When I didn't agree to his price on the spot, the same day I met him, he and his employee Niv agreed that my "wife must make all the decisions". That's she "calls the shots" in our marriage. I don't know what kind of customer Designs 4 You is used to dealing with, but I would never agree to purchase something as large as a $230,000 addition based on a quick iPad sales pitch. These decisions are made carefully with one's family, not something to be pressured into. I was forced to personally source and order core components like our medicine cabinet and faucet because the company failed to track or order them. More concerning are the regulatory issues. The project failed its first city inspection due to a mechanical code violation (venting exhaust straight into the attic). Furthermore, the contractor under-reported our $24,331 contract to the City of Imperial Beach on the permit valuation as only $3,786.75 (an 84% discrepancy). We have fulfilled 100% of our financial obligations to close out the contract, but an active investigation has been requested with the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB Complaint #S F 2025016199) regarding their permit reporting and management practices. Had a rep (I believe her name was Roni) come over to give us a quote for our yard. Out of all the contractors we received quotes fromthis was the most detailed and thorough, but also the absolute most expensive. She took a while going through types of licenses and showed me photos of designs she has worked on. A very large part of the meeting was about how this was her brothers company, sharing his story as they are from Israel. She shared about her brothers licenses, his companies, how learned in Israel and how he was inspired to learn to build stronger home foundations after their home was partially bombed (?) or something similar. Shared how since they are Jewish they work on the weekends- which didn't matter to us either way, unsure why it was shared multiple times. Thought she mentioned it was not political, we could have stuck to the project in conversation. Great sales pitch regardless. She provided an overview of the company's background, licensing, and general process. While the price was on the higher side, it was still competitive compared to other quotes we received. We felt confident moving forward knowing a dedicated project manager would oversee the work and ensure a service-oriented approach. The crew took care to protect the floors and workspace, and Adaya made sure the work area was sealed more thoroughly when she saw it could be improved. The foreman, Asaf, was attentive and checked in personally during the project. After installation, we discussed the tile manufacturer's recommendation for silicone sealing between each panel. The team explained their approach, addressed our questions, and reassured us the work would be fully covered under their warranty, with future moisture checks available if ever needed. We had an excellent experience with Designs 4 You. Our project was a backyard upgrade to create a new paver patio for a hot tub, along with drainage, electrical, and landscape lighting. From the very first consultation, Roni and Olivia were great. They really listened to what we wanted, understood the vision right away, and also brought smart, creative ideas of their own that made the final result even better. Even though this was a relatively small project, we never felt that way. They treated us like a top priority the entire time, which honestly says a lot. Their attention to detail really stood out. They went above and beyond in ways we didn't expect. They adjusted our fence so everything lined up properly, installed landscaping lights in parts of the yard that weren't even part of the renovation, and helped us relocate a palm tree we wanted to keep instead of just removing it. LADIES BEWARE! I booked an appointment for landscaping and, at that time, the receptionist gave me instructions saying both you and your spouse must be there. I said that wasn't necessary and went ahead and made the appointment. Olivia came out (not a landscape architect or designer, rather she received her degree in interior design), and we spent over an hour together discussing plans for my new-build property. At the end of our visit she said it would be $3500 for a 2-D and 3-D rendering. When I hesitated, she said it would be applied to the project "in pieces". I asked her to send me an email with the details and, as of six days later, had received nothing. Instead, Diana, the receptionist who originally booked the appointment, called to tell me that Olivia had a message. The message was that she'd like to come back and, "meet with my husband to finalize the plan." I told her that wasn't necessary and I hadn't received any email yet. She said she was only delivering Olivia's message and she needed to meet with my husband. Is this 1970?! This is MY house and I am paying for the landscaping. Needless to say, I told her this was sexist, insulting, and degrading. Unless you are a male husband, save yourself time and don't bother calling this company. read more

After working with D4U on our backyard in the past, I wanted some consistency in the front as well. We had and older, outdated retaining wall replaced with an updated look. It was very large area, replacing the old mulched areas with a massive amount of rock. Stacy and her team were very quick and organized to start on the project right away and in less than a week we have added a much more modern curb appeal. There were a few modifications to the original plan that we felt were necessary to complete the look and their team was very accommodating. I hired Deisgns4You to do a number of items on a new home build. Unfortunately once the contracts were signed, all the issues began. The sales rep, Seth, was very nice, but always late and said certain things would be done, but then said he had never agreed to those items. After spending nearly $200,000 the owner of the company, Omer, refused to complete some work. Specifically, he refused to pour a new sidewalk even though it was CLEARLY outlined in the contract (photo attached). Omer argued that the "sidewalk" was the walkway to the side of the house, then the concrete along the side yard and so on. Somehow there was even a line item for "sidewalk install" and "sidewalk prep" but not for any other other concrete work he claimed it was referring to. I also was charged nearly $1000 for lights they installed in the concrete steps the poured and they admittedly never notified me of this charge until AFTER it was installed. They threatened to take the lights out if I didn't pay them. Upon contacting the BBB, they offered to settle, but only if I waived the warranty on the work they did as well as all future "claims, demands, obligations, liabilities....whether know or unknown" AND I would have to remove my Yelp review so people wouldn't know how this company actually operates. I am now proceeding with arbitration. Sad that companies promise the world and then try and screw you over. Additionally the owner posted a negative review on my business page even though he had never worked with me in that capacity. read more

We have done a lot of remodeling over the years on different houses and properties but this experience with Designs 4 You has been among the best we have ever had. Our current project was a four bathroom remodel including a master bathroom which required complete demolition to the studs, resizing windows, and a complete re-imagining of the interior and exterior space. I attribute the success of our project primarily to Adaya, our project manager. She was not the first to bid for the project but she was definitely the last. She immediately grasped not only what we were hoping for but also exactly what needed to done. It did not take long to know we were in good hands. After that, she took care of everything, which eliminated much of the stress of a big remodel. The backyard repair and add on space turned out as we had requested. Seth and Sean both of the project managers we met from the initial estimate. We had a big project in mind but with we opted to just get the most in area to get fixed. We decided to go with this company because the quote for the project was reasonable and both project managers did communicate with us well on how the repairs will be done. So we are happy how it turned out. Now a few things I want to point out. First the total payment for the project, we decided to remove one project and because of that, I was confused whether the price for the project has been adjusted to the final contract. The contract should've been updated to the final project agreement to eliminate confusion and for me asking them to clarify again. Towards the end before they took my final payment, both project managers came over to measure the area again to make sure I'm not being overcharged. Another thing to point out is the separate charge for the pavers rather for us to pay. There was a miscommunication with the material that was delivered and we ended up paying for the delivery fee that Seth and Sean said we will get a the delivery fee credited back. Relying on the us to determine which pavers match our existing pavers should not be done. Another set back in the time frame and extra fee could have been prevented. We appreciate Seth and Sean communication with us but it also feels like I'm constantly initiating what was update or ETA of the workers to be arriving. We have dogs that stays outside in the patio area so this is important for us to know ahead of time what time and when so we can adjust our schedules. When the final project was done to close out, there was a discrepancy on the pavers being uneven. They quickly repaired the error and worked all day to get it done. We did not get a lot of options on the design for the fence we had in mind but the one Seth suggested turned out fine. Again, a separate contractor for this so when we wanted to make the gate wider, we had to pay more for labor. So we just left it as it is. Lastly, I wish there is an electronic payment for this company rather than calling to make payments or Zelle. I got only one receipt by e-mail for the final payment but not the actual itemized payment history. Everyone was helpful and professional. These are just some things I wanted to point out. Otherwise, we appreciate that the staff worked with us to complete the project and repair of the existing under the paver erosion. read more

From dirt, weeds, and an awkward slope to the most beautiful, modern backyard and entertainment space! We moved into a new construction home and we were in charge of the backyard. We had a general idea of what we wanted to do - a retaining wall to maximize our side yard space, a concrete path leading from the front yard to the (other) side yard for our trash bins, pavers, and artificial turf for an easy, low maintenance backyard. We had met with another landscaping company prior to our Designs 4 You consultation and we just were not satisfied. The moment we met Roni, we knew we want led her as our backyard designer and project manager. She was extremely sweet and transparent about the process. She listened to what our general needs were and she took it to the next level and told us her ideas for our space ... and guess what? They were exactly what we wanted and more! Instead of a simple concrete path for the entire side yard, she recommended a concrete step path surrounded by river rocks to avoid the cold, hard look of simple concrete. She introduced us to porcelain pavers which look so much more modern than the smaller pavers we were originally looking at. I didn't know porcelain pavers were a thing!! We knew we could trust her and we signed with her that afternoon! The process was smooth. She kept us updated throughout the process, responded quickly to our questions, stopped by the house almost every day to monitor the backyard transformation, and always checked up on us. We had a good experience with Designs 4 You. We replaced the entirety of the dirt/grass areas in our front and backyard with artificial turf. Meidan was a great partner after our original salesperson became unavailable. He stepped in seamlessly, answering all of our questions during the consultation. When we asked to see samples, he came back the very next day with options for turf and rock. Meidan mentioned they could start right away if we were ready -- and they did! Demolition began the very next day, and a hardworking crew of about five people was on-site from morning until evening for two days straight. By the end of the week, the project was fully completed, and the transformation was incredible -- our yard looked so much better than we imagined. Throughout the entire process, Meidan remained available and responsive via text, which gave us peace of mind. They even came back to fix a couple of minor issues without hesitation. I found Designs 4 You online and decided to schedule a consultation based on their great reviews. My yard has a large slope and with 2 active boys, I was looking to make the space more useable and manageable for my family. Previously my yard was overrun with weeds, a huge bush that took over the slope, a dilapidated playground area that wasn't being used, and old pavers that were separating from each other. We added multiple retaining walls, over 1,000 sq ft of new pavers, and a 4 hole putting green. The finished product is an incredible space for my family to enjoy. I reached out to Designs 4 U for a quote on five retaining walls and a balcony cover. Seth arrived for the initial appointment on 5/26 at 10am, right on time. We discussed design details, materials (cinder block with caps), and the balcony structure. Everything seemed to be going well -- he took measurements and proposed to return that Friday at 10am to review the quote in person. However, on Friday morning at 9:38am, I received a text saying he was having truck issues and asked to reschedule for Sunday at 10am. I completely understood and agreed, even offering to review the quote via email in advance so we could discuss questions together. I provided my email when asked. Later that same day, he texted again asking to reschedule the Sunday appointment to a later time. I let him know I had a family gathering and couldn't accommodate a later slot. After that, I never received the quote -- nor a follow-up response. Out of courtesy, I reached out once more, just to ask if I had said or done something wrong or if my project wasn't a good fit for their company. I made it clear I appreciated his time either way -- but still received no response. While Designs 4 U has many positive reviews, my experience didn't reflect the same level of follow-through or professionalism. We couldn't have asked for anyone better than Adaya--our Project Manager, Assaf--our Project Foreman, and their hard-working, and courteous construction crew. The projects were finished on the timeline that they projected (3 weeks each), which is amazing! We were so pleased with our communications with Adaya, her consistent check-ins with us, and her determination to help us stay on budget. Adaya and Assaf are both very professional and kind.
