This is just a sit down restaurant where they bring out the food for you, but the quality of the food is the same as if you were at a typical hibachi restaurant. I ordered the steak and shrimp hibachi ($23) and my friend ordered a shrimp hibachi with double rice. The fried rice doesn't have vegetables or anything, so I was slightly disappointed. The steak was good, as well as the shrimp, but the ratio between steak and shrimp were uneven. The vegetables were good too. The hibachi combo comes with soup and salad, so that's a plus. Overall, I think I prefer a typical hibachi restaurant where they make the food in front of you, but it's not a bad place to go. read more

Toki is our go-to for Japanese food. My daughter, granddaughter, and I usually get sushi and our husbands can order their hibachi (teppanyaki). The service is always great and they check back often to see if we are in need of anything. We usually sit in the side corner since there's 5 of us so it's usually pretty quiet. I highly recommend Toki for lovers of Japanese food. read more

Always hot and always a good price! We order the black pearl sushi roll and hibachi each time we go. The Washington Road location has our business now due to better customer service than the other location. Sushi averages 12-16 a roll and has fresh ingredients. Hibachi can average from 18-30. Tonight it was steak and scallops and they were fantastic! Due to the fact that they don't have to "put on a show" for cooking in front of you, the prices are a little less. Today when I first arrived to the restaurant I went to use the restroom and there was a HUGE roach crawling on the floor in the hallway by the bathroom. Our food came out but my appetite was diminished after seeing the roach. When eating my dinner some of my shrimp still had shell pieces on them which would be fine if that's how they were supposed to come but it's not. Had 8 people for supper for my oldest grandson. His first visit back home from Europe in 5 years. So a special Occasion. Service was outstanding. Food came in a timely manner. Huge amount of food on each plate. We started with soup and salad. Both were delicious. The entrays all came with grilled vegetables,and grilled rice. Very delicious and I dare anyone to eat it all. The meats were sirloin steaks, teriyaki chicken,and filet mingon and shrimp. The food was great for the most part. My filet mingon was cooked well done I mean really well well done, which made the steak inedible. Could not even tell if it was filet mingon or sirloin. My granddaughter had sushi rolls and a salad. Always welcoming and pleasant service when I come in, however I'm just not a fan of tv's playing sports or music playing broadway tunes. It's really a good deal with most meals between $10- $18. For bento boxes or hibachi dinners. Most entrees will include a soup and salad. I actually like both dressings for the salad - so I order the white sauce and the ginger/carrot on the sides to use for whatever I'm eating. The grilled salmon in the bento box was just a tad dry for my liking. The rib eye and the scallop dishes were perfectly grilled as they were moist and flavorful. Rice and vegetables are nicely seasoned. I prefer the miso soup over the onion broth. Just more Asian flavorful experience. The sushi are nice sizes and freshly made. I like that the shrimp tempura was warm and crunchy inside the roll. If you want spicer, add wasabi on top of your bite and litely dip into your soy. I prefer this method of the roll rather than mixing the wasabi in with your soy. Much better flavorful bite of the roll you're eating. Just my palette opinion! I was taught this method from highly trained sushi chefs in Japan that adding wasabi to each bite and gently dabbing a little soy is a unique way to enjoy the flavor of whatever fish you are eating... Not doused with a soy/wasabi mixture! I got it! However, you eat it however you like... You paid for it! //// Update. June8 2021. 16 months away due to Covid19 And decided to try lunch. This place is a solid 3 stars. Everything is just o.k. The service has mostly been alright although I've noticed a lot of times the staff has what I like to call stank attitude. I don't know what that's about. Anyway, in regards to the food, the quality isn't the best but it'll do. For example, they slice the fish for the nigiri super thin (pictured.) Tonight I ordered take out and being that it was my first real meal of the day, I inhaled half of it before remembering to take pictures. It definitely filled me up, but I wouldn't quite say that I was satisfied. One thing I do like that they offer here is amaebi, which is sweet spotted prawns. They'll even deep fry the heads for you, if you're into that. They didn't have it tonight, though. The scallops were nicely seared and the vegetables and rice were ample and well-cooked. The provided me with one small container of Yum-yum sauce. Since this was take-out there was no service although the person at the cash register was very polite. The food had a nice depth of flavor and was well-seasoned. Wow...this place exceeded our expectations! We started with the soup and salad. Both were awesome. The broth was super flavorful, beyond any I have had before. Next we had the spring rolls and an Amazing roll. The spring rolls tasted fresher than any we've found in the area and the roll was simply...amazing! Finally we had the hibachi with medium well steak and Shrimp and hibachi with medium filet mignon and Shrimp. Both were sooooo tasty. The beef and Shrimp were cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. Last but not least the service - absolutely perfect. Friendly from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. I love sushi with all my heart but the hibachi here is what brings my husband back. I can't get him to eat sushi with me unless we've exhausted every other option because as he puts it, "it's not filling enough." I'm grateful for the hibachi option and not only is tasty but it is always cooked to the right temp and can feed two people. I always take the leftover filet and feed our entitled dog as a treat. The ambience, food and service are excellent. I love that you can actually see into the kitchen where they are making your cooked dish in one spot and watch the sushi chef in another. Started with the Miso soup and seaweed salad. Very tasty. Did find it interesting that I had to request chopsticks, but assume that is just based on the typical clientele not using them. Not sure.. The Tuna Samba is excellent. A sweet and peppery treat. If you do not like lots of black pepper, avoid the dish, as the pepper taste stays with you. The Yellowtail Jalapeño dish was very tasty without any heat from the peppers at all. Could have been a little hotter for me, but overall, this dish can be enjoyed by everyone without fear from the peppers. The Toki Special Roll was so flavorful that putting soy or wasabi on it actually took away from the flavor. The Teriyaki Chicken Bento box was very good, and I loved the tempura vegetables. The only slight disappointment was that while I had them substitute the Spicy Tuna roll for the California Roll, the flavor of the spicy tuna was not spicy at all. As a matter of fact, while I did like the addition of the crunchy tempura flakes to the roll, it had the least flavor of all the items I ate tonight. Over all a great and filling occasion. I am a frequent diner at this restaurant because the food and service are good and the prices are reasonable. Tonight we had the Hibachi shrimp and a Bento box. Everything was very good, the Vegetable Tempura in the Bento box was especially so. Our server must have been new. He was polite but not very efficient. He didn't set the table, just piled silverware and napkins at the end. It may seem minor, but the chopsticks they provide are very low quality. If you eat with them frequently you will understand.
