We were on 17 mile drive and were absolutely starving. Since I dont know the area at all, I Yelped the area and found this amazing spot. We walked in and the place was empty, so we took the best seat on the outside patio overlooking the golf course. The weather was perfect. The view was perfect. Our waiter came by and got us drinks and our appetizers. We got calamari for appetizers and it was great. We devoured it cause we were so hungry lol. My wife got the steak sandwich which was sooo good, my daughter got a burger, which was delicious, and I got nachos with chicken, which was delicious also. The waiters would check on us regularly. It was such a great spot. If you're on 17 mile drive, this is a bit away from the Oceanside, but it's such a nice spot! I would definitely recommend grabbing lunch here tho! read more

This review is based on a single visit for our 20th anniversary dinner (high expectations) at 8:00 on Sunday (very slow time for the kitchen and waiter). Ideally book dinner before sunset as the drive in is spectacular. We arrived at the clubhouse and thought, 'hmm, is this the place with all the great Yelp reviews' since it really looks like a burgers and beers spot. After we got the menu we knew we were in the right place. Starters: Baby Gem Wedge Salad / 14 Baby Gem Lettuce, Buttermilk Dressing, Cypress Point Blue Cheese, House made Bacon, Tabasco Onions and Blue Cheese Agnolotti Agnolotti stuffed with a blue cheese cream sauce, Chanterelle mushrooms, onions, tomatoes. The wedge was not heavy which helped the bacon and onions really pop. The Agnolotti was very savory and the vegetables were outstanding. Returned for our semiannual visit and was so happy to find the service and food still excellent! Rosendo was our server today and made sure we always had our water and coffees filled. We arrived to the restaurant after a beautiful drive around Pebble Beach, which might be one of the most beautiful areas in California. The restaurant is inside the clubhouse of a golf course and was basically empty for a Sunday morning brunch. We were told that breakfast ended at 11 AM but they still had a couple items we could order from the breakfast menu instead of getting lunch. We ordered the eggs benedict and the veggie omelet and both were excellent. The benedict with avocado and mushrooms can rival any benedict we've had and the omelet was well done too. GOLF COURSE AT PEBBLE BEACH I didn't know picking a place for us to dine for lunch would end up being at a golf course in a gated community costing $10 to enter IN PEBBLE BEACH. The waiter never bothered to deliver my drink sitting on the courier after asking for it TWICE. That should have been scratch off the bill in my opinion! AFTERNOON BLUES - I think thats what the beverage was called. The taste was refreshing, light, and had no hints of alcohol but indeed there was alcohol in it. Presentation of my drink was simple and elegant. Highly recommend!!! FRIED ARTICHOKE HEARTS - such a delicious appetizer. Who doesn't love artichokes?!?! The hearts were like buds and deep fried with very thin slices of lemon that happen to also be edible. Never had an appetizer like this before and really enjoyed every bite. If you like the zing of citrus take a bite of the thin sliced deep fried lemons. Highly Recommend!!! CHICKEN PICCATA - such a delicious meal. The chicken was perfectly prepared. The thin skin was crispy and had great flavor. The breast meat was tender and moist. It was resting on a bed of couscous that was mixed with chopped herbs and olives... So good. And then garnished and topped with spinach and some kind of broccolini. The only thing that I couldn't consume on the plate was the bitter broccolini; too bitter for my liking. Overall, it was a well executed dish. Presentation was beautiful. Highly recommend!!! Really liked this establishment and would recommend it to others. Outside seating is just fabulous but make sure the heaters work! We moved to the fire place and had to try and fit our plates on that tiny space because all the other heaters were not working. Anyways, we started with the calamari which was very good and such a huge portion! What a great start! Next we got the sirloin steak, burger, salad, and the fish of the day which was their special: a nice salmon cooked with clams, muscles, mushrooms and asparagus. 5 stars considering this is a golf club 19th tee. We have been here at least 7 times and expect many more visits as we are building a home on hole 10. Our go to is the salmon salad which couldn't be better. Wins are good, pot pie got rave reviews and brunch was great. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality. UPDATE: recently attended bourbon and bones event which was a carnivores delight. Wow, 5 different drinks paired with amazing bbq. We were met with a refreshing whiskey spritzer and walk around apps of fried Mac n cheese and chorizo sausage on a stick. That was followed by old fashion and brisket, then Manhattan and burnt ends and beans, followed by a bourbon mule and dry run ribs. One more, whisky infused digestive and mud pie. I could wrote about all the details such as dried mint leaves candied for the spritzer or the 15 day smoked brisket...but my best words would under serve the experience. I came with the MPC Hospitality Club for a tour of the front and back House and a peek into the industry. We had the absolute pleasure of exploring the kitchen, storage rooms and learning how everything is prepped/created. Joe was our guide and has a fantastic attitude. He is very knowledgeable about the goings on throughout the restaurant and behind the scenes. He was absolutely a sweetheart and gratefully treated our club to lunch and dessert. He is truly a great guy. I am absolutely planning on coming back to Porters with friends to maybe catch Happy Hour and enjoy a meal! Came here for a wedding. The food was pretty decent, the ice cream dessert was fantastic. Best of all, though, was the service. One member of our party had a little girl that was pretty sick, so mom and daughter ended up missing the whole reception (and the wedding out at the beach, too). Mom and daughter end up spending the entire time in the car (with the daughter sleeping) waiting for the reception to finish. I asked the servers if I could get some of the food boxed up to take out to the car for them, so at least the mom could eat. The servers were more than willing to oblige, and packed a box of the appetizers, then later, packed up both entrees for me to take out to the car. The second server, when I asked for utensils, gave me a nice plastic bag with utensils and plenty of napkins. Nice food, great scenery, but the service crew made all the difference. Service was fast and friendly. I ordered hot tea and the corned beef hash for breakfast. My hash was very good although it was house smoked hash it tasted more like buttery beef cubes but no matter. Everything tasted like it was from scratch including the hash browns. The boyfriend ordered a Bloody Mary and the eggs Benedict. The Bloody Mary is made with Ketel One and was delicious ( I couldn't resist a sip) and the eggs Benedict were okay- a little bland and cold. Presentation of both plates was amazing and who can beat a nice peaceful view of a golf course tucked in a forest with deer meandering on the greens! Parking was ample as well. My fiancé and I were visiting the area and needed brunch/lunch. Found this place on Yelp and decided to take the scenic drive to give it a try. Our experience was that if you told the personnel working the 17 Mile Drive entrance that you were just eating at this restaurant, they don't charge you the tour fee, so I was happy to save 10 bucks. Fairly easy directions to get there via Google Maps. We arrived to very few folks in the restaurant (we went on a weekday late morning) and no one at the entrance, so we approached the bar to ask where to sit. Bartender told us to pick our seats and he'd be over in a bit. Service was quick, menu has tasty options and the view - albeit obstructed by fog - was lovely. I had the Loaded Fries with Blackened Chicken and hubby had the Firehouse Burger. We both really enjoyed our food!
