In the last month and a half we have been to Escondido twice. Each time we have made it a point to eat at Sunny Side. Our experience each time has been outstanding and have determined that it will be a family tradition from this day forward. The food is fantastic, the prices very reasonable, and the service extremely inviting and friendly. Admittedly, I am not a healthy food fan and was hesitant to order the barley and mushroom soup. Food is pretty good but not the best I've ever had. I like the option of a half or full sandwich. The place is small and a tight squeeze unless you're super skinny and can maneuver through. The bread quality was really good, and I'm a bread lover so this hit a huge positive note for me. What really put them over the top though is that even though this is a quick serve place, at least one person takes the time to check on you and have a quick conversation to build rapport, even if it's super busy! It shows that the staff loves working here, is personally invested to provide the best they can and believe in the food. That kind of positivity is really felt in the atmosphere. read more

Wow. I can see why this place is rated what it is. This lil gem in esco is a great place for a really great breakfast/brunch with an affordable price! I ordered the full works panini ( you can choose half order or full order paninis ), which came with bacon, eggs, cheese and avocado. I also ordered their cold brew craft coffee, overall this panini is the perfect breakfast sandwich hands down. The panini was perfectly toasted, it had a wonderful crunch to it which complimented the bacon (which was also cooked to a perfect crisp, fckin fire af). The egg was cooked perfectly and really went well with the cheese (melted just right) and avocado, and to wash it all down the cold brew craft coffee went perfectly with the panini. There's not enough words to describe what a wonderful vibe Sunny Side Kitchen has to offer. Staring with its friendly staff. Bob was and continued to offer a superb service throughout my visit. Its homey, clean and presentable environment allows one to really experience the flavors of their exquisite food. I ordered the Works panini with bacon as well as a pour over coffee. The sandwich and the coffee were delicious and definitely more than what I had expected. Combined with the staffs vibrant personality makes any meal a great one. Was looking for a dog friendly breakfast place and saw all the positive reviews on Yelp so decided to give it a try. All was great from the Panini Breakfast sandwich, Chili Pepper & 3 Cheese Quiche, fruit and even the coffee drinks. Our pup was even treated special with some bacon to celebrate his birthday. This is the cutest little hole in the wall restaurant. Clearly family owned. They really go out of their way to make sure you are happy with your experience here. Food is delicious. The breakfast pannini was so yummy and perfectly prepared. A little side of fruit comes with it. After you order and pay for your meal, find a spot at one of the tables and they'll bring your food out to you. Great coffee, too. My only criticism is that I wasn't in love with the oatmeal. It was a little al dente for me. I like it puffy. I'll be happy to come again when I'm in the area. read more
