While walking through the farmers market I was looking for tasty strawberries.  I saw 4 vendors…read morewith nice looking strawberries.  One vendor had strawberries with aroma that wafted into the walkway.  I followed the scent and asked where the strawberries were grown.  He said Santa Maria.  I love visiting Santa Maria for the delicious Santa Maria bbq so I was sold.  It was 3 baskets for $10 which was a good deal compared to what I've paid at San Diego Farmers Market vendors.  The strawberries filled the kitchen with strawberry aroma.  Strawberries were firm and bursting with sweet strawberry flavor.  Next time I'm in town I'll follow the scent to get more of these tasty berries. Maggie found a Marcie's Pies and purchased 3 pies for $30.  Pies are had a crunchy pastry crust and I liked the mild flavor.  Blackberry pie had an intensely sweet blackberry flavor.  I enjoyed my very small piece.  Peach pie had a very sweet peach flavor.  Apple pie was my favorite and had a very strong sweet apple flavor. Mandarin oranges from Buckhorn Canyon Ranchwere ripe, sweet, and juicy.  I loved the flavor which is a bit like Sumo Citrus Oranges. One vendor had a variety of peaches, plums, and other stone fruit.  I bought one of each of most of the options.  Each was ripe, juicy, and full of flavor.  Among the best stone fruit I've had. Solvang Farmer's Market is nice sized.  There is plentiful free parking nearby.  Not crowded but has enough customers to keep the market going.  A good number of produce vendors selling fruits and veggies.  I was very impressed by the quality of the strawberries, oranges, and stone fruit.  I look forward to visiting the market when I visit Solvang.

They also have a deli where you can order sandwiches and sides; homemade desserts and pastries; coffee; produce; wine ; and lavender bath products. There's one small bathroom for guests, and a dining area to sit and eat and wait for your Tesla to charge. All in all, this is a great little stop to charge your battery, stretch your legs, and browse a very cute little high-end market.
