man when I meet one. We found this garage through www.narpro.com (the Neighborhood Auto Repair Professionals Network) which in and of itself guarantees a straighforward, up-and-up business. However after several interactions with the professionals here, we give our seal of approval. First of all, at Sunland, they don't treat you like a dummy just because you are a woman. They take the time to explain things in simple enough terms for you to understand. They are honest about what is wrong and their prices are fair. If it doesn't need repair, they won't simply "find something" which is done at many other auto service centers. Today for example, I thought my car would need a new transmission when in fact it was just a loose part. The mechanic (Scott) simply put it back in place, tested to verify it ran well, and then sent me on my way. NO CHARGE for work not done. I expected to at least pay for labor but they didn't charge me for it. This morning I thought I'd have to purchase a new transmission at several thousand dollars, but instead walked away within a $31 bill for an oil change. Can you believe that in this day and age? Bob McLeod, the owner of this family business, is a pleasure to deal with, and has earned his 20+ year A+ accredited rating with the Better Business Bureau. All the reviews are true.. I'm blown away by this place. Took my car in late morning on a Friday and they were swamped. I wasn't in any hurry so I just told them to get to it when they could. Offered me a ride home. Got a call 2 hours later with my issues (new battery and brakes replaced) and he said it might be Monday before they could get it done. No worries. Got a call 2 hours later that my car was done! Picked up my car, paid the low price, and the owner walked me out to my car. He had me get in to see if they had reset my clock.. they hadn't so he did it himself! Even offered to reset all my radio stations. What a genuinely good guy! Thank you Tom and Scott and the mechanic who worked on my Lincoln MKZ. I took my car elsewhere first, because I live way out in Queen Creek and the diagnosis and price quote would have used most of my savings. I had used Sunland previously for my last car and my daughter has used them for years. She suggested I call and go get a second opinion from the Sunland crew. I was floored when they told me the repairs were quite a bit different from the previous diagnosis and they also let me know the repair cost would be $1300 less. They got me in a few days later and granted it did take all day to fix the car it was so very worth it! It runs great! I cannot say enough about Tom, Scott, Dave and the staff at Sunland Auto Service. I took my car there today having decided it was the cooling fan. They were fitting 5 days of business into a 4 day work week but got me in, were very thorough about the information I provided and gave me a ride home. Come to find out, it wasn't my fan at all, but was something that is covered under my auto warranty. I would have never thought, but they did the research and discovered this, let me know and now my car is on the way to the dealership and they came to pick me up from home to make that happen. I contacted Sunland and scheduled a time to take my SUV in to be looked at. Was sure that I need the front and rear struts replaced as the ride was beginning to suffer. Scott pointed out that only the rear was needed as the front were relatively newer (bought this SUV used). Work was completed in the timeframe he estimated at the price that was quoted. The ride is much more comfortable now. Overall this business had a friendly atmosphere and it appears they actually like their customers. I noticed several conversations between the staff and customers as it appears there is a lot of repeat business. Scott only has 1 Alignment rack available, so you may inquire prior to making the trip if is being occupied. Great communication and service overall. Nice ride service for customers within 5 or so miles. Courtesy RO water provided along for-pay vending machines containing snacks and drinks. Also, there is a Kuerig coffee machine for $.75 per cup as well. Waiting area is a bit small but appreciated, nonetheless. Check this place out for reasonable service for you vehicle. read more

These Guys Are Just Great! Honest, No-Nonsense, Quality Work, and Reasonable Prices. Yeah, I know, words you hear used a lot. But can one business offer all of these things? Yes, they can! Sunland Auto has to be one of the Top 10 automotive service and repair establishments in The Valley. Just look at the other reviews here. It's those Yelp five star reviews that brought me here in the first place. In The Valley of The Sun, summer is a time when you do not want to be without Air Conditioning. My vehicle was having issues and Sunland Auto was able to diagnose and fix my problems. My a/c had a Gremlin in the system somewhere. It would work intermittently and then it would just stop. On for two minutes and off for five minutes; more sweating than not sweating - Yuck! Summer was just not going to be any fun with my a/c not working. Not knowing what the problem was, I called them, was told that they service all types of vehicles, and I was able to make an appointment for the next day. When I arrived, the manager took care of me. I told him what was happening and what was not working, he took my information, I gave him the keys and, although I had transportation, he offered for their shuttle to take me to wherever I needed to go - nice touch! Within an hour of dropping the vehicle off, I received a call from them. They had tracked down the culprit, provided me with a diagnosis, and a total cost for the repairs. At that time, I asked them to check the brakes as they were also making a fuss. I was told that they had already looked things over and that the brakes were in need of new brake pads . . . it was like they had ESPN or something! They said they would look the rest of the vehicle over when they got into the repair job and note anything else that needed attention. Not only were they able to diagnose, call me and discuss options, order parts, receive and install the parts and perform the repairs, they did it in a timely manner. My appointment was for mid-morning and by early afternoon, my vehicle was done. I received another phone call recapping what was done and highlighting the minor items they found that would need attention in the future. I was told that I could get my vehicle anytime I wanted, again asking if I needed transportation. When I picked up my vehicle, they went over what was replaced, what parts were used and discussed the warranty on the replaced items. Further, they outlined the items that were worn, or starting to leak or might be a future potential problem - all of which could wait to be repaired or replaced. Really? When was that last time you were not upsold or pressured into doing a replacement? In fact, I kind of felt rejected when I asked if I should repair a couple of the items now . . . I was met with an "It is unnecessary, you are just wasting money, we will do it for you if you want, but it can wait, it is not a safety issue." That is the kind of honesty you just don't get much of these days - and it is refreshing. Again, these guys are just great. And my a/c issue? Well, let's just say I have never before had to turn the fan down on the a/c in 115° weather because I was too cold . . . but now I do! Thank You Sunland Auto! Amazing service even for an out of towner. I am a long time home mechanic and had looked at the scope of the project. I sent a Yelp request at about 6:30 am not expecting much. I had a reply by about 7:10 in the morning! I was a the shop by 7:30 or so. They took the car for a test drive and confirmed the problem which was a rear wheel bearing. The shuttle had me back where I was staying by 8am. The car was fixed by noon the same day and for LESS THAN THE ESTIMATE by $70! Even better they identified and addressed a few problems while they were working on it at no charge. The shop was prompt, professional and fair even knowing I live 700 miles away. Sunland Auto Service is the best repair facility that I have ever done business with. They do great work at a fair price. About a year and a half ago I went into a dealership who said my front brakes needed to be replaced. I took my car to Sunland to get their opinion, they said I had plenty of brake pad left. Finding honest mechanics is such a difficult task! I read a lot of great feedback which is what lead me to give Sunland Auto a chance, I even said that when I was in their lobby upon arrival... However, my experience while at Sunland wasn't in alignment to previous reviews. When I reached out for specific service charges for my vehicle I was asked for make and model. The owner Scott was super fast in responding which I thought was a great attribute for a small business, being a small business owner I truly appreciated that prompt attention. Scott said, "$32.22 out the door for full service oil change thank you Scott" When I get there I get a gentlemen that says your car calls for full synthetic and proceeds to tell me, 'what do I know, I'm not an engineer and don't get paid the big bucks, but that's what your car calls for.' I find it baffling that an employee quotes me more than 20.00 for the service when the owner who asked me specifically for my make and model quote is less... I didn't challenge the amount, I paid it but I feel it's just bad business for people to be mislead... I hope Scott takes into account of who is working for him, because if this person is cheating a lot of people out of hard earned money it could lead to some more bad reviews in the future.
