I had an awesome breakfast at Mike's family restaurant on Tuesday morning. I always get the works with fruit and toast. Food was delicious. The service was right there and it's kind of the old school café restaurant that you see along the road that's always putting out great food and always busy.

Although the restaurant is cute, and service was amazing, the food was lackluster at best. The winner really was the blueberry pancake(s) which came in a stack of 3 large pancakes. Those were fluffy and hot with big blueberries, however, they were served with two small packages of fake butter, and they had been melted and reset. The potato's were soggy and tasted of oil with very little seasoning. My biggest heartbreak was the biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was dense and dry, and the gravy was a bacon based which tasted of that stale bacon fat flavor. I did see many things come past us, like a very stuffed omelette and a really good looking club sandwich with fries that the guest exclaimed were too hot to eat right away (in a good way). So I'm not writing this place off completely, again, staff was so sweet and the place is a place you would take your grandma too, so maybe we just didn't order well!

Mikey's Family Restaurant is like slipping into your grandpa's old military jacket--worn, familiar, and full of history. There's a distinct atmosphere, a certain warmth that instantly wraps you up in nostalgia. I ordered the corned beef hash--not the best I've ever had, but something about it just felt like home.

Blueberry pancakes and waffles Yum Yum Yum! Linda really likes the pancakes! One of the best she says. We will definitely come back here.

One of our favorite waitresses from one of our old places we used to go is here now and made us so happy she remembered us service is great. The ambience is cute. We love it here.

Was a great breakfast, had the chicken fried steak and eggs, very good. Waitress was extremely nice and most importantly the coffee was really good :)

My gauge for breakfast restaurants is how good the food tastes compared to what I can make at home. Mikey's just didn't cut it. Everything was criminally under-seasoned and there were too many signs of cost-cutting-corners that came out in the quality of food and accompaniments. Greasy eggs, bland potatoes that had a burnt oil taste, imitation community syrup on the table, dry and flavorless french toast, and thin, cheap bacon that tasted like pure grease. Today may be the first day I've ever said "no" to bacon. Service was good, and without considering lack of seasoning, the food was well-cooked, but the food quality wasn't even up to par with the largest major 24-hour breakfast chain on every corner across America (which we avoid if at all possible). Disappointing, as we do enjoy greasy-spoon hidden gems, as long as the food actually makes us reminisce of grandma's cooking or those crispy-edged pancakes and fresh eggs fired up from camping stoves. Mikey's didn't even come close.

    So delicious!

My aunt, sister and I had just finished a morning hike and were looking to snag breakfast on the way home. We came across this lil gem and were so happy that we did! Great food and nice people. Must be a place that has their regulars because everyone seemed to know everyone. We really enjoyed our visit and I look forward to bringing my daughter for breakfast sometime soon. :)

Was SOLD STEAK AND EGGS I GOT A HAMBURGER PATTY AND EGGS FOR 17$ you tell me what you see here

I loved this placed when I first moved to Mesa I love supporting small businesses but this is the last time I'm ever coming back I asked for steak and eggs and they gave me a HAMBURGER BEEF PATTY CLAIMING IT WAS STEAK AND EGGS 17$ for over cooked home fries with a patty they had the nerve to still say it was a steak when I confronted server I was very pissed it wasn't what I ordered I been here at least a good 40 times and won't ever be back!!!!! They need to change menu and specify it's not even a steak in the steak and eggs It's hamburger patty and eggs almost looked like spam if they had ran out of steak they could have just told me since the beginning always have a party of 6 or more won't ever be back for this mediocre so called steak and eggs won't be surprised if they don't make it past this year open I'm sad I have to find a new brunch spot for the weekend with the kids If I could give ZERO STARS I WOULD UNFORTUNATELY I HAVE TO LEAVE A STAR Can't forget how much hair was in each plate from the cooks or someone in the back Look at your food closely before you do order you've been warned

Small family owned diner. Nothing fancy or special about this place but they serve standard breakfast. Omelet I had was just okay but biscuits and gravy tasted good. Friendly and fast service. Cash is preferred and they do charge $1 for using credit card.

I'd been meaning to try this location after seeing a few of my fellow Yelper friends review this place. Just like they said, this place did not disappoint! Serving up quality diner food with friendly service, classic hits, and blast from the past decor. What We Ordered: - Steak & Eggs: Under $20?! Count me in! Seasoned well and cooked perfectly to order for both the over easy eggs and medium rare steak. Breakfast perfection! - Patty Melt: My boyfriend said it was delicious, and the small bite I tried was great. You can tell they season their burger patties. Honestly, we both left very impressed as all the food was seasoned well and cooked beautifully. Who says diner food can't be done well?! Nana Dee's has set the standard for diner food!

SENTRY - WATCHING RESTAURANTS…read more Wild berry Diner 4805 E Main Street Mesa, AZ 85205 Companion and I often shop for groceries nearby, and decided to give it a try. I am so glad we did! We arrived for breakfast and the place was packed. Even so, we were seated within a few minutes. Menus were brought for us to peruse. For a starter we both had a large glass of cranberry juice. $3. Emphasis should be on the word large, as in most places you would get a small glass for the same price. Companion ordered the "Fresh Start", which is a big bowl of oatmeal which comes with cranberries, raisins, walnuts, brown sugar, and milk ($6). Companion was unable to finish it all. For myself, I had the Hawaiian omelet which had ham, bacon, pineapple, and mozzarella cheese. While I must admit I have never before had an omelet with these ingredients, it was delicious and big. I could not finish it all. The coffee was bottomless and the service was excellent. Unlike many other places that serve breakfast, we were made to feel truly at home, with friendly people all around. We will be going back again and again, possibly for lunch next time. This is a new favorite place to eat for us. Sanitation was good and food came out quickly. 5 stars.

The empty plate would probably have been better because it was delicious.

We have been curious…read moreabout this place ever since we stopped and talked to the person seating people while we were waiting for our reservation across the street. He mentioned a pickle martini, which I ordered at lunch and was very good. My wife ordered the welcome burger and enjoyed it except for them getting the toppings wrong. Our granddaughter really liked her mac and cheese and there was a generous serving of sliced fruit. And my Jose Burger had just enough spice and was very tasty. That what's the good. So we stopped here for lunch on a Friday about 12:30 with our 3-year-old granddaughter. Our initial server barely said two words to us and we felt like we were an imposition. When we ordered my wife asked did they have Pepsi or Coke products he said we have bottles and cans of everything, so she ordered a Coke. It was Mexican Coke which is fine, but $5, and it wasn't until we noticed other people had cans of regular Coke and realized he did not give us a choice. When we ordered our burgers, again he barely said two words and did not ask us how we wanted them cooked even though the menu says cook to order. When we got them they were very rare, see the picture, which we're okay with although we would have ordered them a little more done. My wife said no onions on hers, and of course there was onions on her berger. Later we were served by a waitress who was much more friendly and we realize was probably just not there yet when we sat down, so the initial waiter didn't really care what we thought since we weren't going to be his customers at the end. So sadly what could have been a very pleasant lunch was spoiled by the initial waiter, even though the food was good we may not be back.

But I can judge simply food or filet a trout or chicken and add a homemade beurre blanc sauce. I like simple red wine but relish a Camus anniversary bottle. We eat at hole in the walls and expensive places. But often we look at each other and choose between Dennys or VI, and are happy! Today, May 16th at VI on Signal Butte - rough start by a waitress who told both of us "I need to know your pie order. NOW." Resturant was not busy. Not at all. It was 4:15 maybe. Slow on a SUNDAY post-winter visitor rush on a late Spring day. Rushed. I pointed to my 3-6pm dinner choice of TURKEY. I showed her. "Just as it comes. She repeated it back to me as she typed in into her handheld computer. Chicken fried steak arrived. And a sausage looking oval patty shape of stuffing. Two long finger prints in it. I wondered if she picked up my loose stuffing as it's normally served here in America, or rather the chef did this to all who request it. I told my husband to look for spit in his food. My hubby? Nicest guy ever. But when he knows I didn't want and could not manage fried beef..but I had fasted 21 hours. I needed sliced fresh high protein meat. Wait another 15 min or eat the mess on my plate? I told her I'd eat it. Truly don't like complaining let alone confrontation with a Russian native with a sharp attitude because of a rough life. My nephew is from there so I GET the trauma. and I though I know I can usually switch my palate. But not for this plate of food. I felt sick looking at it. "Just eat the 'steak' I picked the stuffing apart - could not eat more than a thimble. Gummy gluten salty yuck was inedible. The FINGERPRINTS! 2 Fingertips past knuckles imprinted. I left it and hope someone there stopped to think "Why?" Our Waitress tried to make up by suddendly being nice when she walked behind me with a second piece of pie ...to go home. Thanked me for being agreeable or something. I nodded. I remember this saying if you l oh someone's attention the first three seconds and first three steps you'll spend the next 30 min trying to make them believe you're hiring. It's true. I was too tired this week to be extremely understanding but I'm never rude. I told my hubby let's both let this one go. And I said "But we won't return here." He nodded in agreement. Because I see people come in and sit down I see how tired they are and make quick calls to be able to turn their day around if only for a short time before they return home....to being a caregiver or to grieve a loss. Sad dinner and maybe she had a tough week too. But. But times 3 over.
