I contacted Sunset feed and they got me in touch with the gentleman that puts these together. He helped me with some troubleshooting and told me to come into the store for a replacement part. When I got there they were waiting with the replacement part in hand. What makes this special is that this was the Saturday before Memorial Day and this gentleman was on his day off. I came here because I was trying to help my mom look for a safe way to kill the fleas off her dogs. We don't want to use anything that may be toxin as they are small dogs and like to lick each other a lot plus chew on any collar we may put on them. I found online something called diatomaceous earth. Pet shops don' sell it, and the ones at Home Depot and Lowes says 77% diatomaceous earth and 23% other ingredients, which get me a bit concerned. I went in, the lady who offered to help me knew immediately what I was looking for, gave me tips and advice on how to use it, and even hunt around for some samples for me. Amazing. Theirs isn't 100% diatomaceous earth either, but at least they have information that the other filler is flour, baking soda and salt, which is safe enough to rub onto animals (which is how the lady uses it on her dogs.) There is a Yelp check in offer for $5 off dog food. Turns out it's only for 25 lb bags, which I don't quite need, but the lady again sounded so knowledgable about the products that I ended up buying a small bag, without discount. Awesome, awesome 5 stars service. Their pet supplies are somewhat limited in selection, so not necessarily the go-to place for what I need, but I can totally recommend shopping here if they have what you are looking for. read more

I love, love, love the whole farm life... feed stores are generally pretty cool retail spots and Sunset feed bests the rest. The staff is friendly, the selection is awesome, the store is clean, well-organized and even smells good. I buy our dog food, pet supplies and occasionally other goods from this store and am always happy when I leave. Prices are consistent with online vendors and stock quantities are consistent. So why only four stars? The traffic around there is HORRIBLE and sometimes parking can be a bear. Chuck Wagon is pretty busy and in the same shopping center. I assume that is why the parking gets so tight. Depending on time of day, I at times opt to head over to the feed store on Krome, just to avoid the Kendall and 117th traffic nightmare. iIt was a nice place to shop and get supplies many years ago. It seems their prices are inflated. when I compare their items to their supplier prices it is high. Also , we had a gift card for 300.00 dollars from my husband's retirement, we didn't use for two years due to Covid and we are snowbirds. They cancelled it and did not want to honor it. I came here to buy my first ever pair of boots. It was a Saturday morning so I don't know if that was the reason why the two lady's were rude and not helpful at all. They did not have a great selection left in my size. I asked the lady to please help me because I didn't know how they are suppose to fit. She just looked at me and shrugged her shoulders. I went to return one bag of pellets total price $9. I bought it as litter for my kitty who tragically passed away. I had some receipts from ordering online but not the most recent one. The bag was checked to make sure they could resell it, it was sealed and in perfect condition. After going back and forth to get permission to process the credit refund, they said that since I didn't have the most recent receipt they would not be able to refund it. I explained that it was what I was able to find. I was distraught, in pain suffering for the loss of my baby, my heart is shattered into a billion pieces and I am having to beg for a $9.00 refund. I insisted to speak to the owner, she immediately had me in tears, ignoring my emotional state. She told me she would not refund the $9.00, for me to donate the bag or use the store credit to buy a soda. I explained I couldn't use anything in that store since my Kitty was dead! I can't buy anything for my baby who I no longer have, how cruel can a person be to someone who is mourning the loss of their precious companion? I told her he had passed away 3 days prior and I was dealing with a lot since he had being viciously killed by two dogs. She showed no care or emotions,her response "It is the store's policy therefore will not refund the $9.00" I haven't eaten in 3 days due to my tragic loss and she tells me to buy a soda with the credit. I felt as if she was stabbing me in the heart and triggering the pain that I was already feeling into a more painful emotion. This owner's behavior should not be rewarded! For a Business owner to to take advantage from the tragedy/hurt/loss of a customer is heartless, disgusting and despicable behavior! Instead of making it a peaceful transaction she made my situation worse. she made it hurtful ugly and disrespectful to my suffering and disregarded my loss, I asked if $9.00 was going to break her bank account her response was "It is store policy" the receipts I have show no such information. She stated she had tried a certain pant and while riding she decided it was not for her so she returned it as though we could also return an item if my daughter tried the items purchased and it wasn't to her liking or didn't fit. In fact we are not being allowed to return these items. The chaps and dressage shoe combination together do not allow my daughter's feet to bend which is required to ride properly. Been coming here for years to purchase my dog food and to support a local business in my area. When they introduced the buy 12 bags and get one free reward program and I tried to claim my free bag the first time and they made such a fuss about the free bag I said to forget about it a just charge me the full price for the bag and to please remove me from the program. Ever time I went in after that they constantly asked me why I wasn't in the program and I told them my experience. They promised me they had a new system in place and I would never experience that issue again. It's been smooth sailing until today, I went up to the counter and they went back to wanting to charge me for my free bag. I told the young woman at the register to please check that this is my free bag, when she had to go to their other computer to check then all the excuses starting pouring out saying that I had not purchased the exact same food and so on. Another employee came out and had me pay the difference of one food to try to work something out but it was still very disappointing and distasteful that they go through some much trouble not to give you the rewards you earn. I told the woman at the register that I've been going there for seven years and I won't be coming back again and she just shrugged her shoulders and couldn't care less.
