We had a money mailer coupon for this location and just had to give it a try. We really enjoy the location on south wadsworth and looked forward to experiencing this one. Plenty of great parking in a nice area. That's always a great start. The hostess was beautiful as friendly and sat us quickly. Our server was an extremely polite woman named Lyn that seemed to really care about her job and taking good care of us. She was on top of everything and we never wanted for anything. Drink order happened fast as did our food order. Our meals came out within ten minutes and were hot fresh, well prepared and yummy. I had a few special requests for mine and my wishes were followed perfectly. I always appreciate that. The coupon was honored as written and our meal was great and the bill was reasonable. This place was small and cute in terms of it felt like a place where you could show up in pajamas and you wouldn't feel judged by anyone, which I love, haha. However, the food was just alright and I didn't find it to be that special. It felt like something that I could easily cook at home. Since my friends were in town, we decided to try multiple breakfast stops. Considering my Wadsworth visit being pleasant, I had the same expectations coming to this location. I unfortunately did not have the same experience. It was good, do not get me wrong, it just definitely lacked the freshness I got from the other location. My friends ordered pancakes with eggs and I sticked with my usual 2x2x2. Onto the food! We must first cover the sausage links. Juicy and fulfilled my meat need! Unfortunately, it was a very basic sausage link so it did not stand out. The eggs were the same, cooked perfectly but missed the "freshness" aspect. The main savior of this visit was the pancakes! Soft and hot gave me a mouth watering flavor. I was not disappointed! As mentioned on my other review, I will always recommended the pancakes to anyone! Overall, this location serves as a fast breakfast spot. It doesn't hit the same quality as the Wadsworth location, but it does beat out IHOP in quality. THIS DOES MATTER. If you want to try something new I would recommend this spot if it's closer to you. If you are okay with driving, then definitely try out the Wadsworth location! read more

While the food is outstanding here unfortunately we can not go back. On two occasions we noticed the wait staff while clearing the tables inspecting the utensils and cups people MAY NOT have used leaving them on the table and seating the next guests. This is completely unacceptable and unsanitary. For this reason we can not go back. You have no idea who may have sneezed or coughed on the table. Well, we just had a mediocre breakfast at the Sunrise Sunset which was pretty much expected. Okay omelette with cold mushy breakfast potatoes. What really got me was I asked for a dry biscuit instead of an English muffin. The server said it would be a little extra and I agreed. When the bill came I was charged an additional $4.99 for one small biscuit..what??? We thought for sure she had just keyed it in wrong. When we asked, she said, "no, that's what it is". Absolutely ridiculous! We will NOT be back. Oh, and additionally there is horrible cell reception and no wi-fi, so if you want to have a working meal or meeting, forget it! read more

Came to visit from CA and wanted to try this place out since it seemed mellow and I liked the menu online. Everything was great until I watched my food sit at the window for 5+ min and then when I got it I let my server know the potatoes were stale. She was very kind and asked the kitchen if they could give me new ones. When she did so the ugly girl on the line in glasses and a braid yelled out "they just came out what do you mean?!!" at me. I can't review the food because I never got my order. I ordered an omelet off the menu and 40 minutes later I decided to leave because i didnt get my order or even an update from the server. There were only 2 other tables were seated during this time, so I doubt the cook was overwhelmed. It takes 3-5 minutes to make an omelet. I know because I've done it at home myself! I ate breakfast here for the first time today and was unimpressed! I ordered coffee and couldn't go past 2 sips, it was that awful. I had the waitress take it away. The waitress also told me that their coffee tastes like water. Use a better brand of coffee or clean your coffee maker on a regular basis! I also ordered an Italian omelet which was average. I didn't want breakfast potatoes so I asked for a pancake instead. Also, they use a gross pancake syrup that could use upgrading. Pancake and butter was average. Later, I found out that I was charged an extra 3 dollars for an average size pancake. So, for an omelette with english muffin and pancake - $15 plus dollars. Very disappointed with this place! I believe we just missed the breakfast rush. My family and I were seated right away. Our waitress was very nice. I think her name was Catherine. As for the menu... there were so many options to choose from... I like having options! I ordered a small orange juice with the Bacon Benedict. If you're like me and don't like soggy potatoes, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ordering your potatoes extra crispy. My mom ordered the Country Fried Steak. My sister ordered a Spinach Omelette with a large apple juice. The portions were huge! I believe everything is made fresh because the juices & the strawberry jam tasted 'homemade' which I prefer. Very good and solid Breakfast restaurant. The food served is as good as breakfast food gets and the service was amazing. My fiancée and I went on a Sunday morning before the 'Church Rush' and the place was already packed. The table turnover was fast enough that there was no wait, despite the throng of people rushing in and out of the place. Once we were seating, we were immediately greeted by a Broncos-clad waitress who took our order, brought us coffee and our amazing food in no more than 10 minutes. I got the 2+2+2 special (standard short stack with meat and eggs special) and they were cooked perfectly and my pancakes were sweet and fluffy. My fiancée got an omelet and it was the cheesiest and fullest omelet she has had in a while (as seen by the 1' long strands of melted cheese being pulled off ). This is a good spot if you are in a hurry because they are able to crank out food quickly. The biggest issue is that they over charge for all of their entree's. They offer M-F early bird options but most working individuals aren't there during these hours. We order the Lumbre omelet and Lumbre Burrito which were tasty. They have vegetarian green chili if you don't eat meat. These were $12.59 each and if you wanted to chose a different side dish the only options you have are tomato slices (free) or cottage cheese ($3 up charge). For a diner feel this is just WAY too much! They don't offer fruit at all. Their strawberry preserve on the table was delicious so don't miss out in that if you go. If you check my recent reviews you'll find how disappointed I was by an upscale, rave-reviewed breakfast place downtown. Sunrise Sunset fully restored my faith in Eggs Benedict in Denver that isn't from Tom's Diner (my standby). I hate to say it Tom's, but Sunrise Sunset might have you beat here. I don't do this lightly, but my last experience here warrants it. *deep breath* Three of us went to Sunrise Sunset early on a Saturday morning. We had plans for the rest of the day, but we all agreed that a good solid breakfast was in order. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy -- they were only seating people on the right half of the dining room. We were seated quickly, and our order was taken. I had to ask twice to have my coffee refilled. We were busy talking, so the passing of time went unnoticed until I realized that three tables that had been seated after we arrived had been served, paid, and left. Watches were checked, and we realized that we had been there for over an hour. I finally flagged down our waiter, and (politely) mentioned that we'd been there for a long time, others who had been seated after our party had eaten and left, and could he check on our food. He disappeared, then we see him chatting with a waitress for a bit. Ten minutes later, he stops by our table with the order pad, flips through it, reads some menu items from it, and asks if that was our order. We agreed that yes, by golly, that was the order that we had placed 75 minutes earlier. The waiter disappeared again without an explanation. Another ten minutes pass, and our breakfast is finally served. The waiter explained that our order had been lost. He apologized and said he would comp our drinks (which was one coffee and one soda.) So after wasting an hour of our time, not even noticing that a party was sitting around with an empty table for OVER AN HOUR, and then not bothering to give us an explanation of what had happened until after they finally brought our meal to the table, the waiter offered to comp us two drinks. Sorry Sunrise Sunset, but there are just too many other good breakfast places out there. We won't be back. read more

Great place for breakfast. Lots of options and choices, which can be overwhelming if you're just hungry and can't make a decision. That was me, in case you didn't realize. My friend and I came on a Monday morning -- she's a nurse, I'm a teacher on summer break -- and there was only one server at the time, so it took some long moments before we had water, coffee, or an order taken. There were a few other tables there so we patiently made small talk while we waited and figured out our orders. Had a nice stop in here a few days ago. Three adults and four kids. It was a really busy Sunday, but we didn't have to wait long at all. The menu was full of lots of choices and very reasonable prices. I had the chicken fries steak. I'm not sure if I just got used to eating over cooked chicken fried steak my whole life, because this one was the best I ever had. Super moist, and the gravy was delicious. I am not a breakfast person. I am not a hole in the wall little breakfast eatery person. I should, by default, not like Sunrise, Sunset. However, I really do enjoy it. It's become a family affair; my mother loves their hotcakes,and we used to come just for that. My partner loves their large amount of vegetarian friendly skillets and omlettes. I LOVE that they have a vegetarian black bean breakfast burrito that they offer without eggs, so I can eat it. We each have our own thing, and tend to stick with it. Yes, it is small and crowds easily. Yes, sometimes the service leaves something to be desired. Yes, their water cups (and small juice cups) look like they belong in a doll house. However, the food is always top notch, they are always friendly in their delivery, they always have yummy vegetarian options, and plus, their juices are hand squeezed. Now maybe it's just me, but as a waiter or waitress, if you go to pick up an order of biscuits and gravy, and the gravy had been sitting so long that it started to get that "been sitting too long" film over it, would you serve that to a customer? I was surprised by the negative reviews I saw here. One of our favorite breakfast places because of the friendly staff. We go every two months or so, but they always recognize us and greet us with big smiles.
