I was here with a friend around 4 am after a night of clubbing. 1. Horrible service. The waiters ignored us and took forever to come take our order. 2. The waiter who eventually decided to do his job (dark-haired dude, looked Hispanic) was a miserable jerk. He acted as if we were bothering him and spoke to us in a rude tone. He got annoyed with me for trying to order a steak lol like wtf? Just ugly and miserable. And possibly racist because my friend and I are black. Perhaps he wished he was out having fun instead of being stuck waiting tables at 4am in a crappy diner. Loser! I hope you continue to work there and be miserable. 3. The steak that I ended up getting was so dry, I couldn't even finish it. It was NASTY. I asked for it to be cooked medium, either the kitchen doesn't understand what that means or they simply didn't care. Waste of money. Bottom line: it doesn't matter how drunk you are. Believe the bad reviews people! It's not that I doubted their bad Yelp rating because I have faith in Yelp. It's just that it was 4am, we wanted burgers and this was the closest place! Anyway it wasn't worth it, we should've driven the extra few minutes to Kellogg's Diner which is also 24hrs and way better!! We called in our order for pick up and, surprise-surprise, they got our order wrong! How do you forget the cheese on a CHEESEburger??!! LOL Also the other burger was very pink in the middle when we specifically asked for well done! It was so pink I don't even think it could've passed for rare! Thursday, September 1, 2022 around 7 p.m.ish, table for 2. Ordered 2 coffees which were fresh, hot, and good. Iced water was brought with menus. She had a bacon, pepper jack burger with sweet potato fries. Everything was made well. Served with pickles and coleslaw. Gyro Platter with extra salad in pace of fries. Very fresh, flavorful, and delicious. Coffees and Waters were refilled without asking but, we had to say no thank you after the 4th cups. Service and Food was very good. We never felt rushed and were check in with regularly. Staff was helpful with questions and ber friendly. Definitely returning to try other comforting foods. read more

Simply a wonderful classic diner experience. They get all the fundamentals just right, which is more than you can say about a lot of diners these days. Fast decent food with bottomless coffee. Exactly what you would expect from a good diner.

I ordered takeout from here last night. I had the cajun chicken wrap. The wrap came with out tomatoes, jalapeños our pickle on the side that are supposed to come in the wrap from what is posted online. My wrap did come with mostly wilted old lettuce and less than a teaspoon of brown old avocado. I tried to make it work and eat it after taking out avocado and bad lettuce. The wrap still wasn't good it was dry and has no type of sauce, which I didn't realize until after I ordered. I do not recommend this place at least for late night takeout. read more

Had a good experience all-around. Wanted some traditional diner food and that's what we found. Service was friendly and greeted the usuals by name. Home fries and sausage were the best. Something needs to be done because based on these reviews, the same asshole waiter has been there for years and has treated customers like they're beneath him with no repercussions. This dude comes up to our table and just says "next" a million times, interrupting our order and even leaving our table TWICE in the middle of us asking questions about the menu. No warning, and he got half our order wrong -- missing fries, a shake, the wrong type of drink, and we asked for one order to go and they brought it out on a plate. What's the point of rushing us to order if you're not even going to get it right?? The table behind us also got shafted with the wrong soup and, from the sound of it, the waiter gave them our soup and then came out much later to give us the same soup. Sometimes I really wonder about the people who write bad reviews. Before we decided to go here, we noticed several 1 star reviews. But, they all revolved around delivery. So, we decided to go. When we walked in (on a fairly busy Sunday late morning), we were promptly seated and asked if we'd like coffee. The waitress brought the coffee right away. After a few minutes to review the menu, I ordered the Ham & Cheese Omelet and my girlfriend had the 2 egg and ham breakfast. Our food was served within 5 minutes, which surprised me, considering how busy they were. As we sat and talked, our coffee cups were kept full by a very attentive waitress. All the employees were super friendly, the food was good, and the coffee was nice and hot. We noticed a constant stream of delivery people coming and going from several different companies. To go orders we're ready to go. The drivers just showed the counter person something on their phones and they'd grab the bag and go. My suggestion to those who sit home and whine about slow delivery, get off your lazy butt, go to the restaurant and enjoy some human interaction. read more

Food delivery comes 45+ minutes late at a time where it's really not busy. Once it arrived it was cold, soggy and gross. I also called the restaurant and the guy who picks up is so rude and kept telling me to wait "10 more minutes" even after I called again after 10 minutes later. I ordered fajitas and got no tortillas, no sour cream, and no salsa. Just cold rice and gross shrimp fajita mix doused in some kind of salty sauce. Shouldn't have trusted them with my appetite. Not sure why all the bad reviews! This is a diner, not a course meal restaurant. The food was great. Delivery was super quick also! And another perk is they're open 24 hours so you can't beat being able to eat a burger for breakfast. Their burger was delicious! I ordered the meat medium well and it was amazing! The vegetables that come on the side were super crunchy and fresh. There was also a pickle in a baggie. The fries were delicious. They are definitely seasoned, and they're great ! Also they do give you ketchup! It's disappointing when you order fries and they don't send ketchup, but sunset diner def gave me enough for my meal and more. Will order again! read more

Normally a place like this would warrant 2 stars, but considering how dysfunctional it is, I'd rather just hasten its death. Typical diner, giant menu, Greek owners, yada yada. Order came fast, but wasn't correct. I ordered a tuna melt with American cheese, stressing that the tuna should be hot. It is called a tuna "melt" after all, and not a tuna "ice cream scoop full of cold fish on a piece of untoasted bread." French fries and egg cream were good, but then again, if you can't get those right then you also probably have to write notes to yourself to remember to breathe. Also the prices fluctuate, apparently, being twice as expensive as what's listed on their website and Seamless. Anyway, I ate in because I read a bunch of horror stories about the terrible delivery. Turns out their delivery guy is some mush mouthed weirdo who screams at the customers and can't follow a GPS. The owners were all standing around kvetching about him, so I guess he's probably their junkie kid and not someone they'd be willing to fire. In conclusion, go to a deli or something. The food is good but delivery is terrible. I had to wait for almost an hour to get my breakfast food. Every time I order on-line something is missing, wrong or in this particular time, the coffee cups crushed and coffee was everywhere. I called and they said they would send it right over but it took 30 minutes for the replacement coffee. Needless to say, I had a cold breakfast waiting for this coffee. Definitely a jewel. Sadly, nyc is losing classic old school diners like this. They're simple, the people are nice, it's not pretentious, the food is solid, and you just feel comfortable here. If I lived closer, I'd be here weekly. Good breakfast specials till 11am. Classic diner coffee; it's not burnt like Starbucks, and it's not single origin or anything fancy. This neighborhood restaurant has a lot of good different dishes. They are kids friendly the service is very familiar. Their salmon tuna is delicious, they have a wide variety of wraps # 18 is my favorite. They also have daily dinner specials. On my last visit to this place, it has change so much.
