We dropped in for a $100 Barbeque Pulled Pork sandwich. And a dinner. I had heard about this place as a pilot and wanted to fly out. To get there from DeKalb by air, I had to dog-leg the flight over Cushing Field (to stay out of the Aurora and Lockport airspace) and then head east from there. Important note for pilots: If you are landing, try to make it to 9/27, or you'll have a long taxi up to the terminal where the restaurant is at. Once you are there (by AIR), you'll go to the far left end of the big building (you can see the beer signs in the window). Make sure you remember the CTAF (you'll need it to get back on the airport), and go through the gate, go up the elevator, and walk into the restaurant. Ambiance-wise, this place has large windows, a very large bar, a Namco Ms. Pac Man / Galaga game, bathrooms that are reasonably clean, some gambling machines, and decent food. I ordered their Pulled Pork Sandwich, which came with french fries. My wife ordered the Pulled Pork Plate, which came with cole slaw, garlic toast (2 pieces) and a green bean caserole. I ordered the pulled Pork Sandwich, and I ordered it spicy. It was not spicy by any definition. The amount of barbeque sauce provided was around a 1/2 of a shot glass. It was not enough. With that said, the barbeque was dry and needed the barbeque sauce. The fries were nice and fresh. My wife had the Pulled Pork Dinner. I sampled her cole slaw (with paprika, very good) and the green bean casserole - which seemed to use canned green beans, ugh. Very soft, the mouth feel was b l a h. Service was solid. We were greeted (walk in, no sign, sit where you want), and helpful. The food just wasn't as good as other barbeque places. The food came out cold and tasted like it was reheated in the microwave. It was not freshly cooked. I ordered the barbecue pulled pork dinner plate, and the Texas toast was also heavily burnt. Service took forever and there was only one lady working for the whole restaurant, we were told she couldn't get us refills, but to come up to the bar and you could do it yourself. I would not go here unless you are only stopping in for a drink at the bar. read more

A tucked out-of-the-way place. Great views from the second floor of this restaurant location. The food is pretty good. I had the full slab of ribs without any bbq sauce. Very tasty. ( have your bbq sauce on the side, a very generous amount is slathered on if not requested. Nothing hides the taste of good ribs like too much bbq sauce. Very nice staff and people. Popped in for a few beers and dinner, haven't been since it was Shannon's Landing and you could smoke inside still. The layout is still the same. Had some nachos which were nice, little too much sauce but still good. AJ the bartender is very friendly and they play great music while sports are on the TV. First of all they had a band which is why we went to this place to hear the music they had an outfit that's there the second Friday of every month called the cruisers and they were good. My wife and I danced to them and they played 5060s type of music, no hard rock. The food wasn't bad. I'm gonna start off by saying that, but it wasn't to our taste when somebody cook salmon. They should take the skin off the salmon this outfit didn't do it and then they put lemon sauce on which I didn't care for the salad was terrific, not so much. It looked like it had been cooking for several days. I tasted it and it didn't have red sauce. It had an Alfredo sauce or something else was not to my taste again somebody else might love it, but I didn't care for it was decent pecan pie was wonderful, so I have to give it a three star but I will try it again and we'll go back another night from Music. It's kind of an unusual place. There's no ground floor when you walk into a vestibule. You have to take an elevator to the second floor and we watched some helicopters landing and taking off because it's part of an airport, so it's an experience to go there. The food was cold and bad quality. The sandwiches came with fries or cole slaw and baked beans. I received the coleslaw, but not the baked beans. Food came out in waves. I was the second to order at our table and the last to receive my food. Others were finished eating before my food came out. Great little joint for barbeque. Although on the small side, it is big on flavor! This is my 4th time here. I try to have something different every time. The brisket is a solid choice. Sauce has a deep flavor that is not too sweet, which is perfect. Sides are good. I had the red beans and rice. Although not a traditional red beans and rice, it is very good. Corn bread was good, moist and delicious. They are very good about changing specials often, from different drinks and beers to seasonal specials. Have been frequenting Lynnie Ques for a long time and finally remembered to review it. Very nice and friendly employees to deal with. Called up and placed the order. One item was possibly out, but they checked and still had some for my order which was ready in 10 minutes. First item was the beef brisket plate with sides of corn souffle and potato salad. The amounts served were more than ample. Second was a pulled pork sandwich which also had a good portion of pulled pork. And the pulled pork was not swimming in bbq sauce. Next was the Carolina BBQ burger which has bacon and a little spicyness to it. And to finish it all, an order of bread pudding, which was moist and warm. Lynnie Que's is a great place to have lunch while you're in Lansing. The interior is small, with only two seats inside to dine at a small counter, but is filled with adorable pig kitsch. The menus are hanging in burnt wood signs on the wall. It's a very homey, rustic looking little take away shop. The owner, Lynn, is a lovely woman who loves making customers happy. All of their lunch box special sandwiches are $5.99 and come with either coleslaw and baked beans or french fries. They didn't used to offer fried foods, so this is relatively new to me! The best lunch boxes, in my opinion, are the brisket sandwich with mild sauce, and the BBQ meatloaf sandwich, which is meatloaf with cheese and BBQ sauce served on garlic toast. They also offer 5 for 5 sandwich specials on BBQ pulled pork and sloppy joes. It doesn't get better than that! Their pulled pork is always juicy, smokey, and delicious. Their dinner plates are more expensive at $8.50. They're not sandwiches but actual meals, and come with your choice of two sides. I recommend the brisket (again- it's one of my favorite things here!) or the rib pieces, which are done in the oven and are super good. The sides are hit and miss. I'd most recommend the corn souffle, which is a mix of corn and cream cheese and it's so fluffy and rich... I still get cravings for an obscene amount of this side dish! The pepper jack mac is another side dish worth getting, it's creamy with just the right amount of spice. I also like their coleslaw, baked beans, sweet potato casserole, and mashed potatoes and gravy. You can also buy whole smoked chickens, full slabs of ribs, and meats by the pound. You also can't go wrong with the lemon cake or peach cobbler- though the cobbler is more cakey than most other cobblers. I am not sure if they still sell banana bread, but if they do, pick up a mini loaf of that as well! read more

I had the pot roast sandwich with a side of marinated beets. The pot roast was super tender and tasted great with the side of gravy. I ordered take out and put some horseradish on the sandwich. We decided to go out on a limb and try out a place we've never tried before the other day. We got several different dishes to sample a bit of everything and we were seriously disappointed. The brisket was spoiled, the chicken and dumpling soup smelled off too and there was so much sauce you couldn't even taste the meat. My mom called to inform the woman who was working there that the food was spoiled and was told we would receive a call back but that was two days ago and we still haven't heard back. I don't like leaving bad reviews especially with everything going on in the world right now but spoiled food is unacceptable, especially when the food is kinda pricey. First time we've eaten there. Good menu selection. Roasted Brussel sprouts not what I expected- a few Brussel sprouts [over-cooked] on top of a tossed salad; good salad, with cranberries & walnuts. Special of 1/2 slab of BBQ ribs, piece of corn, some cole slaw, and fries or tater tots. Ribs were cold. Waitstaff was good. Nice view of Lansing airport. Background music was fine for most of the time; by 7:45 or so, the piped in music [no live music] was way too loud. We asked if it could be turned down a bit; didn't happen. Took home some leftovers; very sad that they have large Styrofoam boxes which can't be recycled in our town; that's disappointing. read more

Food was excellent. This was the first time that we have been to this restaurant and we were not disappointed. My husband and I both had the rib tips which were plentiful and extremely saucy. I had the jack Mac & cheese which was delicious - had a little bite to it but was delicious. Husband had the red beans and rice and said that was delicious as well. The meats are off the hook; the pulled pork is my favorite. You can't beat their five for $5 sandwiches (sloppy joes or pulled pork) for a quick, delicious dinner. Went to see the new venue at the Lansing Airport location. The ambiance was perfect very warm and relaxing. The staff was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the window view of the airport (I should have taken a picture). The food was awesome. Our party ordered the pulled pork sandwich with fries, the chicken sandwich with fries. Went to Lynnie q's for dinner a few times, wanted to give it a fair chance - pork ok - fries from frozen ore ida , had the burger not fresh , frozen and tasted old - was not good- how do u screw up a burger- onion rings soggy and NOT FRESH ! Have had Bourbon chicken at many restaurants, which were excellent. Lynnies was bad, really bad. A half chicken came with bourbon sauce drizzled over it. The skin was like rubber, not cooked at all. I had to pull all the skin off and there went the sauce with it. Asked for some sauce and received maple syrup instead, Did get the right sauce and was able to eat the chicken. The chicken seamed to be cooked by pressure cooker or slow cooker. Nothing BBQ about it. Disappointed in both of our meals and will not return. Back to Chuck's in Burbank.. read more

The meat is definitely frozen, not fresh. You can tell by the taste and smell it was defrosted right before it came out. Wouldn't waste your time here if you're looking for good barbecue. read more
