This was really good. The boneless ribs were fresh and flavorful. The rice was not as flavorful. It did have a lot of meat and vegetables though. I also had an order of fried chicken wings that were fried to perfection. The service was very quick and efficient. And the restaurant was very clean although there wasn't much seating if you wanted to sit in. This is definitely more of an order to go type of establishments I would recommend eating here if you want to have good Chinese takeout. read more

I ordered Egg Foo Young Chicken combo and fried wonton. Drove 1/2 hour home to enjoy my supper, and save leftovers for tomorrow. The egg foo young tasted like it was fried in old grease, and the wontons were a meatball in a wonton wrapper, not what I expected, or have ever seen before. This is a small family run, mostly takeout establishment. There is no ambiance. The place was clean and the food was good. I had hot and sour soup which was both. The mushu pork, however, was way above average and there was a lot of it. So much in fact I had leftovers the next morning for breakfast...very tasty indeed. There are a million of these little Chinese restaurants around and this one has been here s long time...a testament to the quality of its offerings. I ordered beef lo mein noodles they were delicious coated with a good amount of sauce but a little too much meat I personally like a little more vegetables but to each their own. The food is good, the lunch specials are good but the woman that runs that place is a greedy, grouchy and cold as ice. I have been going there for years because being from the northern states it is difficult to find good chinese food down here.I like the food, that is good, but this women never smiles, tries to shake you down for every penny. It is apparent she does not like Americans and only wants to get their wallets open. I have asked several times for a certain sauce for my food, 7 different times she has given me 7 different prices. Now mind you this is a tiny little container of a special sauce. Sometimes it is .40 cents, .60 cents, $1.00 and now $2.00. The container size is half the size of your thumb! Never once in 5 years of patronizing this business has this woman smiled as a greeting or at all, never once has she said "thank you". She does NOT appreciate her customers or customer loyalty. It's located in the plaza at Lockwood Ridge and SR 70 in Braaaa-den-ton. OMG!!! I thought the other place was the best. Been going there over 16 years!!! This place blows it away! Yesterday we read the ordering process at China gourmet. It was smooth easy to understand and very fast. When we picked up the food it wasn't nearly as good. The meal started out with some delicious hot and sour soup. The next course we order spring rolls. We expected spring rolls! The delicious vegetable and shrimp bundles wrapped in rice paper that melts in your mouth. Then we continued to eat the things that serve the spring rolls. They turned out to be thumb size pieces of Oily dough with a Nana Danna find interior. It continued downhill. The mou she shrimp was burned. There's no other way to describe it. I've lived in lots of big cities with unlimited supply of good Chinese food. Unfortunately Bradenton/Sarasota seems to have a lack of decent options. My mom has lived here for 10 years and we had yet to discover something worth going back to. Then we discovered China Gourmet. We ordered the beef and broccoli and the black pepper chicken. Beef was super tender and my mom said the sauce was delicious. The chicken was chunks of real chicken and the breading was so light you couldn't even taste it. It just tasted like real, tender, delicious chicken. The sauce was spicy but not too spicy (it's black pepper chicken after all). Honestly no complaints. We will definitely be going back and trying more items. If you haven't found good Chinese food in the area then you have to give this place a try. read more

From the moment I got it in the car I could SMELL the freshness. Literally everything was so delicious, there wasn't one thing I ate that I wasn't crazy about- it was really really good. I still haven't found MY beef sechwan or crab Rangoon ANYWHERE. No offense but crab rangoons in area are like a piece of leather or taste like a pastry . We are used to a very light and crispy phyllo dough. And so far my 3 beef Szechwans have been either sweet, not spicy, or seasoned oddly. Maybe I am the problem. We requested to have brown rice instead of white rice. In the past they never charged for this change. Truthfully, We live quite a few miles away (Cortez Rd Ironwood) and make the trip when wishing some good Chinese food. They have a great lunch menu too for $6.50 that includes two extra sides including soup, rice, soda and/or egg roll. I enjoy the Mei Fun, House Special that takes me two days to finish and tastes delicious. I also like their Hot & Sour soup. Much more to try in the future! read more
