The ambiance is really nice, I'll give it that. Truffle fries are DELISH. Staff is horrible and management doesn't care! Two girlfriends (including a pregnant one and one that doesn't really drink) and I came here on a Saturday afternoon. We had a very strange and honestly pretty rude waiter who walked off after taking my two friends' (nonalcoholic) drink orders, and didn't give me a chance to order a cocktail. When he finally came back, I said something about how he didn't take my order before and he just stood there, without issuing an apology. He never refilled our waters even though he walked right by us several times. As we were leaving, my friend told the manager about it and he just said, "oh, okay". The Sunroom is a must visit for us during any trip to the Borgata/Water Club. This place makes for the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle out on the casino floor. There is a sense of tranquility that takes over as soon as you sit down, which probably has something to do with all the fresh gardens around, flowing waters, and even a slow-burning fireplace. . .it all comes together and makes for a great ambiance. However, if you are wondering why they are not 5 star in my books it is mainly because of two things; the service seems slow when ordering a round of drinks (like they had to run to the casino floor to grab/make your drinks) and they are seasonal and are not always open. If you are looking for a nice lounge to get a drink or maybe even a small bite this might be a good place to check out. It never seems very busy when we've been here, which is another perk! It is tucked away in the Water Club and not out in the open for all to see, which probably helps keep it relatively quiet. read more

Most of the lunch menu and breakfast item include a small salad and home fries but it is not listed so it is very easy to over order. They raised the prices and unfortunately, the Sunroom seems to have deteriorated in quality. Now it's just expensive prices for mediocre food. The old menu was left on my table so I could see the price increases clearly. The Mediterranean platter seems to have taken a turn for the worse and the price went up from $22 to $25 dollars. I had the burger for $21 dollars (up from $19) and it underwhelmed. The cheesesteak price jumped to $21 from $17 and my table mate said that the meat was not as good as it used to be. Service takes a really long time to get your food from the kitchen (it always was slow, truth be told), but this time, the runner brought out the wrong order for our table. The waitress was very kind, but the manager was aggressive and rude. He actually escalated a situation that we weren't even complaining about (the wrong order that came out). One star extra for ambiance. Skip this place for food, pick another place instead. read more

This place is within the Watertower right behind reception area. It is a great place for drinks and apps if you want to just relax a little. Because it's in the Watertower it's away from the craziness of the casino and definitely more relaxing and quiet than all the other bars. It has a glass roof, waterfall, and plants/flowers throughout. So needless to say - cool look and feel! I like their Bloody Mary's which are needed after a night in the casino. The Sunroom is a small bar nestled in the relatively quiet Water Club. It's a great place to grab an afternoon evening cocktail if you're looking to escape some of the noise at the Borgata. The bar itself has about 8 seats. There is a nice size tv over the bar and when I was there the other night, they were showing the UFC. There are a bunch of lounge-style tables with club chairs as well. Definitely not inexpensive by any means. A martini was $15, which is about on par with New York standards. The food was very expensive in my opinion - a cheese plate was $22 and a burger $18. At 8:30pm on a Saturday night, it was relatively empty and I enjoyed it. The decor is lovely, our waitress was sweet and accommodating and my organic chicken sandwich was AMAZING!! my husband had stuffed French toast and he kept ooohing and ahhing the entire time. The lounge is a lovely place with trees and a waterfall lightly cascading down a wall. Visually it's appealing with a laid back vibe reminiscent a European cafe. I tried the lobster and bacon omelet but it wasn't working it was too fishy for my taste. The rosemary home fires were delectable if a little salty, but my skim milk cappuccino was right on the money. The bf had a few issues mainly coffee not hot enough but that wasn't a deal breaker the lipstick stain on the side of the cup gave him the hibbi-jibbies. His eggs norway made up for the coffee (we were exhausted from the previous evening and would have complained to the waiter - but lack of sleep let it slide). Not terribly expensive and comfy seats. Overall a good place to have breakfast before hitting the road or getting ready for the craps tables. read more

My fiance and I normally stay at The Water Club whenever we're in AC because we love their breakfast room service. But, the Water Club was going to be closed on the days that we would be there so we stayed at the Borgata for 3 nights. On the first morning that we were there, we mosied over to the Sunroom and it was great. Since the Sunroom is in TWC, they have the same menu (unlike the Borgata) I love the atmosphere, a water fall, fireplace, plants everywhere, it feels like you're on a tropical vacation instead of being in Atlantic City. Our food came out great, they make a mean Bloody Mary and it was just a serene breakfast. The waitress with her butt hanging out of the bottom of her dress was a little odd but...that's none of my business. We will definitely be coming back when we're in Atlantic City whether we say at TWC or Borgata, we'll definitely have out breakfast there. read more

This restaurant is not handicap accessible. They say that they are, with the handicap symbol displayed prominently in two places. Trying the one nearest the front entrance, we ended up in a closed hallway that led nowhere. So,we tried the second one. That led us to an entrance with a very narrow threshold that left my wheelchair dangerously close to the top of a marble stairway. I panicked. When we got into the restaurant, there were no waitresses or hostesses to greet us, and the tables weren't suitable for people in wheelchairs. We left through the dangerous entryway, again causing me to have an anxiety attack, and had dinner at the Metropolitan, another restaurant in the casino. read more

Went for lunch on a Saturday with 3 friends. It was hard to find a table that was clean to sit out. It was very bright in there and overall dirty. We decided to eat anyway and I am giving 3 stars because the service and food were good. Quiet and peaceful...water, it is the Water Club, makes for pretty sound...bamboo and other greens...waitresses topple on high heels....and the food comes from some distant place...makes for long waits. I had the same arugula, avocado and tomato salad/sandwich and it is very good. Newspapers to read, and comfortable seats...it would be just a little more comfortable not seeing the wait staff clunking along on Those shoes...speedy flats would be better. read more

Firstly, I am a huge fan of Zakarian. That being said, the sunroom is a poor representation of his good name. Upon entry, I was "greeted" by 3 chatting employees and told to "sit wherever". My girlfriend and I were seen by both waiters and not acknowledged. After 10 minutes, a waiter came to " take our order if we were ready". Classic Bloody Mary was less then classy, espresso martini was phenomenal. Now the food.... A lobster and smoked bacon french style rolled omelette came rubbery and more of a "loose burrito" style then French. French toast was dry and crusty with little flavor. We went here for lunch during the week. The ambiance is like nothing I have ever seen before. Gorgeous and serene and a nice getaway from the rest of Atlantic City. My wife and I were here on a recent Saturday afternoon. The room is very nice, seating was comfortable and cozy. We ordered drinks, truffle fries and the shrimp tempura. The food was terrible. We couldn't eat either dish, so we ordered a burger medium-rare, it came out well done on a stale bun. The atmosphere of this place is the only reason why I'm giving it two stars. The reason being is that the only pleasant thing about this place was the atmosphere. My friends and I went here to have lunch a few days ago. While ordering, my friend asked if he could substitute a particular item for something else. Many places either allow you to or don't- it's that simple which is why he ASKED. Our waitress had such an attitude while responding, "Um you can make your own omelette. Just tell me what it is that you want..." This was the first thing that ticked us off. Second thing was her faces she was making at all of us and at other guests. Despite that, we waited over a half an hour for our food meanwhile there were 8 people including us in the lounge! I ordered a cobb salad and for $20 I was definitely expecting more. I understand that food is about quality over quantity, but this place isn't a 5 star restaurant where I would be expecting that. It should've been listed as an appetizer since I literally finished it in five minutes and wasn't even remotely satisfied. What better way to unwind, than to sit in front of a roaring fire, in a soft leather seat, and knocking back a few drinks, after a few good hours at the tables or tailing the wife around the Outlet Stores in AC. The prices for food and drink are about what one would expect for a casino, like the Borgata. The Bartenders and especially our waitress, Patricia, did a great job all night, making sure that our drinks were consistently full. They were funny, personable, and on top of their game, as it relates to service. On top of that, not one kid to be found!! My wife and I will definitely add the "Sunroom" to our "to do" list, on every future visit. The wife recommends the Raspberry Mojito and an order of French Fries!! read more
