I figured out the online auction and was making bids and then 1/2 an hour before the end it was cancelled. I called the facility and again spoke with Sean. I asked why the auction was cancelled and his response was "That's none of your business" He was rude and indignant to me from there on. I have NEVER had a customer experience like that in my life!! I would rent a paper bag from this place. RENTERS BEWARE!! He may seem all warm and fuzzy at first, but he is a snake in the grass!!

All of the other storage facilities that I've used didn't require a 30 day notice. So when I went into the office to close my account, I was asked if I gave my 30 day notice. As she asked that, I vaguely remembered going over that when signing the contract with them. It was definitely my fault. I just want to warn people so they don't make the same mistake, because they will charge you an extra month. So I'm paying for a unit that I'm not even using. Let's start with the fact that I had called SCSS on New Years Eve at approximately 12:30 pm, and I had come to discover that the office had closed about 30 minutes prior for the holiday. They offered to stay and wait for me to show me around. I had declined, but the offer itself was very generous! I had told them I would be back that week... Later that week, we had stopped by to take a tour of the place. Very, very, very, very clean! It was like it was a brand new facility. I had known about this facility for some time and remember when it had opened what seems like a decade ago and it still looks like it had just opened. The security features of the facility are top notch for its price level! I loved how each unit has fire sprinklers... you may say "Well what if your stuff gets wet?" I would rather it get wet than get burned, at least you can still tell what it was! The facility is well laid out, and they even make sure that plastic mats are laid down in each unit to minimize moisture! That's huge! In my opinion, the most important aspect of a storage unit is the management. I have yet to meet his wife, but Sonny is on another level of service. He is so nice, super accommodating, easy to talk to, and he runs a tight ship! When we signed for the storage unit, it was raining A LOT and was gusty, yet Sonny jumped into his cart and immediately cleaned out our unit and dried it off and left towels for us so that we could dry anything we needed. He really made us feel right at home from the very beginning. I can't say enough good things about this man. I have opted to bring in a check for all of my payments rather than opting for automatic payments so that I can catch up with Sonny and the rest of his staff.

Fortunately, Sierra from corporate reached out after I raised concerns. They were very kind, professional, and apologetic, and helped us mediate the issue. That effort and understanding meant a lot and helped turn the situation around. I hope the company can kind John a different role that does not require him to interact with customers.
