The use by June 23 beef, which I was given to purchase on the evening of June 22.
Judy L.

Usually, I shop at a different Sunset location, where I am treated very well by the staff, but I was passing this one. The Long Grove staff (fish, meat, and cashier) was unkind, and could not care less about how I was treated as a customer. I had to ask the meat manager for two pounds of grass fed ground beef. He came back with two packages, and gave them to me. I noticed the date was going to expire the next day! I asked him about it, and he said "You get this, and have two days to use it." He would not give me different beef, or the correct amount I had asked for. I only received 1.46 lbs, not the 2 lbs I needed. He turned away from me to help a different woman. It was not crowded, by the way. I will never use the meat counter at this location ever again. I went to use the meat, and it had already begun to oxidize. Clearly, he was trying to dump the old meat. This is not the Sunset way, or at least the way I knew as a child. My mom and grandma always bought their meat and poultry at Sunset, but not at this location. Try Highland Park, or Libertyville.

Egg deal
Ms B.

First timer oh boy. First impression the employee at the door greeted me with a cheery smile. The employee beside her looked me in my face & proceeded with the baked goods until another customer walked in then she cheerfully greeted him. I only visited to purchase the organic egg deal, & to browse the store. I walked the store searching for eggs. I stopped in the middle of the floor baffled at the layout unable to find the eggs, an employee walks past me, no acknowledgment. Two employees standing against the wall in friendly chat looked me in my face & continued their conversation. God forbid they break their chat to ask the customer if assistance is needed. I proceeded to search for the eggs retracing my steps certain I must have missed them. I encountered a frequent customer frustrated that "they've completely changed everything around" An employee with a mop walks up & they begin chatting. In the end it was the regular customer (not an employee) who not only directed me to the eggs, but followed up when I encountered him again heading towards the checkout. The egg deal I intended to purchase was an "error in this week's advertisement". After the frustration trying to locate the eggs I didn't even bother browsing the disorganized store. Based on my experience in the store, the disorganized layout, unhelpful employees, scarce options I seriously doubt I'll be returning. The store was clean, plenty of parking.

One piece of chicken, little bit of mash potatoes, 3 mini hush puppies, and some Mac and cheese. $10. I got ripped off.

Small business feel with great customer service. Nice selection in every department; is not a one stop shop type of store. Decent bakery.

The first time we ordered from here was through the website and we drove up to pickup the food. First, the app... perfect. Need gluten free food filtered? Yep! Need low carbs and zero sugar filtered? Yep! Did you decide to go into the store instead and need to turn it into a shopping list telling you which aisle and section it is located in? Yep! Honestly, it is fantastic. Next, it is employee owned. Everyone inside seems to care about making you a happy customer because they own a stake in it. Lastly, this place is massive! I can't rally explain to you how massive. It is 242,000 square feet of groceries. For scale, that is 15 commercial Boeing 737 jetliners inside or 395 full sized semi trucks or the entire New York City Central Park Zoo! It has every food you could imagine with every gluten free, keto, and zero sugar option my family craves. Want that Mountain Dew Voltage raspberry soda you thought was long gone? Yep! Want those Keto ice cream bars that taste better than standard ice creams? Yep! You got a customer for life. Well done!

In need of household goods, we made the trek and figured there was at least a few options available. We were wrong, this place is not a typical grocery store. It's a food emporium, with tons of aisles and plenty of choices. Was surprised they didn't have any manned stations (meat, deli, and fish usually have someone there with fresh products). This place just has more aisles. And while we might have one or two cases of a specific type of item, you got full aisles. And not just one aisle, but multiple. And many different brands and types. It's impressive to say the least. The discover only for card payments was a little weird. But not an issue since they take cash. Price was fairly reasonable as well. All-in-all, a fun trek for a mundane task. If you need to find a product, check woodsman's. They probably got it

I'm not sure if there's other international markets in this area that are really anywhere near as large (super huge stores like H-Mart, Assi, Seafood City, etc. are quite far from Mundelein). This store is truly impressive in the amount of options offered from hot food to produce to dried foods to foods from other local shops. Due to the size of the store, there is considerably more room to walk around and check out products here even where they're busy -- similar to the experience you'd get a Woodman's. The amount of decorations and displays is definitely much better here than most other grocery stores, rivaling Mariano's in terms of presentation. Prices are fair here, particularly for the international items which are competitively priced here compared to non-specialty stores. The produce is fresh and plentiful, with options for more unusual fruits and vegetables as well. At the end of the store, there's also a spot for dining and a few small shops. Overall worth a trip if you're looking for a one-stop-shop for all your grocery needs. This provides a comprehensive and enjoyable shopping expereince.
