Even though this place was busy; the service was still pretty good and the staff all was friendly. My husband ordered the whiskey flight... he loved it; especially the green river. The flight came with mini sausages and peppered bacon; awesome touch for the whiskey flight. I ordered the brunch burger ; it was delicious; just very messy hahaha. Had to eat it with a knife and fork ; toppings were falling out when I lifted it up using my hands. My husband ordered the breakfast tacos; made with chorizo and blue corn tortillas. The salsa they give you was fire! We also ordered a waffle to share; it was sweet, cooked perfect and delicious. The butter, I coulda just ate by itself with a spoon, but I'm sure my arteries wouldn't have liked that too much. We went to Sunny Hyde ip last week, we had their chilaquiles and their a la carte waffle, pancake and fruit. Food was delicious, my only suggestion is to ask for the butter in the side if you don't like add-ins, one had crushed nuts I believe (tasted like peanut butter) and the kiddo wasn't too fond of it. Great meal, delicious food, nice staff were very attentive. Ambiance was wonderful, it was great to see the building remodeled. Being from LA, this feels a LOT like the brunch vibes I miss. Truly is my favorite meal to go out for. I've been here on 3 occasions. All three, the food was good. Atmosphere, great. However, service was slightly below average. First time we went, our table broke. And I mean broke broke where it was going to fall over if we let it go and we were just moved. Not sorry for the inconvenience, nothing. Second, was good. We took my daughter. Unfortunately, the kids menu was EXTREMELY limited so we had to get her an adult item, which I didn't really like. Last, we were there for about an hour and a half. Not because we wanted to be, but because the service was THAT bad. Took FOREVER to get our food and even drink. Husband stood with water, I had a cup of coffee. The theme is, the food is good. Slightly over priced, but good. But service was a cool 2/5 stars. Just finished a three hour brunch for our cousins birthday. We were seated right on time and quickly greeted by our server Lucy. And, this was at 12:15 in a full house! Went to SHU today 8/9/26. Had the worst server, Angel. First we had to ask him to bring ice for the water & a cup of hot water twice. We put our full order including appetizers in at the same time, someone else brought our food, no condiments or anything. Like I said we had to ask everything twice. However, I did notice he made sure to converse with the other tables & check on them periodically. To top it off after we complained about not receiving our appetizers until after the entrees he brought them out & said they are not piping hot but a little wam. The service is amazing, and everyone is so friendly and nice. Reservations were full, but able to sit at the bar first come first serve and the lovely bartender Max was so great and service was hyper smooth. The bar menu is great. We got the fruit loop milk punch, and it was delicious!!! I didn't know milk punches were clear!!! They also have a banana bread old fashion! Such clever drinks!!! The wine list has a great mix of California' wines and also non alcoholic drinks for those driving. The food is great too!!!! Such an interesting menu!!!!!! I wanted to order everything. I absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant unless you don't mind having hair in your food. We went to try this restaurant out, the service was good and the drinks were also very good. We ate and took home the leftovers. I ordered the Country Fried Steak with potatoes. That night when I reheated the food for my wife. She found two long hairs in the food. And they were imbedded in the crust. I called the next day to let them know what happened and it felt like the manager did not care about what was in the food. So I cannot recommend this place at all. I also wanted to add to this review a day after I posted it. I received a message from possibly the manager or owner of this establishment. With an apology of my experience with the food. The manager states "During your call, our manager apologized and offered several options to make things right, including an invitation to return so we could provide a better experience. While we understand you were not interested in giving us another opportunity, our goal was genuinely to resolve the situation." The manger I spoke to absolutely did not offer any options and never offered an invitation to return or make things right. She simply apologized and said "Thank you for the feedback" multiple times and I also never asked for my money, a reimbursement of any sort. I was polite and was not rude because I genuinely wanted to return to this restaurant, but with hair in your food that would be impossible. I simply called to tell them that there chef/cooks/workers should be wearing hairnets to avoid something like this in the future. Yes I feel like this is a fair review!! read more

We are here for the first time as a party of 4 at 10am. We had a reservation, and we were seated quickly. The restaurant is bigger on the inside than I thought and also very modern. Service was great and attentive, with good recommendations. I tried a mimosa with their nonalcoholic prosecco and it was very good. They served a full glass of the prosecco with orange juice on the side so you could add as much orange juice as you desire. The orange juice was fresh also and not very sweet. I had the SHU stack with bacon. The pancakes were very yummy and crispy on the edges which was a great textural element. The butter was their specialty smoked vanilla butter. It was good, but the sweet butter with the syrup and pancakes was a bit too sweet for me. The syrup was also overly sweet and a bit artificial tasting, real maple syrup would really elevate this dish. The bacon was cooked perfectly however. My husband had the lobster eggs Benedict, and it was incredible! The flavor was delicious, not too much like seafood. The eggs were perfect too! They sat us fairly quickly, very clean, nice staff. The flight mimosas were yummy but if you are going with a group just get the bottle. Tables are relatively small for two people, almost dropped our food. We did notice the groups after us getting their food quickly (including their drinks, appetizers, and meals) , it took us more than 40 minutes to get our food (time stamp on photos). Our server only came twice to check on us, which includes giving us our check. Chicken and waffles were good, classic breakfast was okay nothing too special but the potatoes were good. read more

2.5/5 This review is solely based on our 1st and only experience so far. All in all don't miss your 1pm reservation on Sunday. They close at 230, not 3pm and will not seat you. They did offer the bar (where our party of 4 would be split), but when the tables cleared, shortly after we put an order in for take out, they didn't offer it to us. If you're late they'll claim that its an 1hr-1.5hr wait for walkins, but its because they dont seat anyone after 1pm at a table. We showed up 15mins late, thats on us, but I think this could've been handled a bit more elegantly. Again, we thought they closed at 3pm, not 230 as the hostess had informed us. We saw people being turned away after us as more and more tables cleared. It was clear to us that you can sit at the bar or order take out but not be seated at the table after 1pm. In the end we got our order and left. As a warning, dont miss your reservation and don't waste gas unless you want to order takeout. **If i could I would rate it 2/5 but being late is on us and they need to update their hours.** read more

Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal, my mom was happy and that's not an easy task, she's a very picky eater. We went to the Hyde Friday for breakfast this was me and my husband's 3rd time here , first time was great food was good , second time food was cold , so we thought we will give the restaurant a third try the food was cold again and the seating was uncomfortable they put us between two other tables we were arm to arm next to other costumers which was awkward being that close . The table was so small I kept knocking literally my silverware off the table and one of the staff removed the centerpiece so we could have room for our plates , we won't be back I suggest make sure food is hot especially when your customers are spending money for good food , also don't put customers in tight spaces when there are so many open tables .I gave 2 stars because staff and our waitress were very nice . read more

Had my first brunch experience today here! I got 2 drinks: a French 75 (my favorite) and a Hound something (I can't recall the name). A French 75 comes without ice, and with champagne: which should be chilled. My drink was barely cool; but I think they are just going through so much champagne that they don't have time to let it chill long enough before it has to be served again. The taste and flavor was still perfect, but would have been better cold and crisp. The Hound cocktail was delicious and super refreshing! For my meal I opted for the Biscuits and Gravy, as it was noted as being a popular choice. It's on the menu as biscuits and sausage gravy with 2 eggs any style. My food was served on a warm plate, but the food itself was room temperature (not even warm). The biscuits were pretty dry and crumbled when I cut into them with my fork. The flavor was there, just not the moisture. The gravy's flavor was also very good, but it should be noted that this is gravy with pieces of cut up sausage links (about 4-5 pieces which can be seen in the photo) in it, and NOT ground sausage mixed in. My eggs were cooked as I'd asked them to be, but not too warm. I also got a side of fruit, and the quality of the fruit was great! The only downside was they served it in a hot bowl that had probably just come from the dishwasher, so it warmed up my fruit. Our waitress, Andrea, was amazing and super helpful, personable, and sweet! She seemed to have a lot on her plate, so to speak, as she seemed to be working MANY tables, and it was very busy. The style of the restaurant is super nice, and I loved the decor. I love that it's vintage and somehow modern at the same time. They had music playing and it seemed like a fun spot to be at! I think once they work out the kinks and find their footing, and hopefully get more staff to help with tables so the existing staff isn't stretched so thin, food and drinks will arrive to the tables more quickly and this will be a great spot! During a recent visit to Sequoia National Park, we stopped at Sunny Hyde Up in Visalia for breakfast. What should have been a simple meal turned into one of the most uncomfortable and infuriating dining experiences we've ever had. We were told the wait would be about 20-30 minutes, which seemed reasonable. But once we were seated, everything went downhill. We were taken to the very back of the restaurant and placed at a neglected corner table with stained chairs and an uncleaned surface. Menus and empty cups were dropped off, and then we were completely ignored. Fifteen minutes passed with no greeting, no offer to take our order, and not even water. Staff walked by repeatedly without acknowledging us. Then another family was seated right next to us. The same server who had been ignoring us suddenly became attentive and friendly--bringing them water immediately and taking their drink order within minutes. Meanwhile, our cups were still empty. The difference in treatment was impossible to ignore. When the server finally came close enough, we flagged her down and asked for water. She asked if we wanted drinks, and we told her we were ready to order since we had already been waiting over 40 minutes. Her response was, "Yeah, but wait give me a second." She brought the water, still didn't take our order, and then went straight back to the other table to take their order--before ours-despite them being seated long after us. The blatant disregard for our table, the dismissive attitude, and the clear difference in service were unacceptable. We had been seated for nearly an hour with no service, no apology, and no acknowledgment. Meanwhile, the family next to us received full service within minutes. The message was loud and clear, and it was infuriating. Hungry, irritated, and tired of being treated like we didn't matter, we got up and left. No one stopped us, no one asked why, and no one seemed to care. I would strongly caution anyone--especially non-locals--to avoid this restaurant. It is unfortunate to say but we did not get a chance to try the food due to bad service. Save yourself the time, the gas, and the frustration of being ignored and made to feel unwelcome. We will never return to Sunny Hyde Up in Visalia, and we do not recommend it. read more

Said it would be an hour wait but was only 20 min tops (maybe work on the wait times). They had fun birthday parties at tables and our service was still on point. What a great place! They have done a great job remodeling the Lamp Liter. The ambiance inside is perfect. The food and drinks are really good also! We had the avocado toast, churro French toast and the chiliquiles. The avocado toast lacked a lot of flavor. The tomatoes were flavorless (would expect heirloom) and the avocado was truly just a spread. The arugula also needed tome type of acid based dressing. The French toast was PERFECT. So good. They have a nice waiting area. We made reservations. Though you can walk in I'd recommend making a reservation to ensure you're not waiting for a table. We were seated within 5 minutes. The food is good. Not necessarily a stand out but as a whole, it's a great vibe. The portions are normal not huge. The food is also aesthetically appealing.
