Sun saver installed a retractable awning on our home in golden. Their installation crew did an excellent job and safely installed the awning within a couple of hours. A few months later i realized that attaching the awning under the eaves resulted in the awning being to low when it was fully extended. Their crew for a came back and said he could install brackets on our roof giving the awning plenty of clearance. This totally corrected the low clearance issue. The awning I installed is their commercial level quality because of the size. We love the awning and feel the awning is perfect for these high wind areas because when retracted you do not have to worry about it blowing away. It exceeded our greatest expectations. Jon is a magician electrician. He was able to fish the wall for the electrical and you would think the awning was battery operated, as there is no exposed, wiring, or conduit. Just had a sunsaver awning installed. It was EXPENSIVE (wow) but the installation service was great. Jon Rosseau was the lead installer and trouble shooted the heck out of my very soft brick. He came back multiple times and suggested someone who could do some work on the interior of my house to stabilize the awning - he even came to my house over the weekend to check that the interior work was being done correctly. Joshue and Cesar helped him install and were also great. Also, when it looked like the awning might not be able to be installed at all, James (the owner) offered me my money back and John offered to rebuild my pergola, no charge. I hired SunSaver back in 2017 to install a 25 ft. long awning on my deck. They did a quality job and I know I purchased a quality awning. Now it's early 2023 and I noticed a problem with the fabric (fabric tear) and some streaking from the tracking mechanism. The awning came with a 10 year fabric warranty and I dealt wiht the owner Jeff. Even though the fabric manufacturer didn't cover the whole replacement cost of the awning fabric, James on his own told me that he was going to cover the whole cost to replace the awning fabric at no charge to me. It really showed me that he cares about doing a quality job and taking care of his customers. Very honest and upright. Thanks James! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I'm having a horrible time with a faulty product and terrible customer service. I've rarely ever used the awning in the few years I've had it, always leaving it rolled up and turned off. Now it's totally broken and apparently it's all my fault (it isn't) and I have to pay an arm and a leg because they say that nothing is covered by warranty. Here's a couple of examples of their horrible customer service: when I first realized that the awning wasn't working, I waited for their techs to come out. The person that they eventually sent out was just there to take pictures of the awning and send it back to the office for someone else to decide from there what was wrong with it. I had to pay for and wait for the arm to come in. So several months later, they finally had someone come out to fix it. That's when they told me that it was actually the motor that was broken and oh, yeah, now the fabric is ripped too. They said I left it open (I hadn't). And I had a wind sensor installed on it - so even if it was open, why didn't it close up? Again, nothing is covered by warranty. So when I realized that if waited the entire summer just to hear about what's wrong - who knows what else they'll come up with if they come out to diagnose or "fix it" again. Last but not least, it was several weeks ago that I called the office to try to get to the bottom of this. The office manager said she couldn't do anything to help me so she said she would have the president of the company call me back. That was over two weeks ago! Nothing. All I received was another bill for an overly expensive awning that was only ever extended and used fewer than ten times. This whole company, service, and product is a sham. I wish I'd gone with a cheaper company that offers better. read more

Used for a solar sunshade installed Summer 2017 for my small balcony. Owner has been generally not helpful even though the company made several mistakes with measurements for shade and then installation problems with electrical (had to hire my own electrician to fix after owner told me it just couldn't be done. I had to fight the owner to pay for that which she finally begrudgingly did pay). Mostly trouble from beginning to end, including having them come out a couple months ago to fix the shade after 1 year-as it would not roll down. They "fixed" it which it then worked twice, and again does not work! Frustrating and I have a non working shade still. DO NOT recommend!! read more

We bought a retractable awning from this company. Karen Nimock is the owner and she sent her rep, Cindy Haugland out to my house. Cindy was professional in her demeanor, came on time and well prepared by bringing the fabric choices and her laptop to do a quote. She took care of it all very well. The time frame for install was within 3 weeks. The installers came during the Covid19 wearing masks and the entire process took less than half a day. The install team was the best I've ever seen. Our awning was installed on Thursday by Nick and Merrill. They did a great job installing, explaining and cleaning up after the job was done. The awning is doing everything we expected. Now, this review is not so much about the installation and workmanship which were excellent but more about their AWESOME customer support. Thursday shortly after the installation , we hard a loud pop from the vicinity of the awning. We didn't think too much about it then. Friday, the awning was working as expected. However, Saturday afternoon, my wife called to say that the awning would not retract. Neither the remote nor the hand crank did any good. I got the number for SunSaver and gave them a call....at 9PM on a Saturday night, expecting to have to leave a voice mail explaining my predicament. I was quite surprised and very pleased when Chris answered the phone. I explained my situation to her. She said she would call the installers to see if they had any idea what might have happened. Did I mention this was around 9 pm on a Saturday night? She said, if I didn't hear back from her it was because she was not able to contact anyone. I guess she was able to leave a message for Nick because, next morning, Nick called me and I was able to explain what happened. He gave me some instructions to try to get the awning to retract, but nothing worked. This was around 9 AM on Sunday. After working with Nick over the phone, he said he would be over in about an hour. Sunday morning, right? Yep. After finishing the call with Nick, I decided to retry the ideas Nick gave me. Lo and behold! I was able to get the awning to retract. I called Nick to let him know. We agreed that he could come over the next day, Monday, and take a better look. Nick and Merrill arrived and it took about 5 minutes to get everything sorted out. Turns out one of the arms had extended too far and was getting locked up. They made a couple of adjustments and all is well. So not only are we very pleased with our new awning but also with the OUTSTANDING support we got afterwards. Would I recommend SunSaver? Not only YES, but HECK YES!!! read more

Pam from SunSaver responded very quickly to our request for a bid on new fabric and possibly new mechanism. We thought we would need to replace the entire awning mechanism as it had a horrible death squeal and was old. Pam did not upsell us, told us just the fabric and she would have her crew give the mechanism a good tune up. The choice of fabrics was very good - quite a few to select from. Very quick on delivery and willing to work with us on installation time, as we had to coordinate our deck being knocked out and replaced as well. The crew was on time, professional, and very quick at installing the very large new awning fabric. We couldn't be happier with the product or the price tag. Highly recommend this company! read more

I hired them to provide and install a large retractable awning over a second-floor deck. Their salesman arrived on time and explained the options very well. I ended up buying a Total Eclipse awning, 18 feet wide and 14 feet 9 inches projection. They ordered the awning from the factory, and called me when it shipped to set an installation time. The installers arrived right on time. Because of the way my house is constructed they had some trouble finding a beam to mount he awning on, but after some study and testing they succeeded. The installation team, led by James, was very careful and courteous, and checked as they went along that I was happy with where they were arranging things. We had an awning installed for our patio, which we use as often as possible for meals, social gatherings, and often for my favorite place to do my home-based work. Karen's sales person was knowledgeable about our many options, and forthright with the cost estimate. Karen's workers were very professional and, most importantly, dedicated to getting the awning securely hung. They encountered problems due to our home's construction at the install location, but thought through to a workable solution that included ripping out soffit, shoring up the supports where the awning would be secured, replacing with new soffit that they primed and finished. In addition, they thoroughly cleaned up the work are when they were finished with the job. Here's what was so impressive to us: this was projected and priced as a 3-hour job. Because of the difficulties they encountered (beyond their control), it ended up taking the two installers, Nick and Breck, 8 hours each, as well as the purchase of the materials needed to secure the awning. Nonetheless, Karen stuck by the original cost estimate! Very impressive. read more

I recently ordered a 15.5' sunscreen from SunSaver for the patio of my daughter's 7th floor condo. This required a 50% deposit which was a little over $1700. On installation day it was discovered that the awning would not fit in the building's elevator, nor could it be maneuvered in either of the building's 2 stairwells. And even if it had fit in the elevator, the lead installer from Sunsaver said the 7th floor hallway was too narrow and the unit would not have been able to get out of the elevator. Had this issue been discovered when the original sales call and measurements took place, I would not have ordered the screen. SunSaver boasts over 20 years of experience. I assumed an experienced sales person would have caught this issue. Bottom line currently is that I am out my $1700 deposit and SunSaver is refusing to even discuss a partial refund. Exceptionally poor communication and customer service skills. read more
