I really appreciated Sunny's professionalism and efficiency today. Recently purchased a second hand vehicle needing some brake work. Called Sunny this morning and he gave me an extremely reasonable estimate for rotor and brake pad replacement. Not only that, he discovered a nail lodged into the bottom right tire that would have left me stranded on the freeway had it not been discovered and addressed. Work was done in less than two hours as promised, with extremely transparent pricing on the invoice sheet. Also, sunny does not charge extra fees for credit card usage, so card uses can feel at ease to put everything on the account. Uncle Sunny can speak Chinese and English, but Chinese is his first language. He is very honest about pricing. To help facilitate the process and communication, it would be helpful to have a Chinese speaker available just in case. I called today 5/21/22. I was quoted $50 for an oil change for a tiny car Yaris that takes 3.75 quarts and not a drop more. Too high. The chain stores charge $40 and this tiny shop which does not do any of the myriad inspections the lube shops do, charges 25% more. Outrageous! This is regular oil I want, not Jojoba oil with gold flakes in it. Not coming back. I have a host of other fixes to do on two cars and they are across the street literally, but I feel ripped off for a simple oil change. You lost my business permanently over $10 price gouging. The oil shop on Winchester Blvd and Stevens Creek, called Quality Tune Up Car Care Center, charges $40 with a 32 point inspection of tire pressure, hoses, fluids, belt, brake rotors, etc. Be realistic in your pricing, Sunny. Don't jack up the price soon as you hear a female voice on the phone. read more

So I came here based on all (six) glowing five star reviews and the fact that this was close to my place. But based on my experience here, I will never take my car here again and have been telling others not to bring their cars here either. I brought my car in for a basic 90k mile service, to which Ming said he knows how to do and he would check my car thoroughly. However, when I first brought my car in, he had me pop the hood and immediately told me I needed to do a brake flush because the brake fluid was "so dirty" and I need to replace my timing belt because it was "cracked" and "unsafe to drive on highway." Of course this would all cost extra $$$. He kept emphasizing how unsafe my car was to drive, repeatedly said "very dangerous, your car timing belt break on highway, your car stop suddenly, you die." Very scary stuff. This was all before he put my car on the lift mind you. Well, I just had him do the 90k service and the brake flush because I was wary about his timing belt warnings. Mainly because he kept changing it. First he said timing belt, then he said timing chain, then it was the power steering belt, and then he said something else I can't remember. Each time he would follow it up with the words "very dangerous" and "must fix now, not safe to drive on highway anymore." My gut feeling told me he was trying to scam me and looking back, I shouldn't have left my car with him at all for the other stuff. Next time I'll listen to my gut. The 90k service took SIX hours for him to do, despite the fact that he told me he'd have it done in under two hours. As a result, I was stuck without a car for six freaking hours. I called him at the four hour mark and he told me "I very busy" and hung up on me. I called him at the five hour mark and told him I wanted to come pick up my car, forget the service, and it turns out he had JUST put my car on the lift. So he says, "don't worry, I working on your car now" and hung up on me. See a pattern? And by the way. About that timing belt? I took my car to another mechanic who I've worked with before (and should have brought my car to in the first place). That mechanic was like, let me guess, you took it to one of those cheapie oil change places, right? He told me I have a timing chain, not timing belt (which is what I had thought, but Ming tried to convince me otherwise), and it did not need to be replaced. The power steering belt is fine. And I will not die driving my car on the highway because it is nowhere near breaking down. Thanks a lot Ming for trying to scam me with your scare tactics. And thanks a lot for leaving my windows rolled down when you parked my car outside in the rain. The driver's side interior was all wet when I picked up my car. Will never go here again. read more

ZERO STARS! The pure audacity of these guys disgusts me. - Inexperienced and inattentive mechanics. I found major problems within minutes that they hadn't noticed over a few days. - Was told car would be ready within 30 minutes, arrived, waited another hour. - Overcharge for cheap items such as coolant. - Talks about customers and remaining car issues in Chinese, believing the customers cannot understand, then disregards issues and sends customers home with faulty car. read more

Shifted fender, panel gap on the side skirt, paint transfer/loss on the adjacent door. Other shops quoted more than twice the amount this place did, and said it would take a week. Sunny had it finished in 2 days. Professional and knowledgeable people who do fine work. read more

This is my 3rd time walked in there to solve a small problem. Oil change, brake fluid change and tire repair, all my 3 times experience were happy because they provided quick service and almost solved your small problems instantly. And the price is pretty acceptable. That's why I went there time by time. Sometimes the staff expains how the issue come from or the theory why your issue be there. It makes sense as I'm a mechanical engineer. And one more important thing, they never recommend unneccessary service that would be added on and charge more. read more

Recently I replaced my brake pads at this store, I got fast service from his boss and I feel satisfied for his work.

I know nothing about cars, when I needed to fix something or when I heard weird sound from my car, I went to Toyota dealers, they are costly and sometimes it took multiple trips for one problem. By my Friend's recommendation, I went to Sunny Auto Care for replacing my shock absorbers, he did a very good job and gave me a good price, so when I felt my steering wheel was shaking recently, I went to Arming's store again. He checked my wheels, told me I needed new tires and an alignment, since he doesn't do alignment, he recommended me a good one. Then he found out my brakes were worn seriously, not only he replaced my brake pads, but also used a machine to grind the brake plates, the surface of the brake plates were so uneven, it took him over 90 minutes to get both plates smooth. From my previous experience, this should cost a lot, but the owner charged me only a few. While the machine was working on my brake plates, they also checked and refilled my brake oil, engine oil and other stuff. I will definitely highly recommend this store to you and your friends, the owner is very nice, skillful and honest, you can definitely trust them, I am sure you will like this store. read more

He always not only fixed the auto issue but also told me how to save money to get the problem resolved. I have been there before for oil changes and some regular maintenance. They used to have some of the lower pricing out there. But their prices is slightly lower than others. If you know exactly what you need, may be they can do the job for less. However, I am not really sure you can trust their diagnostic. I think they can be sloppy. read more

I came here for changing tire. They ask me to wait for half an hour firstly. And then told me to leave my tire there and wait for their call once they check online. I don't understand why they insist doing so instead of just getting all figures. Eventually they called and saying no available ones have to order online in one week at the price of approximately $300. I refused and just ordered from tirerack.com at $219 and got it the second day. Not a happy experience here. read more

Ming is a great and honest mechanic. He charges really cheap for good work, and doesn't recommend unnecessary work. He'll be glad to recommend cheaper work-arounds and temporary bandages if you're tight on budget. He also isn't too busy yet (which I'm sure with time he'll be ) so the work is pretty quick. He's my secret place, which I hope won't get famous too soon. But it's inevitable and I'll help him with this review. read more

If there were zero star, then that's what I will give. Simple oil and filter change, and the millage goes from 17 ~ 20 mpg to 10 mpg. Went back to the shop and all they did is to stare at the dashboard and say even if there's issue, it's not caused by them. If you are fine with your car to run with 50% LESS efficient, go with Sunny auto care. read more

I don't yelp but I thought I should give a shoutout to Ming. I'm very specific about my car and there are a lot of aftermarket parts installed on it. Ming has helped me completely repace my suspension (twice), and both times were quality work. Now I take my car there for oil changes and any other small problems. I came here on a Sunday afternoon because my car battery couldn"t start. Even though they only took call appointments on Sundays, they were very accommodating and were willing to help me out. They changed my battery in under 10 minutes for about $130. Given that a battery u buy off the shelf at Costco cost about $100, this price is super affordable. My rear bumper had a not-minor damage, the corner was dented and also got some deep scratches. The estimate of repair given by other body shops are about $800 to $900 because they said the bumper couldn't be repaired but had to be replaced. I found this Sunny auto care on my way to work and thought it doesn't hurt to give a try. Ming (a.k.a Sunny) told me the repair would be $350. I was a little bit upset because what I heard in other body shops. Anyway, I dropped off my car here. Two and half days later when I came back, I was impressed by Ming's work. The bumper is shiny like a new one, no marks of damage can be spotted. Now I know this will be my secret place for car repairing, and I will definitely refer it to my friends. read more
