    Black pearl sushi roll
    Lori W.

Always hot and always a good price! We order the black pearl sushi roll and hibachi each time we go. The Washington Road location has our business now due to better customer service than the other location. Sushi averages 12-16 a roll and has fresh ingredients. Hibachi can average from 18-30. Tonight it was steak and scallops and they were fantastic! Due to the fact that they don't have to "put on a show" for cooking in front of you, the prices are a little less. They have increased their prices a little lately. Nice and quiet restaurant; definitely go for the food and not the ambiance.

Went for the first for my lunch break and just went in to order. The wait was a little longer to get my food "20 minutes," so don't be me and call ahead, but this was my first time and didn't have a menu. I ordered the gyoza and fried cream cheese and crab sushi, and omgosh, it was freaking delicious!!!! Definitely will come back here, but I will order ahead, lol.

Overall: 4.5 Service: 4.5 Food: 5 Value: 4.5 Atmosphere: 4 Come back again? YES! I love Toki! I have dined there for at least seven times now. I highly recommend their hibachi entrees, especially with teriyaki chicken. Their teriyaki chicken is the best I have ever had - it's so tender and full of flavor. Their portions are pretty large too, so it's good value! The food are not cheap but are not pricy either, and they taste amazing! Overall, this is my go-to restaurant for Japanese food and hibachi, and I would definitely come back again!

So great!! Waitress was very nice and helpful. Got a very large amount of food for a great price!

Small portion lunch sushi and roll. Just okay.

Always welcoming and pleasant service when I come in, however I'm just not a fan of tv's playing sports or music playing broadway tunes. It's really a good deal with most meals between $10- $18. For bento boxes or hibachi dinners. Most entrees will include a soup and salad. I actually like both dressings for the salad - so I order the white sauce and the ginger/carrot on the sides to use for whatever I'm eating. The grilled salmon in the bento box was just a tad dry for my liking. The rib eye and the scallop dishes were perfectly grilled as they were moist and flavorful. Rice and vegetables are nicely seasoned. I prefer the miso soup over the onion broth. Just more Asian flavorful experience. The sushi are nice sizes and freshly made. I like that the shrimp tempura was warm and crunchy inside the roll. If you want spicer, add wasabi on top of your bite and litely dip into your soy. I prefer this method of the roll rather than mixing the wasabi in with your soy. Much better flavorful bite of the roll you're eating. Just my palette opinion! I was taught this method from highly trained sushi chefs in Japan that adding wasabi to each bite and gently dabbing a little soy is a unique way to enjoy the flavor of whatever fish you are eating... Not doused with a soy/wasabi mixture! I got it! However, you eat it however you like... You paid for it! //// Update. June8 2021. 16 months away due to Covid19 And decided to try lunch. Service friendly. Albeit, I want too thrilled with small dish of lunch sushi and nigiri. Very small portions. And thought a little dry for the sashimi. House ginger dressing is good for salad. My friend ordered shrimp tempura. But it came out grilled shrimp. It's was edible. Not my favorite place after today.

The sushi was as delicious as it was beautiful. Service was exceptional. If you love Sushi this is the place to go in the CSRA.

To beat the crowds I came in the day before and the place was pretty packed still for a weekend, but the wait was hardly 10 minutes. It seemed like a very hometown family style joint, with lots of families gathering and friends sharing meals together like this was the regular spot. The menu is tacked with tons of phenomenal options, had to get calamari as that's a family favorite, along with a crap spinach dip that was delicious. With this being a steakhouse, I had to get a steak and I haven't seen prime rib offered at too many places so I had to get that. All the food we worse was delicious and came out in good time despite how busy the place was. My only concern was my drink, which was a Old Fashioned and it tasted like straight bourbon. Don't get me wrong I love bourbon, but I like an old fashioned and that was just awful. The drink also had the same ice you'd put in a soda, which shows how lazy the drinks are made but I know now to stick with what they are good at which is steak.

Speaking of marinades, my center cut filet arrived as nature intended: completely unseasoned. Salt and pepper are out there, guys. They're not expensive. The cook temp was spot on - medium well, nailed it - so credit where it's due. But a perfectly cooked piece of nothing is still nothing. The grilled mushrooms and onions were... brave. I'm not sure what grill they were introduced to, but it must have been a brief and awkward meeting. Seasoning was also conspicuously absent here, and I'd bet good money those mushrooms started life in a can. They have a certain "institutional" quality that's hard to fake. Or maybe easy to fake, actually. The kids, however, were thrilled with the Sliderz - which tells you something. Either the bar is lower on the kids menu, or my children have better judgment than I gave them credit for. Reasonably priced, which is probably the nicest thing I can say. You get what you pay for - and occasionally, you get less.
