4/5 stars, vegetarian options available: In all the years since this spot has been open, I haven't had the chance to dine in before, but it surely won't be my last. I've gotten Taiwanese egg crepes (蛋餅) to go, but since they stop making them after 10:30 am, we ended up ordering off their lunch menu, which was a pleasant surprise! I usually see older Asian aunties and families dine in the bakery, and I must say, they were all onto something. Somehow I discovered my favorite tofu pudding in the states was from this spot. The tofu tastes like real soybeans and had a thicker texture to it, opposed to the silky texture I'm used to. But the ginger sauce was super light and it came topped with sweet and softened peanuts. We also ordered the scallion pancakes cooked with eggs, and the vegetarian ham fried rice. I was worried the scallion pancakes would be too greasy, but instead of being deep fried, it was fluffy, lightly toasted on the pan and coated with egg. The vegetarian fried rice was also rather solid, and I didn't have any complaints! The staff was really nice, and cautioned against ordered too much for the two of us, which was honestly a great suggestion because I had no idea the serving size would be so large. JJ Bakery is kept clean, brightly lit, and the service was quick and pleasant. It really is a decent brunch option.

The viral mango or strawberry mochi is so good! I like the mango one better. It's filled with fresh, sweet mango slices, cream and cake. You can refrigerate the mochi for days and it still stays soft and chewy and doesn't get hard. It's go good!

We visited for a special occasion cake and had originally placed an order for their tiramisu. But due to a last-minute change of heart (thanks, Dad!), we asked if we could switch it to a taro cake instead upon arrival. Honestly, I wouldn't have blamed them if they said no. But to our surprise, the staff was incredibly accommodating and handled the change with grace and efficiency. That kind of customer service deserves serious recognition. We chose a vanilla chiffon cake layered with red bean, taro, and pudding. Visually, it was stunning: elegantly decorated with fresh fruit on top, each piece artfully placed, and finished with a deep purple dusting that gave it a refined look. Taste-wise, it was everything we hoped for and more. The chiffon was light and airy, just the right amount of moist, and served as the perfect canvas for the trio of fillings. The taro was creamy and comforting, the red bean added a gentle earthy sweetness, and the pudding brought a soft richness that tied it all together. Not overly sweet nor heavy...just beautifully balanced and incredibly satisfying. JJ Bakery always has a great variety of cakes to choose from and they should deserve a spot at the top of your list!

If you're in Arcadia and craving Taiwanese pastries JJ Bakery is the place to check out. ::Food:: Go in the morning to catch the freshest batch. The bakery specializes in Taiwanese pastries and breads. My favorites are the Red Bean, Taro, and Hot Dog buns. Their menu includes food options, but I haven't tried them yet. I also love picking up their goodies as gifts! ::Dessert:: They also offer cakes, but I haven't tried a whole one yet. I've had their cake slices, and they're just okay. ::Customer Service:: Customer service is okay. It is more of a "pay and go" experience. ::M's Notes:: - Parking lot - Inside seating

One of my favorite things in the world are Taiwanese macaroons which are kind of shaped like French macarons, but they're not made with almond flour and the dough itself tastes more like a very light sponge cake. I have actually been looking for these types of Taiwanese macaroons everywhere, and I have never seen them in America until I saw them at JJ's. I was really excited and it tasted pretty good too. If only they had locations closer to the west side.

The mooncakes are delicious and great quality here! They offer different flavors with and without salted yolk like lotus, red bean, date, and pineapple, etc. I really enjoyed all the ones I've tried. They offer box sets or you can buy individual ones from the mini size to the full size. It's great to buy as gifts to friends and family. Or to even try a whole bunch for yourself.

Came for some dinner take out. Food is good and reliable. All the dishes I got today were fresh and delicious, not too salty. Cafe is open until 8pm. Dining area is clean and open. Comfortable spacing. Service is pretty good. Bakery doesn't have much left after 7pm which makes sense cuz they bake fresh. Busy plaza but plenty of parking. Would come back soon.

Located in a busy shopping center, I stopped by for some baked goods and saw a fellow Yelper there. We certainly know what's good in the area. I don't rate 5 stars to many businesses, this one earned it! The baked goods are individually wrapped on the shelves, which is very good. Some items are boxed and ready for gift-giving (see videos). I like this practice, it's good to know others are not touching your food like fruit and veggies in the grocery store. They have cakes for all occasions, each one looks like a work of art, almost too pretty to eat. They sell coffee, tea, juice, and other refreshments. By the cashier is a refrigerated section with prepared meals, packaged and ready to take home, and simply heat for lunch or dinner. Don't be in a rush, come with sufficient time to find parking, browse, shop, eat or take their breads, cookies, cake or pastries home. Don't forget to tell'em that Rosemary sent ya!

Chewco inspires creativity at JJ Bakery & Cafe, which is a family owned Bakery offering traditional Asian breads, cakes, desserts, specialty foods and beverages. Chewco uses innovative ingredients for baking pros. MUST-TRY DESSERTS: Chocolate Mojo: bite sized buns with a stretchy, airy texture and rich chocolate flavor Marshmallow Mochi: a luscious cream wrapped in a mochi skin that has the soft texture of marshmallow; a creamy, fluffy and cloud-like bite Mango Pomelo Sago Bite: a take on the Hong Kong dessert; mango flavor with a mochi heart and sprinkled with coconut flakes Mango Mochi Cake: looks like a mango! This mango cake has chewy mochi in the middle. Some of my savory favorites: BBQ Pork Bun, BBQ Pork Steamed Buns. They do have a cafe with hot foods. I'll have to try it next time. They have wonderful customer service and very helpful. There's seating in the cafe area.

Restaurant has some nice combo sets. If you like Taiwanese food, this place is for you. Some friends love this place and took me here, so I gave it a try with them. With lots of items to choose, my friends suggested any of the combo sets which range between $12-15, that come with soup and two sides. I choose the grilled mackerel and it was so good. The sides and soup was okay, but I enjoyed the variety. For the price, I was very full and had to take home leftovers. Also it is connected to a delicious bakery. Good for a date if you are looking for a place that is cheaper than most places. Parking can be hard on weekends, but fine on weekdays.

I was hoping to have my own AE86 built and ready when I finally stopped by, but maybe for the new location. As an honest critique of the actual storefront, the appearance and decor is very charming. In a very bright, Japanese themed cafe kind of way. But because this is an Initial D themed drink and snack spot, I can see this being a place where mostly guys use this place as a meet-up hub. Especially for a small car meet. Very niche right? Especially for the dying breed of 1980's 1990's - 2000's JDM cars. That said, how many guys in the city could you actually get to come here regularly for soy and soy-based accessories, drinks, and snacks? The dessert was okay, and I wasn't in love with the drinks. Light, tofu refreshing, but not captivating. Personally, the menu doesn't appeal to me, since I try to avoid soy since it tends to be a pro-estrogen consumable. I don't think they had to box themselves in into being a purely tofu-only cafe. They could sell tofu products, and also have something simple but repeatedly addictive; like In-n-Out, Wurstkuche, Howling Ray's, Tea Master Matcha Cafe, Savoy, Langer's, etc. The closest idea I can think of that would be forced into tofu would be like really excellent, authentic mabo tofu, agedashi tofu, or like a karaage or Tokyo fried chicken style fried chicken with a mabo tofu dipping sauce, heavy on the ma-la flavors. Hell, I might even stop by more if they imported more car parts, from like Impulse, TRD, or Apex'i. But the way the AE86 market is, it makes more sense to sell online to the global niche. Wonderful atmosphere and mood for the Initial D/MF Ghost/Subaru to Subaru fandom. It was fun just to follow on instagram and catch a glimpse of all the influencer personalities in the car community stopping by. I'll look forward to what their next Project T(ofu) looks like. See you next time, Space (cow) boy. Oh-oh-oh. I need you babe.

There's an underground lot for extra parking. Customers primarily order at the self-service kiosk. Customers must pay with card and insert phone number in the kiosk, but Customers can pay cash at the counter. Dine in customers grab a metal number that's stacked between the kiosks. Staff spoke limited English, but Staff is professional, diligent, and accommodating. My order took 24 minutes. As mentioned, I love the Creme Brûlée Soufflé Pancake ($17.50). It's plated and presented lovingly and seductively. It's memorable. With each motion, I bit hard onto its fluffy, lightly sweetened body. I savored how the creme brûlée's creamy sauce dribbled. It's layered, supple, and thick. I shake the plate. It dances. On ambiance, Motto Tea Cafe (San Gabriel) is comfortable. There's about seven interior tables and two counters. The music is slow-tempo and gentle. And it's clean. There's also a gender neutral restroom for customers. Overall, I created lovely memories at Motto Tea Cafe (San Gabriel). The wait is extremely long, but I found contentment at this journey's end. If you love wiggly pancakes & have plenty of time to spare, this is an easy recommendation. 4.8 out of 5

Souffle pancakes in different occasions always look so pretty, are the best everyone's ever had, some some flavor profiles don't work. Maybe that's why the menu sometimes changes. For example the yuzu grape was completely bland because the yuzu drizzle on top was a thin line i couldn't taste at all. At least put a spread between each layer or pour a lot on top like the others (eg berry or mango). The mint leaves was the most potent flavor in this dish. Over the grapes, blueberries, matcha powder, yuzu. Got the mango triple layer drink this time and if you drink it carefully, you can appreciate the contrast from the mango puree, the milk, the creamy salted matcha. If you just mix it up completely you won't get that affect. One thing that bothers me is because the menu changes I seem to always be unable to get something I'm thinking of from the previous visit. I recall last time I had some mochi and rice ball I added to a drink that was so damn good and I couldn't add it this time. Though I recall that drink being $11.50 from the add ons. The souffle pancake was $21... so place is $$ but again the quality is there. Service wise, never interacted with staff really. Kiosk to order. Drinks just sit at counter when done. Didn't call numbers. Oh they did bring the pancake, no words spoken.

One of the best scoops of Ice Cream I've had in a long time! I've had Kinrose Creamery on my list…read morefor a minute and was so happy after my wife and I got to try a scoop. They are located in Mills Alley in Pasadena just look for the bright red sign and signage promoting some flavors. We came by after having dinner. The staff greeted us as we walked in. It was empty when we initially arrived then more customers filtered in shortly after. Staff allowed to sample their unique flavor options. **To note, they offer a few vegan flavors for those with dietary restrictions**. Always a huge plus and positive! The flavors are middle eastern inspired and the details are all listed. My wife and I sampled 2 flavors and we both enjoyed our selections. The flavors are memorable. We happily decided on the Sesame Halve (vegan) & Pistachio Konafa with Chocolate Shell (+$1.00) for myself. The presentation is one of a kind! The topping with the tiny little rose is a nice aesthetic and definitely their trademark. The location offers retro and colorful style seating for 10+ customers if I had to guess . Patio seats are also offered outside. Also, OG Pac-Man arcades are available inside. My wife loved her Sesame Halva and my Pistachio Konafa with Chocolate Shell totally reminded me of a Dubai Chocolate type of vibe with each bite! The whole first time visit was positive and would make me want to come by again to try something else! Presentation on point! Flavors on point! Vibes good! Tummies happy! Come by and just try! Thanks, Kinrose Creamery! ( ^_^)b

My husband and I stopped by here on Monday night after eating at Edwin Mills. My husband had this…read morespot bookmarked a while ago and didn't realize they were neighboring businesses. When we arrived, we were the only two there for a few minutes until more people came. We were greeted right away. We walked down a ramp that led us to their selections. It's a decent-sized shop with a few tables. Each table had a rose in a vase attached via velcro so you don't have to worry about tipping them over. The shop is also nicely decorated with wall art. It's been a few days since then and we can't stop thinking about coming back. They serve unique Middle-Eastern flavored ice cream. I ordered the Sesame Halva which is their vegan ice cream made of Halva ice cream with sesame & coconut. OMG, I've never tasted anything like this before. I love anything that has a sesame profile. If you like that nutty, sweet, and earthy flavor this one is for you. I could taste the coconut, but it wasn't overpowering. There were also little chunks of halva in there that added a slight bit of sweetness. The texture was similar to cookie dough, but softer. Aside from the taste, I loved the simple presentation of the small rose on top of the scoop. It made it look elegant. As you can tell, I am definitely coming back and highly recommend stopping by.
