Stopped by for late Sunday brunch with the family. This place did not disappoint! My girls absolutely loved the hot chocolate, best in town! Strawberry cheesecake was the best I've ever had and I don't even have a sweet tooth. I absolutely loved this plate. So fluffy, not overly sweet. I'm a plain pancake type of girl and this did not disappoint! The hash browns here were outstanding, super crispy without overly cooked. My girls did not want to share. I had an expression martini because who does brunch without one? It was perfect. I had the spinach and tomato egg benefit and I loved their twist on the English muffin. - apple chicken sausage is a must have. My 5 year old did not share! - don't leave without the bacon, touch of maple and cooked to perfection. I find breakfast in Boston so underrated and this place was exactly what my family has been looking for! Bathrooms were super clean and the garage has free parking for up to 3hours. Take the family bowling at urban next door after! Sunnyside, we will be back!!!

I am glad I tried this all day brunch cafe. The outdoor seating is super cute, and the atmosphere both inside and outside is warm and inviting. It was a very nice ambience. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. My waiter was very friendly and attentive. The cookies and cream pancakes were amazing. It was a great brunch spot!

I love the concept of an all-day brunch cafe and wish there was more of them in the medford/somerville area. I visited with a friend for my birthday and it was delightful. It was packed at 11:30 on a monday (memorial day), so we were sat in the back room. The ambiance was still great back there but service took forever, probably 25+ minutes just for someone to come to our table. Our server was an angel and so apologetic for the wait. It was definitely not his fault because it seemed he was the only server for the whole place, so just a staffing issue. He comped something for us to make up for it and it was so appreciated it. We started with pomegranate mimosas and the french toast sticks which were both so yummy and both a great size. I love the idea of brunch appetizers! I had the smoked salmon benedict as my main. I loved the hashbrown circles and the taste was great but I was expecting poached eggs like a traditional benedict. Still enjoyed it nonetheless and will definitely be back next time I'm in the mood for a boozy brunch.

Great service. Loved the ambiance with bright colors and the toy decor. Service was great as well.

What an interesting dining experience. We had a 930 am reservation and were seated promptly. Water was brought to the table. Reviewed the menu and I must say, was disappointed by the limited options. Make the very best of the experience. Order for baked potato hash. It was five or six large tator tots with cold congealed cheese on top. Not really edible. And my friend did not want me to send it back but that would have been the correct choice. Within literally minutes our entrees came. She had the red velvet pancakes and I the egg white omelet with english muffins. The pancakes were delicious and portions huge. My omelet was good but not special. What was curious was the english muffins that came pre buttered and no jams or jellies. They were good but no condiments. When I asked the server points to a container of Smucker jams, like you would get at Ihop. Also the food came to the table warm but not hot. The vibe in the place is great for kids. Last the service was spotty at best. In the end I had to flag down the server for a check. So food was very uneven and service could have been much better.

    CARAMEL & BANANA FRENCH TOAST

Food: 11/10, no complaints. My egg white omelette was delicious, and so was the caramel banana French toast. Omg and the hot chocolate is to die for. Service: This is where I was kind of annoyed. The lady taking our order misunderstood us a few times. I told her if there isn't a decaf latte then I didn't want one, and she still brought me one. Then my friend asked for a to go box for me, and she didn't get the memo. She also kept trying to come back to get us to pay, when one of us went to the bathroom. Also they get really packed on the weekends and unfortunately we were asked to leave (my friends and I were just enjoying each other's company, but yes we are slow people lol). I understood that the other party needed to be seated though. Ambiance: Super cute, very clean. Lots of natural sunlight and plenty of seating.

Me and my fiancé were looking for a brunch restaurant and found Sunnyside. We were able to get a table without much of a wait. I love the painting on the way. I had to take a photo of the artwork. I ordered a Cranberry juice, the Western Omelette with Potato Hash Browns and no toast. If only you could substitute the toast for a Pancake even if it's a up-charge, that would have been great. I wish a meat option came with this order. I ended up ordering a Pancake and additional side of Bacon. Everything was really good. Only issue I had was I basically had to order 2 meals to create 1 meal which makes it pricey.

    CLASSIC FRENCH TOAST

Arrived Saturday around 11. Parked in garage for free (less than 2 hours is free). Had to sit at the bar (no reservation). Large seating area. Family friendly but make a rez. Staff were friendly and attentive. Ordered classic French toast and my daughter ordered birthday cake pancakes. Quite possibly the best French toast I've had in years. That is my new go to place for breakfast. Can't wait to go back.

My sister took me to Sunnyside All Day Brunch Café in Boston for an early birthday brunch, and I was excited to try it as I'd heard from a few other girls that it was really good! They have outdoor seating, but since it was already pretty warm out (and I sweat ), we chose to sit inside. The place is super cute and decorative, with fun touches like a table full of games and a Rubik's cube inspired wall design. I started with a hot coffee, and the menu had a ton of options. I don't usually go for pancakes, so I was happy to see French toast and waffles on the menu too. I went back and forth between the cookie dough French toast and the chicken & waffles, even though I wasn't totally sold on the maple barbecue syrup it came with. Still, I took the risk and ordered it! We also got the Million Dollar Bacon appetizer because it looked cool when other people would order it. It ended up being one of my favorite things. Sweet, crispy, and just really delicious. My sister ordered the Cookie Dough French Toast, which looked amazing and it tasted amazing (she let me try it). We both got mimosa flights which contained four different flavors, but honestly, they all kind of tasted the same since the champagne overpowered the mixers, not necessarily a bad thing, just something to know. My chicken was crispy, juicy, and tender so so so good! As I guessed, the maple BBQ syrup combo wasn't my favorite, and since it's already poured on the plate, it was hard to avoid. But I still ate most of it and enjoyed it overall. Our server Carlos was super attentive, and we never felt rushed, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. I was treated to a sweet cotton candy ice cream dessert with a candle for my birthday. It was so sweet and appreciated! Definitely a great brunch spot, I'd come back to try something new next time!

The food was delicious, the hash browns were my favorite! The Bloody Mary and the espresso martini were also really well made! We were able to be seated right away and the food came out very fast!

We had made reservations and that went very well for us as some people in our party arrived before and were allowed to get a table. I was a little disappointed with their coffee and juice selection, there wasn't much variety. The service was kind of slow and we had to ask the server for refills on coffee, it wasn't offered, not sure if that's their policy though. The food was really good and everyone enjoyed their meals. We ordered several of their Farmer's Breakfasts and the portions were enormous. The ambiance reminds me of a similar vibe to another all day Brunch restaurant. It is spacious with decorations all around that don't have a set "mood/tone". I personally would not come back just because of the lack of variety, in my opinion, but it was great for a first try.

    COOKIE DOUGH WAFFLE

Breakfast at Sunnyside was easy to plan from afar. We were coming to Boston from Maine and needed a place to eat before heading to Harvard. The location was easy to navigate- hardly any traffic, had FREE garage parking (what?!) and offered reservations. It honestly didn't feel like we were in the midst of the city! My son enjoyed his cookie dough waffle and I thought the caramel banana french toast was delicious. My daughter didn't like the chicken and waffles as much as she had hoped. The bbq sauce from the chicken is also drizzled over the waffle and that just made for a weird flavor profile. It would have been better to have syrup from the waffle on the chicken, if one condiment was to be chosen. The ovewhelming hot chocolate was loaded with a nice thick layer of fluff. It stayed hot for so long that he was unable to drink it with his meal so we actually took it with us in a disposable cup. Service was fast and friendly. Games were available to keep the kids busy. The location was clean. I would say that the prices were a bit inflated considering the baseline cost to make a pancake/waffle/frenchtoast. It cost me $78 (before tip) for the three of us and I only had water to drink. Overall, we had a nice visit and everything worked out perfectly for timing and location.

Didn't have a reservation, but was immediately sat at the bar. Really cool environment. Staff was extremely nice, especially the bartender. He gave us French toast sticks and shots of espresso martinis on the house! Everyone was happy with their meal. I got the western omelette which was delicious. My favorite was the mini hash browns it came with! I definitely recommend coming here for brunch and drinks.

I am disappointed, from the very start to the end my experience was quite bad. The kitchen did not allow a bread substitution for the sandwich we ordered, they did not do waffles at this location either, and when we got our food the portion sizes were very small. The salmon was very overpriced for how much they offered; $27 for a piece of salmon only a few inches across was insulting, but apparently that is just how it is served there (picture below, you can see the pieces of broccoli are almost as big as the fish!) The other dish we got was the chicken sandwich, which is cut into two halves. The first half was normal but there was basically no chicken on the second half of the sandwich, it was essentially all bread. We brought it up to a manager and they got us a new piece of chicken, which fit entirely alongside the old piece of chicken on the bun because it was so small. On top of that we had to wait around nearly half an hour after finishing and had to flag down a waiter to get our check and go. The service overall was very slow. I will never come back to this restaurant.

Nothing sounds more authentic than Theo's Cozy Corner. Since this was our first time in the area, we decided to drive there. Honestly, we probably could have gotten here faster if we walked. Parking is quite challenging. Luckily we found a 2 hour parking spot. And we did end up walking through the neighborhood to get there. The name, Cozy Corner is the perfect visual of this joint. It quaint, intimate and cozy. There's a handful of tables. A few bar chairs at the breakfast bar. With limited seating, we were lucky and got a table before everyone decided to pop up. It got busy super fast with guests also waiting outside. After checking out the menu, I got the steak omelet. My daughter got the eggs florentine. With her meal, coffee comes with it. She doesn't drink coffee so I took the coffee and she got an orange juice. We got our drinks and chilled till our food came out. I was quite surprised that potatoes don't automatically come with my omelet. For 23 bucks, you'd think that a few potatoes would be included. So my plate looked pretty basic with just my omelet. Maybe I have been spoiled by all my local restaurants back home to be automatically expecting them on my plate. But 4 extra bucks for potatoes was a hard pass for me. My omelet was good. There was peppers, mushrooms and cheese. Plenty of steak and it was tender. Cheese was melty in the middle. Peppers gave it a nice crunchy element to it. The mushrooms were canned but were still a nice addition. It was seasoned nicely. Overall it was a good omelet but that's all it was, just a steak omelet. It did get busy super fast so I didn't get a refill on my coffee. A refill would have been nice but they were juggling a handful of people and never was checked on. My food was good. My daughter enjoyed your florentine. Breakfast here was a great start to my stay here in Boston. I know this joint has been around for a long time ago it's great I got to experience it with my daughter.

As of August 2026, the website lists the burrito as $14, but the price on the in-person menu was $16. I would give the burrito 4 out of 5 stars because of the way it was wrapped - about a third of the burrito was just egg and cheese and the toppings (avocado, red onion, hash browns, salsa verde, crema) were crammed on the other side of the burrito. If there was a way for the burrito to be wrapped so all the ingredients were more evenly distributed - this would easily be a 5/5 breakfast burrito. One random detail that stuck out to me was that their drinks in their refrigerator were very cold - no lukewarm sodas here! I would come back here to try their signature "Fancy" sandwich. Overall, this is a very solid breakfast spot in Boston!

I'm not sure what makes it as Mediterranean as its description, as I've been to tons of Mediterranean places around the world, and they're usually obvious. For Eva? I dunno. Maybe the access to more Mediterranean type sunlight in the summer? Anyway, service is friendly, but could use some training. I never find it useful when staff tell me certain dishes are "good" and "their favorite". I appreciate the sentiment, but a little more description would be good. What's the flavor like? Why is your calamari unique? etc, etc. I had the Tuna Tartare and Calamari for appies. The tuna was decent, but no real character. I eat this daily in LA and Vegas, and almost every restaurant has their unique twist. Eva's is decent, but vanilla. The calamari is as good as expected for Boston- a city I consider as among the best in the country for this dish. You'd be surprised how many cities (even Los Angeles) can't get it right for such a simple recipe. Eva represents. I like that. The tuna sandwich was a disappointment. I love seared rare tuna sandwiches- something the West coast has mastered- but here, the bread overpowered the tuna. In fact, I don't think I was able to actually taste it. It reminded me of my first date with the hottest cheerleader in highschool, who turned out to be the worst kisser ever. Her name was Susan. I think i'll rename their tuna sandwich "Susan". I'd rather you add a couple more bucks to the price, and pump up the tuna, then ever re-order this disappointment. I'm willing to come back and try other menu items, but only if someone else invites me.
