Surprisingly such a cute spot! We were waiting to get called into another cafe nearby and stumbled into this coffee shop just to get some caffeine in. It was surprisingly so cute in the back! We didn't end up getting food but coffee and service was great.

Great experience! Service was attentive and quick. The food was delicious and filling. I had the mocha to drink and the mexican eggs benedict. The jalapenos added a nice fresh flavor to the chorizo and overall dish. I definitely enjoyed everything I ordered. I would definitely come back and would recommend to others.

Came here for brunch in the early afternoon on a Tuesday, party of 2. My order: sunrise breakfast with the waffle, 2 eggs poached, and sausage links for $18. Pros: - very fast service! food came out so quickly like in 5 minutes - Really delicious food, the waffle was great - Very clean and simple decor inside - Lots of seating, but best for parties of 4 or less - poached eggs were excellently done. - Everyone was kind and professional Cons: - None. simple, straightforward brunch. Nothing fancy, you get what you pay for!

We were on our way to a different breakfast place when we spotted Sunrise Cafe & wanted to try it instead. We were met with friendly faces & received excellent service. Our waiter, Giovanni, was attentive, friendly & very professional. The owner came by & told us she's been here for 3 years. I loved the interior of the cafe. It has cute French paintings throughout & it's nice & bright in here. There's some windows looking out to Lighthouse Avenue & our server put us in the best spot. Now the food! My avocado toast was the BEST AVOCADO TOAST I've ever had!!! I chose to add tomato to it & mixed with the oils, seasoning & the amazingly fluffy bread creates a decadent flavor. I truly had to savor it because I know I could eat it all way too fast. My husband loved their steak & he said the sourdough toast was the best he's had. It's fluffy & full of flavor. Our baby enjoyed her waffles & sausage. They truly give a ton of food for the price on a kids menu!! Honestly, I'm so thankful we decided to come here instead of the other place. This friendly & quiet atmosphere was everything we wanted to experience on our vacation, as well as the food. We look forward to coming here in the future as we visit Monterey often.

Very tasty and friendly. It is a small place, but we were able to get a table on a Friday morning. I listened to other reviewers and tried the avocado toast with buffalo mozzarella and I also got a side of bacon for the table. My husband got the Spanish omelette with toast and crispy hashbrowns. Both of our food was delicious and came out fast. The servers were on top of water and if we needed anything. Would definitely eat there again.

Came to Sunrise Cafe on a Sunday at 9:20am. It was about a third filled at the time and so I got seated right away. By 9:45am, the seating inside was full. There was 4+ tables outside. My husband and I got seated at a 2 seater table by the big window in the front of the restaurant, which I thought was the best seat in the house. The inside of the restaurant is clean, cozy, and decorated with light wood tables and chairs with green vinyl seats. There was soft instrumental music playing in the background too. I ordered the chicken fried steak, my husband's favorite breakfast dish, from the Specialty menu at $23.99 and two coffees at $3.99 each. My husband and I split the order. The chicken fried steak was a good size steak and was breaded with a crispy panko crust, which I haven't had cooked that way before. The gravy was tasty and not too salty like some can be. The dish came with homefries made of freshly pan fried red potatoe chunks, two eggs, and sourdough toast. Service was good and we enjoyed our meal there, and I will recommended it to our friends.

Solid meal at Sunrise. Cute little cafe with good service. I got the florentine Benedict. Star of the show was definitely the hollandaise sauce.

Food was just ok. Service was ok. The restaurant seemed clean but the bathroom needed attending to. It was cold inside. It was Christmas time and they didn't have much of any decorations. Street parking only. I don't think I will be back.

It was fine. I maybe ordered not their best thing but to be fair it was on their "special menu". I ordered the fried steak with over medium eggs and hash browns. It was pretty greasy, chewy edges either fat or skin, and the eggs were over easy. I may be nitpicking but i wouldn't have minded if it was like $15 but it was $24. I also got a latte but with this place i think you are better off with plain coffee. and then i got a side of sausage links for my dog. All in all the bill came out to $40 w/o tip. So, not my favorite spot, i'd maybe give it another chance with a different order. The positive is that the servers are all very nice and friendly. I did sit outside and it is a busy street just fyi so me going alone was fine but if going with a group id go inside so you can hear each other

i wanted french toast & so badly wanted banana nut pancakes & they made it happened for me the service was great!

Check-in was easy and prompt. It was quite busy for a Friday check-in but there were 5-6 workers checking people in so it went pretty fast. They were providing water bottles to those who were waiting, and also let people know that there were s'more kits to use at the outside fireplace facing the golf course. You may have to drive to where your room is as there are various buildings in the hotel, so perhaps wait to get your luggage out of your car until after check-in. There looked to be quite a few kids at the property as well as they had some ping pong tables and life size chess available near the main building. The room itself was really spacious and clean. Nothing was really wrong in the room. Perhaps the AC wasn't the best (maybe we were using it wrong), but there is a fan right above the bed which was VERY cool/strong once turned on. WiFi was a bit spotty throughout the stay. TV in the room had Google cast which was nice.

I left the comforts of my beautiful home in Calabasas to see the beautiful beaches and forests of this area. My partner and I have auto immune conditions that our doctor and therapists told us to get away and go to nature to reset our nervous systems. We drove up and arrived around 9pm after several hours on the packed road. I was so excited to stay at this property. Upon arrival I asked if Hyatt members received perks. Instead as my card was charged $700+ I was told we get two free bottled waters and 5 points toward the stay. We were then told to drive to our room carry our bags in. No bellman no assistance nothing. We were sent to the farthest room in the entire establishment, in building Z by the loud freeway on the first floor. The room was awful. We were met with a cracked sink rusty bathroom fixtures hair in the shower and wifi that did not work. The bed sheets and comforter were thin the wood was chipped. I called the front desk and spoke to Priscilla who was very kind and completely understood and was empathetic. She moved us to another room and said security could help us carry bags. By the time new keys and security came it was 10:30pm and we were sick and exhausted. We went to our new room which wasn't much better. There was something on the wall the sink was rusty but the worst part were the kids upstairs making noise all night. Someone called security around 11;30pm/12am I did not get to sleep until 12:30am. Unfortunately we were then woken up by the same kids very early. I called down to front desk again. Taylor was the front desk supervisor at the time and she apologized and asked me what I would like her to do? Did we want coffee? No we want to get out of here and be refunded for this completely stressful and disappointing trip. We could have stayed in Calabasas for this. I truly hope someone from Hyatt makes this right. I would hate to leave a review for my large social media following and never stay in a Hyatt again.

Conspiracies aside, the food was awful. I just don't get how this many people could share amazing post after amazing post and jive that with my in person experience. We ordered the corned beef hash. It needed salt. How?!!! Plus they basically only used beef and potato?! The menu said it had peppers and onion so when we asked, they brought some out on the side?!! Terrible. I mean it made it taste a little better but it was still not good. Then, the "lumpia" was more like an oil soggy egg roll. Too oily to even eat because literally it was dripping oil. So gross. Clearly someone not from the lumpia making culture made these. I do not recommend this place at all. Even the coffee was terrible. Only saving grace and the second star comes from the fresh squeezed orange juice. Delicious but come on ... smh ... does not save this place at all. Sorry, I really wanted to like this but this was my experience. Hopefully it was just a weird day.

Unfortunately, when I got to my destination and opened the containers, each bowl only had one added egg, even though I was charged for a total of four added eggs.
