Wonderful, welcoming staff. I ordered the Tuscan chicken sandwich. The flavor concept was great, and I loved the tomato aioli, but the chicken was so tough and chewy. Daily soup choices rotate and are listed on their website. I think the price point is a little bit high, even with the high-quality ingredients in comparison to other similar establishments within walking distance. I settled on the first sandwich option, half of a Tuscan chicken sandwich which was well prepared and arrived hot and crispy. It was tasty! A small side salad in a container that would fit a cup of soup with six dollars. And it didn't have anything special in it. The table next to us picked up a small container of small cookies which looked delicious but they didn't offer me any so can't tell you how they were, but I do think that those two guys polished them off! So I'd probably ask if they can do it over medium or even scrambled. The Wake Up was the better sandwich between the 2. We also got iced chai and it was really good. I decided to stop in because the Escondido Library gave me gift certificate for being part of the summer reading program . The place is very cozy so I can see how ordering for pick up is ideal. One customer came in to pick up a large order of breakfast sandwiches for a bridal party. I ordered the most popular sandwich and it was great. I love the buttery outside of the sandwich it was seasoned perfectly. The sandwiches are a sizable portion and I could see why they ask you if you want a half or a whole. I think I would have been fine with a half but I'm glad I got a whole because the flavors were mouthwatering. The coffee was great too, I got an Americano. I thought I read they had pour-over coffee but I didn't see any and the espresso was fine. The place is situated nicely in downtown Escondido and its worth dropping in. I'm a big fan of the pesto chicken and avocado bacon paninis but I highly doubt there's a bad choice to be made here. They serve breakfast and lunch (sandwiches all day), and although I haven't tried soups and salads yet, both look tasty when I find my gaze wandering to other patron's plates.
