The Kale one was not bad but prefer the other. Lemon Blueberry Cornbread was delicious with the lemon curd on top as a shareable! We ordered the Salmon Benedict, Elevated Egg Sandwich, Barbacoa Tacos plus the seasonal Chimichurri Steak & Hash - all were amazing. Today's order was very disappointing. I've been eating at this location and ordering takeout since they opened. Always enjoyed their food and drinks. Today I ordered two Market Hashes, one with basted eggs and one with over easy for takeout. My basted egg was like an over hard egg which is not what I expected. Lots of potatoes, not enough veggies. Food was super salty, I couldn't finish my dish. First Watch offered free delivery today so I ordered some sandwiches and one was supposed to come with a fruit cup. I had not been feeling well so thought this would be perfect. It arrived early but no fruit cup! I called and the employee asked if I wanted to come pick it up! Why would I order delivery if I could have picked it up? Met up with some friends for breakfast last week to kick off the weekend. I've been to a couple First Watch locations but never this one. Had to pop in a support our friend Ryleigh! Rumor has it she's the best egg cooker person in AZ! :) We were greeted quickly and while the place was full, we got our table within 15min. Service was perfect and everyone we interacted with was amazing. There was a great morning vibe and the atmosphere was welcoming. The food was spot on! I arrived as they opened so there were just a few other patrons present. My first impression was how bright and uncluttered it was. Cleanliness was apparent as I looked around. I was greeted with a smile and a welcome within a minute or so. My waiter was pleasant and attentive without being bothersome. I ordered 2 eggs over easy, bacon, potatoes, toast and coffee. I used to really like this place, but I went today, and I feel like the quality has gone down. I had a bacon avocado omelette, and the bacon did not taste the same. It's as if they have gone to a lower quality of bacon, like Farmer John's, in order to cut costs. There also used to be 3 slices of avocado on the top, and this time there was only 1 tiny slice. I also ordered the breakfast potatoes, and while they were brown on the outside, the insides were hard, so they needed to be cooked longer. The biscuit was also lukewarm. It was crazy busy with lines out the door waiting when we walked in, but we're not picky about where we sit, so I asked about the bar area-they said no wait, seat yourself. Score 1!! Casey talked me into a 'Tri-Fecta' breakfast, complete with a light and airy Belgian waffle, chicken-apple sausage patty, and a bowl of fruit. The waffle was amazing! I totally missed the berry compote until I was most of the way done with my waffle but THAT is special. Order that with anything and everything possible. The bowl of fruit was nice because it wasn't your average boring melon/grapes/1 strawberry with a whisper of flavor, bowl of fruit. I was pleasantly surprised with fresh blueberries AND pineapple mixed in. My bf got the Farm Stand Breakfast tacos. He LOVED them. The tacos consisted of, "Three wheat-corn tortillas with cage-free scrambled eggs, Cajun chicken, chorizo, Cheddar and Monterey Jack. Topped with fresh avocado and housemade pico de gallo. Served with seasoned black beans." The beans on the side were okay, but the tacos he really enjoyed! I really enjoyed First Watch in North Mesa. My husband had the chickichanga which seemed to please him just fine. I had the Belgian waffle with mixed berry compote. They describe it as "light and airy" and that was no lie! First watch has great breakfast and brunch menu with high quality ingredients with a great range of choices for anyone. I've tried the breakfast and lunch foods and they never disappoint. I recently had the 1/2 veggie sandwich with the kale salad which was amazing. Nicely toasted sandwich that had a bunch of grilled veggies, cheesy goodness and delicious pesto. Very good sandwich and the kale salad on the side really made the entire meal perfect. My wife got the trifecta with the waffles. I'll tell you what, those waffles really are delicious! They aren't just a standard tasting waffle that really reminded me of rascoes chicken and waffles if your from LA. I'll have those waffles all the time! Delicious! I have gone here for brunch quite a few times and it's good food. But I don't think I've ever been blown away by any of it. I go in with high hopes for a specific dish based off a picture or a description, and then the flavor is just ok but not amazing. This last time I tried the seasonal Parmesan prosciutto toast. The roasted garlic aïoli sounded amazing, but I honestly couldn't taste it, leaving the dish rather dry. My daughter had the donut appetizer and those were pretty yummy button. She wanted something with glaze and these are just cinnamon sugar dusted so I ended up eating most of them. I continue to return because the service is good and it's a really beautiful, clean, friendly restaurant. Why this place is so popular is beyond me. We went in on Easter at about 1:00. Our iced tea was cloudy and gross. Please clean your machine. Our server was ok. Not great, not bad. Our granddaughters fork had dried food in the tines and we asked the person that brought the food for another one but he never did. The fruit bowl on our granddaughters plate had black smudges all over the outside. Gross. They were out of regular bacon(!) so I got their million dollar bacon. More like two cent bacon. What a sick sticky mess. Maybe it would have been good had it been warm. Nothing was warm on any of our meals.
