Was in the area and checked Yelp for a breakfast suggestion. Sunny Up Cafe showed great reviews so I tried it. Located inside an Auto Spa/Gas Station it makes good use of its space. There are several booths for seating and orders are taken at the counter. I had the Breakfast Platter with eggs, bacon, turkey sausage, hash browns and toast. I also ordered an Oat Milk Latte with Vanilla. The food was done perfect! Lightly seasoned and basted eggs, flavorful bacon and toast that was perfectly buttered and crisp. They also have at least 4 different hot sauces to choose from. And... the Latte was one of the best I have had anywhere! My order was taken by Daniel and he also made the Latte. His attitude and attentiveness were exemplary. I look forward to returning again as the menu has many tasty looking items.

My family appreciates having this place as a nearby dining option. We have dined in and ordered take away several times since we discovered it. We recently went for brunch. As always, we were impressed with the cleanliness, friendly service, quality and portion size of the food we received. Everything tasted great. The food is fairly priced. They have a salsa bar, which is always nice to have. This time around we were given complimentary chips and beans to share, which was a pleasant surprise. We hope more people find out about this place so that they can stay in business.

A café inside a gas station?! Don't let that throw you off. The food was amazing, and the presentation was surprisingly beautiful. The service at Sunny Up Cafe was just as impressive I can honestly say I was blown away. The staff were incredibly helpful with recommendations, and we ended up trusting them completely. I ordered the chilaquiles with red sauce, while my partner had the green sauce version both had an authentic Mexican flavor and were excellent. We also shared sides of black beans and potatoes. The other couple with us ordered the breakfast burritos, which were a very generous size (check out the photos!). Overall, I'd definitely come back for breakfast when I'm in the area. Parking is a bit limited since the café is located inside a gas station, but don't let that stop you from enjoying a delicious meal.

I've been looking for a good bfast burrito for when I'm in town. This one gets an A+ !!

I was craving chilaquiles for breakfast and did a quick search on my Yelp app. Many Mexican restaurants popped up, but this one caught my eye because it appeared to have excellent reviews and it was located inside the Chevron gas station mini mart! The cross streets are RSM Pkwy and Alton Pkwy in Foothill Ranch. I checked their menu online and decided to order pick up to go. I ordered the chilaquiles and chose rib eye for my protein, red sauce and my eggs over easy for $12.99. Yes you read that right! I couldn't believe how reasonably priced all of their items were! One thing to note is that they do charge a service fee. I'm not sure if it's a flat fee or a percentage of the total cost, but mine came out to $2.50. Nevertheless, $16.50 is a great price for chilaquiles! It took around 20 min for my food to be ready. The guy behind the counter was very friendly and offered me a free hibiscus tea drink since it was my first time there! The chilaquiles came with queso fresco, pico de gallo, sour cream, avocado & onions. It also came with potatoes & beans. And let me tell you... they were one of the best chilaquiles I've ever had! The red sauce was so delicious and all of the ingredients came together perfectly. My only wish is that the corn chips didn't get soggy so fast, but that's a minor thing. The overall taste was outstanding! I will definitely return soon to try some of their other items!

We had a great breakfast here. Authentic Mexican flavors, large portions, and a very nice server. A pleasant surprise in a gas station! We returned the next day and were equally pleased.

Daniel is a great host. Brought me my breakfast and an ice water.

Daniel was a great host. I had two street tacos. Al pastor was delicious and so was the carne asada. I was gifted a black bean tostada this was perfect. I added a mix of the habenero and tomatillo salsa. My mouth is still tingling. They have a high end coffee machine and the coffee is HOT and perfect. Picnic tables to sit on. More of a take out crowd. I don't know why I only think of them when I'm having my car repaired.

Turkey Sausage breakfast burrito. The red medium hot salsa not shown is really good too.

One of the best breakfast burritos I've had in OC! The place is tucked inside a Chevron gas station, but don't let that fool you. I'm always on the hunt for a good BB and I've found my spot. I ordered the turkey sausage (a more healthier option than bacon lol), eggs, hash browns and avocado. It comes with avocado at no extra charge, which is a plus. I added pico de gallo. The meat to egg, hash brown ratio was perfect. I loved that the hashies were a little crispy and not soggy! The turkey sausage was really good too and the burrito itself had good flavor. And it's a HUGE burrito. Oh, and they also grill it to make it the near perfect burrito all for around $12 which is a great price for the quality of the burrito. I'll be going back to try their chilaquiles next.

Sunny Up Cafe is inside Chevron ExtraMile mini mart

Sunny Up Cafe is located inside the Chevron ExtraMile mini mart, where Charro used to be. It has a limited menu that I would describe as Am-Mex. There are omelettes, pancakes and French toast, as well as burritos and chilaquiles. Most items are $15. It does offer a couple daily special items for less. It doesn't have many tables like a diner such as Denny's. You order from the counter first then find a table to sit down to eat or take it to go. Basically a place for a quick meal.

My friends recommended this place as a new spot for us to try out. It's located within the ExtraMile gas station and it just recently opened. For the place to be located in a gas station, I wasn't expecting not only the food to taste that good but I didn't expect the portion sizes to be that big either!! I only paid about $5 for my taco and it filled my entire plate and my appetite. The woman who was helping to serve was on top of her game! The moment I came in, she greeted me with a Good Morning and a smile. After taking my order and serving the other girls, she was still so attentive and friendly and accommodating. I wish I got her name, but I wanted to say THANK YOU for your kindness (I'll get your name the next time I come in!) Overall, for the first time, I give it a 4/5! Only because my meat was a little on the dry end. But I look forward to trying Sunny Up again!

Update. Sunny up cafe stays open later on weekends and has added street tacos to the menu.

This time, I tried the Chancho En Cama with avocado in a gluten-free wrap, served with fries and Serrano sauce. It had a nice sweet-and-savory combination. The sweetness comes from the charred mashed sweet potato, while the roasted shredded pork shoulder, lime-marinated red onion, cilantro, and yellow pepper aioli bring in the savory flavors. Adding avocado was a nice touch too. Service: 5/5 I ordered takeout for lunch, this time but everything went smoothly with my order. I remember we had lunch at the restaurant and the owner and staff were friendly. Location & Parking: 5/5 Located in a large Foothill Ranch shopping plaza with plenty of parking around the area. Ambiance: 5/5 From what I remember, the inside has more of a bar-like setting with a moderate noise level. Casual and fitting for a lunch or quick meal. Overall: 5/5 Mamon has an interesting variety of sandwiches and flavor combinations that you don't see everywhere. Between my old go-to Choripan and trying the Chancho En Cama this time, there are still plenty of other menu items that give me a reason to come back!

It was a late lunch for us, and so the place was nearly empty with the exception of one other group. We scanned the QR code at the front counter and took a seat at a table to review the menu. It was a little difficult to navigate and some items did not have pictures. The gentleman who helped us was just friendly enough to go over some of the menu items. But after we placed our order, we never saw anyone again. We ordered the pork shoulder sandwich called Chancho en Cama. We split the sandwiches so that we could try two different kinds. We both really loved the flavor profile of the pork sandwich. I really enjoyed it and wish I had a whole sandwich of this one! We also had the Philly Me Up sandwich. This one was a miss for us, definitely. This was pretty bland and just didn't compare to the deliciousness of the pork sandwich. Our sides were good, which included french fries, and roasted cauliflower. The portions are pretty small for the price point of the food. We'd probably stop by again to try other items if we were in the area.

The breakfast bowl was pretty filling for an early morning meal, and the Strawberry Matcha had a good balance of flavors. On my second visit, I tried the Monastery Latte with oat milk. It had subtle notes of locally sourced Ramakrishna honey and house-made lavender syrup. The oat milk may have lightened the flavors a bit, but it was still a satisfying drink for a cold morning. I'd come back and try it iced next time to see how the flavors compare. Overall, I've enjoyed both visits and would come back to explore more of the food and drink menu. We make direct eye contact, I smile, she looks at me and walks to the back, with no body language or expression, to continue her conversation. We wait 90 seconds to review the menu, she does not return, but can hear her conversation. A simple, "I'll be right with you." or "Give me a moment." would have been great but we got nothing so we walk out. As we walk out, we see her return to behind the register (still on the phone - still no inkling that she had any interest in helping customers). I can't even recall experiencing a complete disregard for helping customers or making a sale. Maybe business is booming and they don't need our money... This was pretty disappointing so we took our dinner order elsewhere, in the same shopping center. Oh well...
