Finding great Chinese food is like finding the right woman to marry. It's not easy, but once you do, you're set. Sunny Wok is clean and what American-Chinese food should be. No sketchy mall Chinese here. It's legit local carry-out Chinese, according to my palate. I'm always impressed by the chicken lo mein, beef and broccoli, and their egg rolls. The soy sauce and duck sauce is a "help yourself" station, unlike some Chinese places that hold their condiments ransom, like it were Tamiflu in 2006. Their shrimp fried rice is also pretty good. I just finished my lunch.....it was the freshest and best tasting Chinese food that I've had in a LONG time. I had the Shrimp Chow Mein, and didn't need to add a single thing to it. It was delicious. I ordered my food, and within 15 minutes, it was hot and ready in my hands. This was my first time at Sunny Wok, but I can guarantee that it will not be the last!! Outstanding! New Chinese restaurant close to home. We called and ordered several dishes, they promised it would be ready in 10 minutes, which it was! We already had a favorite local Chinese but the food at Sunny Wok was better! Crab Rangoon, Spring Roll, Singapore Choi Mei Fun and Sweet and Sour Pork with white rice. The order came in a brown paper bag in a plastic bag so that kept it warm on the way home. All very fresh and tasty. We will definitely be back! read more

If I lived closer than 2hrs away, this would be my go to for Chinese food. Stopped in on the way home from the beach, thanks to Yelp and I am happy I did. We ordered wings and fried rice combo and and generals chicken and fried rice combo. I changed my fried rice to vegetable fried rice instead of the pork that normally comes in it. The rice was fresh and tasty. Did not have a sticky feeling at all to it. It was cooked to order. The egg roll that came with it was one of the best I've had and I think it had pork in it, but you can get veggie if you request it. The generals chicken had a crispy batter unlike some places where it is a little soggy or soft tasting. We prefer ours crispy, but it just truly depends on what your preference is. The restaurant is pretty small inside and we got there 30mins after it had been opened so we were good. I am not sure how it would be during a weekend night. read more

I stopped in while very hungry. I tend to overbuy when hungry. This was no exception. I ordered crab rangoon, crispy outside, creamy crabby not too sweet insides. I also ordered beef and broccoli which was delicious with bright clean crisp fresh veggies. I ordered the Mongolian pork which the owner suggested I substitute the pork for beef, boy was she right. Tried here on Friday night, the food was good. Japanese soup was very bland even after adding soy sauce. Was very disappointed that they didn't have spicy mustard for their egg rolls. The girl at the counter even said that customers had complained about that before..... Might be a sign to get some then! Excellent food! We tried several things. The egg rolls and spring rolls are fairly standard. The short ribs are tender and juicy with a sweet sauce on them. The curry beef was FULL or fresh vegetables that were crispy and clearly very very fresh. The sauce on the curry beef was spicy and rich and the chicken with broccoli was the same with regards to fresh vegetables and sauce. This is a fantastic place to eat and has exceptional service. I'm on crutches, and the employees offered to carry my order to my car. Top notch, timely service and delicious food. Wonderful experience all around. read more

This place is the best Asian food we've found in Augusta so far. The Spring rolls are fantastic, they don't usually even make it home. We've only ordered the Crab Rangoon twice now, but both times it was super fresh and again, the best I've found in Augusta. The Chicken Yakisoba was delicious, even if this was the only thing I liked I would be a repeat customer. I wasn't crazy about the Shrimp in the Dragon and Phoenix dish it was a little fishy smelling/tasting and the dish wasn't spicy (we got the 2 out of 3 peppers), but the flavor of the chicken and the fried rice we got with it made up for that. All in all we will be coming back to this place any time we need to get a fix of Asian food. read more

Great Chinese food! Their General Tso chicken was delicious and mildly spicy as it described. Their wontons in the wonton soup tasted freshly made. My daughters sweet and sour chicken and plain lo mein were equally delicious. Fresh meat- not dried out like you get a lot of places. For a quick dinner on a rainy night it was great! I stopped by here after a run at the Savannah Rapids since it's right down the street. This is a nice little Japanese/Chinese fusion spot that is next to wal-mart. Typically I'm hesitant on trying restaurants that try to specialize in multiple different things but I gave it a shot. I went with some of the general tso's wings and some hibachi chicken and shrimp with just veggies(no rice) to go. The wings were delicious and priced well. For the price, I was expecting the super tiny wings that you get at a lot of other Chinese food establishments but that was not the case here. The Hibachi Chicken and shrimp was good and the veggies tasted super fresh. My only knock here would be that they gave me my veggies in a seperate container not with my chicken and shrimp. Not a big problem, but would have preferred them together so the sauce would have coated the veggies as well. Their white sauce lacked flavor so don't expect much here(if you're a white sauce fan), however you probably won't need it since the dish itself has plenty of flavor. I'll be going back to try more items when I'm on that side of town at the rapids. read more

Finally found my Chinese place near Evans. I have been searching for a Chinese restaurant for the last 4 years in Evans. Let me explain why I enjoyed this place so much. So in my opinion rice is a big factor as to what the rest of the meal will be like. So normally in Evans the fried rice is yellow and just doesn't have a good flavor. The Sunny Wok fried rice had definitely a brown color to it which is what you would expect when ordering fried rice. Very rich in flavor, had some onions, egg, and bits of pork meat in it. So the white rice was a nice thick sticky rice, that had a great flavor to it as well. My main course was broccoli and chicken and my wife and kids had the sesame chicken. My food and there's as well was amazing. The texture and flavor was better than any of the Chinese restaurants in Evans. So this was my first visit but I have finally found my Chinese restaurant after almost 4 years of searching. Thank you Sunny Wok. Yum yum!! read more

This was the second time in a row that Sunny over cooked the sweet sour chicken and dried it out. I told the kid up front who took the order and he kinda blew it off. I figured that this should be one of the simpler dishes to cook and they failed. Now this is off my list. Their Gen Tso taste like sweet tomatoes- there are better versions in Augusta. I have eaten at Sunny Wok in the past and visited this past Friday and the food was just horrible. My sweet and sour chicken was very dry and over cooked and the shrimp in my shrimp fried rice were almost as gummy as mashed potatoes. I literally didn't even have to chew them because it squished down into mush, as soon as I put it in my mouth. I was told by the owner to bring the food back whenever I wanted the replacement. When I brought the food back, the owner was very rude, digging through the food asking a million and one questions. Mind you I have brought back a plate filled with food and my receipt, but he's still questioning me, like I was trying to get something for nothing. I finally told him, I didn't even want the replacement and that I would never spend my money there again! I can see if I'd brought in an empty plate. Very poor customer service and I don't live very close to this place, so I called before I came, to be sure he remembered what he told me. I will NEVER go back and even before the incident, I would have still only given the food 3 out of 5 stars. Now they get 0 stars from me! Have never written a review but felt like I had to after my experience here. Was in a hurry after work to grab something after picking up some groceries from the Walmart nextdoor. Thought I'd give them a try so I wouldn't have to stop anywhere else and it'd be quick. WRONG. I placed my order after waiting 5 minutes in line but that was fine because it was dinner time and I expected the wait. After placing my order I was told it would take 15 minutes. After 40 minutes waiting and everyone else that placed an order had already received their food and left. The cashier saw me and asked me what my order was. I told him and he came back saying they didn't have my order. I was like really? So I repeated my order and then he remembered. After another 10 minutes I got my to go order. Then he stated they overcharged me and gave me $3 in cash. I was confused since I paid by credit card. Either way I took my order cause I had to get home. Once home My husband and I were ready to eat. Food was mediocre at best. Then 3 bites in I found a hair in my food that definitely wasn't mine or my husband's or kids. Ended up throwing the whole order away and not having time to cook anything else because of how late I was after waiting on our food. Worst experience. Will never try them again. read more
