Pretty old school Szechuan and Hunan style using good quality ingredients and a chef with good wok skills. Don't be looking for the neo Hong Kong or San Fran style here. They have always gotten my order correct. They can customize the amount of spice from mild to hot. Food has always been ready in 15mins when I get there and it's still plenty hot when I get it home. Sweet and sour soup was good. Wonton soup was awful -- weak broth and heavy, leather-like wontons. Orange chicken and Gen. Tso's chicken shared the same cardboard-like coating, with no chicken flavor, just a load of five-spice. Pork fried rice was acceptable with added soy sauce. Steamed rice was nice and fluffy. This is not a place to eat voluntarily. Anyone who enjoys this food must never have eaten a meal in a decent Chinese restaurant in a city like New York, DC, San Francisco, etc. read more

My family has been frequenting the Sunny Wok since we moved from Sarasota to Bradenton in June on 2000. Consistency is key, the food is always good, their hours of operation work for a late dinner or snack, and they are super friendly, making you feel welcomed every visit. I will not go out and eat at a Chinese restaurant due the fact I can get anything I want at Sunny Wok, fast, and at a great price, just love the place. I live 1.6 miles from the restaurant and even during dinner rush hours, I have never had to wait, I can't get there fast enough. I wish them many years of continued success, as I consider them "good neighbors!" Almost forgot, I am going to be 47 next month and hate vegetables, I was amazed last night when I ordered the spicy shrimp and lobster sauce, I tried their broccoli and loved it, for me that is amazing. read more
