Came here after a nice hike with a friend. Settled on the meaty omelette, I can't remember the actual name. It was good, flavorful, and meaty except for it being overcooked and dry. I'm not one to complain and I know how hard everyone is working especially during COVID. I think a little less cooking time and or would have been perfect. The home fries were great and so was the toast, can't go wrong with some good toast. I'd definitely come back again. don't know where to start... my boyfriend and I wanted to try a new place near our house. Reading the reviews I was excited to try it. I ordered the eggs Benedict with lox and he had the lox and cream cheese. we were impressed by the menu, the server not so much( she was definitely having a bad day) our dish came out and the salmon had a huge dark, hard, rubbery spots and very fishy smell on both plates (also very skimpy serving) the waitress came by and we told her about it and showed her, she said it was supposed to be like that. She took his plate back and said she they made a new one.. they didn't!! They literally put a new piece over the spoiled piece!! I pushed mine to a the side and tried to eat the egg but literally was grossed out! He didn't touch his! I asked for the check ( she could obviously tell we didn't eat it, she didn't say another word and handed us our check charging for both meals. I literally had to call her back and say I shouldn't have to pay for something I didn't eat. She removed the meals and charged for our coffees, we left a $20 and got the hell out of there! Sunnysides is a really convenient choice for us, and we go pretty often on the weekends. It's a pretty standard American breakfast menu with a southwest healthier flare. The fresh juices are amazing, with hair-of-the-dog cocktails and cold brew. My kids love their pancakes, omlets never disappoint, and home fries are a must. The chicken fried steak is tasty, too. The service is always quick and pleasant. The waitstaff is tenured, which makes it nice to see the same faces week after week. The French toast was nothing special, and in fact was pretty dry and almost anemic. I ordered the cinnamon cream cheese topping on the side and that saved the day! Eggs were good, and the bacon was fine, although seemed super salty. Our friends seemed satisfied enough with their meals, so nothing to really gripe about, although I probably wouldn't make a special trip there. I would honestly give these guys 3.5 stars. It's decent. I have come here probably 5 times since it's been this name and it's consistently a good breakfast. No it's not fabulous but it's good. The servers always seem "frazzled" probably because they don't have enough staff. They get the job done though. I always get the crepes with chorizo and nopales, I forgot the name and the website isn't working so I can look it up. It's pretty good. I think the food definitely could be hotter (temp). My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Sunnyside! The entire staff including the very friendly host and our attentive server made us feel welcome. As for the menu, there were so many delicious options we had a hard time deciding what to order. We finally settled on sharing the Krab Cake Benedict and French Toast with berry compote. Both dishes were wonderfully flavorful. However, the Benedict was the stand out. The focaccia bread base was well seasoned with delicious fresh herbs and topped with a wonderfully crisp and flaky Krab patty. I wasn't sure how I would feel about the artificial crab, but it was delicious. This was topped with a perfectly cooked poached egg and Hollandaise sauce which was one of the best I've had in recent years. It was one of those dishes I would have a hard time deviating from during future visits. Stop by this local gem and you won't be disappointed! read more

Our waiter Luis was helped us select our breakfast choices, checked up on us frequently, and made our experience very enjoyable. I ordered the All American and substituted the toast with a pancake! All of it was super yummy! The gray was just the right consistency, the bacon was crispy, the egg was cooked just right, and the pancake was delicious with the syrup. Called the establishment to let them know and manager refused to speak with us so we could advise them so it wouldn't happen to another customer. This place was a staple for us until recently. Seems to have really gone downhill. We used to love getting the Pch Benedict but ingredients and chefs have changed, not for the better. Their fresh juices are usually good, however with plenty of variety. The staff is nice and understanding even tho the food they are serving isn't up to par anymore. It's an okay spot for brunch with plenty of seating inside and shaded patio. Usually pretty quick to get sat down. Ambiance is kind of bleak on this inside. Used to have to come early to get in quick but I think people have caught on that there are better places to go. read more

We were in the neighborhood and decided to give Sunnyside a try. 15-20 minute wait for a table. The only issue I had was I saw the table we ended up sitting at stay unbused for 10 minutes. Minor issue, but unnecessary. The restaurant was incredibly clean. I watched the table get sanitized, the woman did a thorough job. Ordered the flattened Chimi, the breakfast Chimi, one pumpkin pancake and 2 coffees. Everything was incredible. $38 including tax. We will be back for sure! read more

Food was good but I am leaving a negative review due to my overall experience. My friends and I walked in and let the host know there would be 5 of us but we were just missing our last person. The host told us she would get a table ready but we could not be seated until our last person arrived. Understandable, however I then proceeded to watch 2 other parties walk in, incomplete, and were sat immediately. I don't understand why we were lied to and forced to sit up front for 20 minutes while other parties were immediately seated. The host then must have noticed my frustration told us it was because "sometimes the 5th person doesn't show up and we just don't want to occupy a larger table if it's only a party of 4" But we were seated at a 4 person table regardless, they just pulled up an extra chair. I don't want to make it something it's not, but I will also note that the other 2 parties who came in after us but got priority before us were both white families and we were not. I was looking for a good brunch/breakfast place and this looked promising. Unfortunately it wasn't, I had asked for my eggs Sunny side up and the egg white was still clear. About 50% of the egg white was cooked. The server didn't offer to get it remade or another option other than "we don't flip it". This same server forgot to place our order of pancakes and that was the main reason why I went... to eat pancakes. Another thing I was observing was that she would place her hand on top of the cups that we're drinking of, as she is touching countertops and other items. If you ask me, that's unsanitary. Although she did have the check ready for us. Unfortunately I won't be coming back, I do hope they can take this as a constructive feedback. Ps. Your food needs more seasoning, it's bland. read more

This place is so cute! The staff is so incredibly attentive to their patrons. We came with a huge party of 24, and our orders were taken very promptly. The food came pretty quickly and all at once. I don't think you can really go wrong with any of the options! I got Mom's Recipe Chilaquiles and it was a wonderfully large portion. We ate at Sunnyside Breakfast Lounge recently. There were 6 of us plus a newborn. The waiter suggested a table in a room at the back of the restaurant. It was perfect. Privacy and ample room for the carriage. Service was great as well as the food. My wife and split an egg's Bennett and my brother in law had the Sonoran crepes. Everyone agreed the food was great. We visited on Sunday around 1130am. We were able to easily park near the door when we arrived and our group of 6 were seated immediately upon entering the restaurant. Overall, a WONDERFUL experience here! Our server, Tad, was GREAT and answered questions about menu items with ease! He made sure our glasses and coffee were always full and he was available to see if we needed anything. Our food arrived quickly and our orders were accurate. Tad made sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit without hovering over our table. Our food tasted GREAT and the value vs. cost was very good as well. Our total bill was around $22 per person which for the quality and quantity of food we received was great. Definitely highly recommend this place and we will be back again!! read more

I hardly leave reviews but I was pretty disappointed in this place. I was super excited to try it! But the rude hostess with short purple hair completely ruined the experience here. Long story short, my sister and I wanted to try this place out. We were running short on time, so my sister called in a placed our order in advance. When we walked in and informed the host that we were the ones that called, she caught an attitude and started complaining on how we messed their system up and that it would have just as fast for them if we came in and ordered in person.... Well that was a damn lie. The table that was sat right next to us, waited about 15 minutes before even getting their drink order. As our breakfast went on, the host continued to make comments all over us calling and placing our order. As for the food, I ordered the biscuits and gravy. It was mediocre. I will say their fresh juice is amazing and the only reason I'll be giving this place a second chance. Hopefully the hostess will have a better attitude.
