This is not super fancy or super gourmet so don't go there to expect that. It is a small, casual, cute little cafe'. We loved it! Friendly and fulfilling! We got gluten free panini with egg, avo and bacon.... yum. Pour over coffee (choice of almond milk). Gluten Free zucchini chocolate chip muffin. Perfect portions (as in the amount we should eat, not the amount a lot of restaurants serve) and delicious fruit cups. Also, my 4 year old ordered a lemon aide (yes for breakfast! I know...eye roll) and they made it from scratch, seeds and all! We also checked in for FREE amazing bite size cookies! Owners/ Staff were really sweet. Saw some good reviews about this place, esp. for lunch, so a buddy and I decided to check it out Friendly, quick service! We sat outside and enjoyed the classic cars going by and the warm weather. Buddy had a large salad. Now, for $10 or so, this salad, IMO, should've been much larger. Mostly lettuce. I wouldn't order it. I had a bowl of clam chowder, which I thought was really good, along with a panini. Don't remember which one it was, but it was pretty good. A little too much dressing for me. read more

I just ordered a simple egg, cheese and avo panini and it came with fresh fruit, and it wasn't soggy cantaloupe and honeydew but perfect, gorgeous raspberries, blackberries, blueberries. We made the trek to Escondido to taste what all the buzz was about and were not disappointed. I'm no panini connoisseur but I do know what textures and flavors excite my palette. The California Club was filled with tasty touches and an excellent cup of coffee was the perfect compliment. My partner had the Pesto Chicken and claimed "nothing about it was ordinary". Also, everyone who worked there was having a good time and was very personable. Amazing food at great prices. Took the family to eat for lunch. The Tuscan panini was our favorite followed closely by the meatball panini. Grilled cheese was good as well as the clam chowder. The lemonade was made to order and everything was fresh. Probably the BEST place to eat in San Diego. It was definitely he best place we ate at during our trip. Great breakfast, I need to come back for lunch. Wife and I tried the Cali Club Breakfast Panini and the quiche. The quiche was a green Chile and Monterey jack variety and it was great. Light and fluffy and great flavor. The sandwich was awesome, bacon, avocado, turkey, egg, and cheese. They bake the eggs and you can't order them to the style of your choosing, but it's ok. I usually like a runny yolk in my breakfast sandwiches but this works just fine. I also tried the kombucha and it was fantastic. Very refreshing and accessible, especially if booch is not typical for you. It didn't have that vinegar bite, but I didn't miss it either. Talked to the guy that makes it for them and he said he changes the flavor every month. I look forward to the next batch. Great music inside as well. We will definitely be back. Didn't bring kids this time but saw a bunch of kid friendly stuff like yogurt and everything came with fruit. Overall, great place, people, and food! read more

Found this place because it was on the list of top yelp places in American and conveniently near my moms house. I fell in love with this cute and charming cafe. We order the california sandwich and a quiche. They nicely split our sandwich for us and if you check in you get a delicious mini cookie. We'll definitely come back again and with more friends too. They only have street parking but have a parking lot across the street which i dont know if u can park there or not. read more

What a great find! My friend and I were on our way back to LA from San Diego and were looking for a quick bite to eat for breakfast. We found this place and let me tell you that it did not disappoint. Friendly staff welcomes you as soon as you walk in. Had a egg and avocado panini with a side of orzo salad in lieu of their fruit since I'm allergic to cantaloupe. The panini was amazing! The orzo was delicious as well. Would recommend this to anyone in the area. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that they don't offer an egg white option so I had to scoop out the egg yolk out of my panini...but other wise a great choice! read more

This place is one of the best cafes I have ever been to, and we happened upon it on our vacation. My family got the opportunity not just to eat here for lunch, but to enjoy their private Steak Night. If you want the best filet you have ever had, ya need to book one of these private events! We got to have the whole place to ourselves and our 4 course meal was impeccable- not to mention the family-like service. Anyhow, I highly recommend coming here. My husband, daughter and I came to Escondido for a basketball tournament and checked Yelp for restaurants in the area for breakfast. We saw that the Sunny Side Kitchen had a 5 Star rating and thought we would give the place a try. We were NOT disappointed! The place is small and cozy and very cute with outside patio seating as well. I had a 1/2 Pesto Chicken Panini and added some crispy bacon; my husband had a 1/2 Bacon; egg and cheese Panini and our daughter had 1/2 Egg; Avocado and Cheese Panini and they were all truly DELICIOUS! The added bonus was the genuinely friendly and courteous staff with Bob at the helm. I would definitely recommend this place especially if you like Panini's! We were pleasantly surprised at this little place; the service was great, they were so generous to us as first timers. A free cookie for checking in, but they gave us two! You could tell that they had a good customer base as lots of regulars came by even on Christmas Eve. The food was above average, but not five stars and I wish they had a little bigger selection. They are the food truck for Belching Beaver Brewing in Vista quite often. Paninis only for the most part. Flavors were spot on and the lady on staff is super nice. We went to this place because it was open at 6:30 and had good reviews. It is very small and quaint. The place is clean and there are local newspapers and magazines to enjoy while eating. The man and woman running the place were so nice and the service was excellent. The orange juice was delicious and came with free refills. I had the avocado egg and cheese panini with was delicious. The. Buttery herb flavor of the bread blended well with the egg, cheese and avocado. This is my first breakfast panini experience and i found it to be the most flavorful breakfast sandwich I've had. It also came with a small side of fresh fruit. The only issue was the parking seemed limited. We parked on the street which wasn't a problem that early but we didn't see any other parking available.
