We had to have routine bloodwork done so I scheduled an appointment here for pediatric blood draw. I brought my first here two years ago and we were in and out within 5 minutes. No poking around her arm, no crying. Nothing. I brought my second here yesterday and I will NEVER come back again. First, she couldn't find a vein. I watched her try and get one to come up but there was nothing there. I saw her grab the needle and I said you see one? Because I definitely didn't. She says yes then grabs my babies arm. Baby started to cry before the needle went in then she literally stabs my baby in the arm WITHOUT finding a vein. She then lifts the needle up in her arm and I said are you supposed to do that? Then she proceeds to move the needle from side to side like she was fishing for a vein. I said stop! We're done here. Made her remove the needle and stood up to get the hell out of there. She puts on a bandaid and gives me my insurance card and script. I am extremely angry, upset and sickened that I had to subject my baby to that horrible experience when we couldn't even give any blood. Our pediatrician said if they have to poke more than once then they don't know what they're doing and leave immediately. That's exactly what I did and we will never be back. This place is not equipped for children like it used to be.

Our family's experience with Eastern Portable has been seamless, during a fairly stressful period…read more Our 80 year old mother had taken a fall in the home and required x-rays. After a virtual appointment with her primary care doctor, paperwork was done (by the doctor and Eastern Portable) so that an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G technician could come out to the house. Mom, described the tech as having the strength of Thor, but gentle. My brother -repeatedly- referred to the tech's cheerleader like personality. Very positive. Our mother, is a tough cookie to please, unbelievably had NOTHING NEGATIVE TO SAY. Folks, this is the *highest* of compliments. I cannot find enough words to explain. Mom was bruised and in pain, yet dazzled by Terri. (Thank you for sending up this gem of an employee!!!!) My brother was extremely pleased with coordination call to arrange the visit. Understanding the urgency that is generally needed with x-rays, they checked to see if a tech was in our general area. Terri (the tech) happened to be very close, and the coordinator would call to direct her to our home next. They arrived in slightly less than 30 minutes. Questions that were asked (before scheduling) were easy to understand, and thorough. They included: - The logistics of the home - if we had steps to the front door - and if Mom was located on the 1st floor. - They explained that Mom would need to be laying down for the x-rays. (A couch is acceptable, but we have a hospital bed on the main floor.) - The described the size of the unit (stating the dimensions) and asked if there would be challenges getting to the bed. - Recommendations were offered on what Mom should wear (nothing with metal, so that the x-rays would be free of unnecessary objects) - and most importantly - a comfortable cloth that would allow for stretching. (PRO TIP: Having a number of decorative throw pillows available, really helped Terry position Mom, so that she didn't have to "hold" any limb still while the x-ray machine took the image.) - They inquired if anyone in the house was experiencing covid symptoms. - The coordinator explained that if the vehicle pulled up (in the driveway, or street) and did not immediately come to the door, there was a reason. The technicians wipe the machines BEFORE and AFTER each patient visit. Terri arrived, knocked and stepped back from the door. She was double masked (heavily). Once inside she looked for appropriate power sources, as Mom was on the way down from the second floor. My brother stuck around initially to provide assistance, if required, but stepped back to the safe distance Terri recommended. Thor, I mean, Terri, safely and gently managed my mother's frail body by herself. I was upstairs and listening to an incredibly chipper personality. (Didn't want to be in the way.) The contents of this review were collected after interviewing Mom, and my brother. It's a long review, because we'd like EVERYONE ON LONG ISLAND to know about this incredible service - especially during pandemic time. To obtain the name of the company, we reached out to our primary care physician. I then rang EPX, Eastern Portable X-Ray, and had the delightful experience of speaking to Winnie. Honestly, I have no-idea where this company is finding such lovely people. She was so nice! Here I am, calling to ask for an urgent set of the images, and Winnie was not only polite, but exceedingly accommodating. We had an appointment scheduled with a specialist in two days. Winnie normally would mail out a disc to the physician. But when I mentioned that my brother could pick it up, she got excited. (Seriously. This is mundane stuff.) I had been slogging thru tedious calls all day and this particular call made me smile. (Thank you, Winnie!) Eastern Portable X-Ray has been in business since 1989, and offers service to ALL of Long Island. Typically, physicians handle the referral (with the prescription and demographic details). However, if the doctor's office cannot, for some reason, the company can walk the patient through the information needed on demographics (patient height, weight, insurance, and so on). They work with private home patients, nursing homes, child and physically challenged individuals and do governmental contract work. Self-pay is accepted. Services include radiology, cardiology and ultrasound. Because they are completely digital, results are available very quickly. Our family highly recommends this company and their employees. Thank you so much!

My practice has been successful in part due to the amazing services provided by everyone at Eastern Portable X-ray. Over the past 15 years, I have depended on this company for providing my patients with X-rays, ultrasounds, EKGs, cardiac echos, and venous dopplers, right in the comfort of their own homes.
