Stayed down the street while in Phoenix/Mesa and looking in the area for a breakfast spot - we found this "gem". We arrived during the week at around 8:00AM for breakfast - it was packed and a wait outside. Hmmm - this must be good ! They sat us after about 15 minutes - not too bad. It's not that large inside, but they have packed as many tables as possible in the space. Our server came over immediately and took our drink order - the usual - coffee and chocolate milk ! When I go to a new place, I always order the classic type of breakfast including scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast. We also ordered French Toast. The orders came quickly - seemed like no wait ! Great food ! Nice and hot, bacon was crunchy and great smoky flavor, and plenty of food ! Ordered takeout from Sunnyside Breakfast today. When you order online, the site does not give you a final total. Your confirmation email also does not give you a final total. Our subtotal was $45.5. When I went to pick it up, the total was $52.53 which seemed high. I asked about the difference in total when I went to sign and they said the total online did not include tax. I was in a hurry and couldn't remember what the exact tax was. Once I got home I looked it up. Mesa sales tax is 8.3%. Our total should have been $49.28. The total when I picked it up was $52.53 a difference of $3.25. We also were missing part of our order when we got home. Remember to double check your total and your order, if you come here. We can across this cute little spot in Mesa. The wait wasn't too long and the customer service was good. I ordered the Banana Nutella Pancakes and the hubby ordered the chorizo omelette. The food was alright. We felt like the chorizo omelette had an interesting taste, it wasn't our favorite. The banana Nutella Pancakes was tasty, but on the sweeter side. Then they/she have us seated separately from every body. Got us seated in a corner room with 4 tables that looks like a storage room with a moldy smell, while there's 5-6 tables that are still empty in the main room. read more

This was my first time here and overall, it was good. The staff is extremely friendly, the drinks were delightful and my complicated order was made correctly. I ordered the Classy Champagne and Plain Jane Benedict with spinach and avocado, tomatoes and hollandaise on the side. Their house made herb focaccia bread was delicious! The one thing I would change would be the poached eggs. I prefer poached eggs to be running and these were cooked medium to hard. Aside from that, breakfast was delightful. Outstanding! I ordered the Salmon Benedict and it was amazing!! You need to try it, even if you aren't a huge Salmon lover. The Salmon is cured, so it has a great flavor. My wife and I loved this place and would go periodically. This morning we tried to drop in for breakfast. We stood there waiting close to 10 minutes at the hostess stand as the sign instructed us to do. Not a single employee that walked past us even acknowledged that we were there. Quite a few of them looked at us, and even the ones without masks didn't smile. I get that it is busy, but simple courtesy of letting us know they'll be with us in a bit would have gone a long way.
