I already love Sunmerry so when I passed by this bakery in the mall, I had to stop by especially because they were handing out fresh warm egg tart samples. They have a special price on weekends for their egg tarts and the brown sugar boba egg tarts! I got 2 of these for $2.87!! The egg tarts were warm and has the perfect sweetness. 5/5 for the Vietnamese iced coffees! My husband and I had just gotten back from Vegas the day before and had a day off from work to recover. The coffee here hit AND was the perfect amount of stout coffee and sweet condensed milk. Some Vietnamese iced coffees can be too heavy on one of those flavors, but this one was the perfect mix. I feel like the product here is good. They can really clean and tighten up operations though. SERVICE Service is good for the most part but they aren't too organized when it comes to drink delivery. Drinks are made and then placed on the counter for pick up. Sometimes numbers are called. Sometimes only the drink name is called. Sometimes numbers are checked, sometimes they aren't. My order number was never called and someone who ordered after me ended up taking my drinks. I saw this happen to several others. All they had to do was print out labels with customer names and stick them on to the cups. I've noticed this issue at other locations as well. read more

was looking for a slice of cake while at the mall. sunmerry was the only option with something a kid would like. the bread option is really lacking. there were a couple cake slice options but they were all either missing labels or mislabeled. i requested a cake without a label but it looked to be a white cake with mango slices. the worker seemed to not even know what I was talking about, I had to point it out to him. he proceeded to grab the cake slice with his BARE HANDS. Tried this place for the first time a few days ago when we spent our day playing Pokémon Go for an event! Been wanting to try this place since we've been to this mall multiple times now but we just always have something else going on or we're already too full. It's similar to 85 Bakery where you just fill your tray with goods. They had a really nice drink selection and I was glad they had an iced latte that you can even add boba too! I went for the Hawaiian iced latte with boba and it was perfect. Drink was perfectly sweetened with the right amount of cream and coffee flavor. Their boba was a huge plus! I love boba so much and they had a really good chewiness so I approve! Cups also have the rounded bottoms which are super cute. We also got a strawberry custard cake thing which was so cold that it was like a vanilla ice cream! Super delicious. Only issue is the little wrapping paper it comes in. This Sunmerry is located inside the Santa Anita Mall and it's bright lighting, and array of trays for baked goods and boba drinks. From ordering to getting the boba, it was pretty quick, less than 10 minutes. We ordered the Taro boba with half ice and half sugar and it was delicious! I have heard raving compliments about any Sunmerry Bakery for a long time but never actually got to try any branch till today on Thursday, Oct/26/23. I finally decided to give them a shot today because I didn't get to bring my home lunch. Any ways, so this Taiwanese Bakery makes great pastries that are fresh. I tried their BBQ Bolo Bun (it's directly translated from Mandarin from the second word) right in my car. I actually ate the whole bun in the car ride from 'The Shops at Santa Anita,' Arcadia, CA. to Hastings Ranch, Pasadena, CA. I was gonna save half for my first break but that didn't happen. So, I also bought some pastries to share with a former coworker who has always been super helpful to me. Service was topnotch and efficient!!!! I was in and out of my first visit there within 20min, and I got to work on time. Also, the second visit within one day, I was in and out of it within 30 minutes and had told to browse around the mall. The only minor issue I had was with their Grapefruit Green Tea: that drink didn't work for me. But I'll still visit for other types of buns. This was my first trip to the Sunmerry location located in the Westfield Santa Anita mall. I had to buy a cake for my parents anniversary and I happen to be at the mall and this was the first place that I had in mind to stop by. I've been to other sunmerry stores but this was the first at this location. I didn't actually know where the shop is located so I had to do some research. After reading the reviews he said they are located on the second floor right next to the forever 21. Apart is how small the storefront is but they are very efficient with their displays and their products. People are very good about queuing up and getting line to select their pastries and then checking out. It looks like they're always constantly running different promotions and specials and they are displayed right on the TV screens long process and it's good that they are making aware what they have going on. I am getting a Boba cake that was a special item at the time and it was pleasantly delicious. I wasn't really sure what I was expecting but it actually far exceeded what I thought it was going to be. It almost tasted like their cream puffs in the best way possible. After I placed my order and paid, the really nice workers boxed up my cake and then called me over two see if I needed plates or anything additional. They were thoughtful and made sure to tell me to carry the box from the bottom and not only by the handle. I wondered if they didn't trust me but it was probably also if they've seen their fair share of guests fumble and drop cakes so I was very appreciative of the warning. read more

Me and my sister went to this play on Wednesday (Dec 18), we bought couple items, I ate one pudding that night, gave me stomach virus, and I didn't even doubt it was the pudding, until this morning I tryna eat some Japanese cheesecake, and I found a hair on it. Overall experience is pleasant. I was warm welcomed by their staff standing in the front. The staff asking me if I want to try their free almond cookies. Because I'm on a diet so I didn't try. This place has all the cute pastries like 85°C. I was in the mall to pick up goodies from Bearology (for a Yelp event) and happened to come across this bakery. I'm a sucker for sweets and cute things so I had to hold myself back from buying everything, lol! Prices are about the same as other bakeries with similar offerings. If I'm ever at this mall again, I'd definitely come by and get more stuff. I liked the brown sugar pudding but everything else was really good too. I'll have to try other items next time. First time to this Sunmerry and is was a bigger shop than I expected and of all places inside the mall! After walking around the mall and outside looking for a food place to eat I noticed people carrying these Sunmerry bags. I was like wait a minute?!? I didn't see any Sunmerry stores outside with all the other restaurants nor in the food court. Then there were more people carrying these bags. Behold a Sunmerry right across from Nordstrom, next to Forever21 on the top level. It's a nice open shop so you can just go in grab a pastry, drinks, or dessert and out you go. There maybe a line, but it keeps moving. Remember to start on the left side, that's where the trays are. As you move right you get to grab and choose the different pastries. By the time you get to the register you can order your drink, any cold refrigerated items, or even some bubble waffles. Yes, bubble waffles! To bad they aren't the filled ones with Mochi or Nutella. I've missed these from the 626 night market. Also I don't see any cakes... I was hoping to grab a slice of my favorite Strawberry cake. I'm already just kinda okay with Sunmerry (at least the one in RH), but I was immediately lured in by the prospects of mochi donuts (truly my sin). Stamp cards are only for drinks and there isn't any deal for the amount of donuts that you get. I got the peanut butter, strawberry, and matcha mochi donuts. They were pretty mid, not gonna lie. Texture was really chewy and aside from the icing on top the actual donut was pretty flavorless. With Mochinut in the area, I'd direct my mochi donut needs there. read more

I always leave satisfied from Sunmerry. -Customer service was incredible today. An employer restocking samples and the employee ringing my order were awesome! Without hesitation they assisted me with my purchase and helping me navigate the store. -Sunmerry is located on the second top floor of Santa Anita Mall in front of dairy queen around and across Forever 21 that is in the middle of the floor level. -Super busy on weekends! Best time to order with 0 line on weekends would be in the morning before 12pm! Long lines form afterwards! This location has no lines on weekdays. -They sell hot drinks, iced, and smoothies. They offer a variety of pastries including cake slices, cream puffs, bubble waffles, and so much more. -The strawberry shortcake smoothie was 5/10 the creme brûlée was overpowering and I tasted no strawberries ): ! Just an FYI. This is located inside the mall so it's like a free standing building. So their footprint in this location is TINY. So tiny. But from what I could see, they used up their space to make use of every single foot they had. With that being said... it was a little chaotic as there were 2 entrances to this location so people were just all over the place. If there was supposed to be a flow, they failed at that aspect. But the sweet breads they had were a good selection. I had their pork floss bread and it was delicious. I also got their Portuguese egg tarts and they were just ok but I'll take these tarts anytime I see them. :) I also got a passion fruit green tea and it had so much syrup in it that it was like drinking straight syrup. COVID-19: Social distancing is enforced at this establishment. All of the staff wears a mask. All customers are expected to wear a mask too. All of the staff also wears gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is open to customers at limited capacity. They are also sanitizing in between customers. While I was grabbing some baked goodies from this establishment today, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They also do not allow pets in their establishment. Parking: This bakery is located inside the Westfield Santa Anita mall. There are plenty of parking available during the pandemic. Prepandemic parking was hell. They need to make some underground parking garages or above ground parking garages to accommodate all of the people trying to shop at this mall. It sucked having to circle the lot for like 20 minutes just for a parking spot. Store: The store here is pretty big, clean, neat, and tidy. They honestly don't have a lot of options available, but that could possibly be due to the fact that I came here in the afternoon when most of the popular goodies were already sold. They probably didn't make any more bread in the afternoon because they are going to close soon. Oh well. Still pretty good. I got a red bean bread. It was pretty good. Food from a place i once visited in Japan, it's a very close version of MR. DONUT. But so close, now their service was top notch. I added something last second, they were kind. The circle donut was very close to the mochi kind from Japan. It's a good version, really do enjoy the yummies when you're in the good mood for a gentle sweet flavor, not to overwhelm you but to sooth you.
