Library Lounge at Skytop Lodge feels like stepping back in time in the best possible way…read more From the moment you walk in, everything slows down. Dim lighting, big comfortable leather chairs, bookshelves lining the walls, a fully stocked bar, and historic photos throughout the space create a classic lodge vibe that feels timeless without being stuffy. It is cozy, polished, and incredibly relaxing. The staff is knowledgeable and clearly takes pride in what they serve. The craft cocktails are well made and thoughtful, and if you prefer beer, there are solid options there too. As a bourbon lover, I especially enjoyed their private barrel pick served neat, a real treat and easily a standout pour. This is a perfect pre-dinner or post-evening stop, we have done both, and it works beautifully either way. Dress is slightly casual but leans upscale, and while pricing is a bit higher than average, it feels completely worth it for the setting, quality, and experience. We sank into the chairs, talked story with friends, and lost track of time, which really says it all. If you are anywhere near Skytop Lodge, make sure this is on your list. Plan extra time, you will want to linger.

We were so impressed with Early Terrible during our last visit to Woodstock that we simply had to…read morego back this time. Unfortunately, it was cold and rainy on this occasion, so enjoying their sprawling outdoor area was out of the question. Instead, we grabbed some drinks from the bar and took them over to one of their worn-in leather couches. My first cocktail was the Jalapeno Margarita with its inclusion of blood orange puree. I liked it well enough, but it had a lot of orange flavor, which I was not super into. I preferred my companion's Smoke Signals, which was like a spicy mezcal margarita with pineapple. Secondly, I had their Hot Apple Cider spiked with mezcal, which I enjoyed more, despite (or, rather, in spite of) it being super boozy. From the log cabin-ish vibe to the friendly staff and excellent cocktails, Early Terrible is a creative lounge worth exploring.

The cocktails here are heavenly! Simply ambrosial. We sat outside on a hot & lazy afternoon in the…read moregarden, basking in the lovely ambience, sensual wafts of incense, and colorful music, and felt transported to some exotic locale. The interior bar is cool too - intimate, lodgey - with more of a party atmosphere at night. The staff all seem arty, bohemian and hip. On Fri-Sun, you can order wood-fired pizza from the Mud Club next door (same owner). We had a sausage and shiitake pie and it did not disappoint! The bar nibbles are otherwise quite light and limited, so come prepared to drink and dance but not stuff your face, unless you come on pizza days. Would I be a regular if I were local? Almost certainly yes!

Yes, yes, yes. We shared a couple of great appetizers (tallow truffle fries and Spanish meatballs) and I can see why my friend goes often. Beautiful new colors and decor in this grand old bar! Cannot wait to return. Crystal Street now has a cool bar instead of a raunchy dive bar in this spot. Want to try a steak (rare!) next time! Notation: I like many dive bars but the one that previously occupied this space...nah. The owners kept the old bar, totally spruced it all up. Looks and smells divine. Nice back patio too! Vision!

The bartenders were amazing and made everyone convertible. A woman with an incredible voice was singing and it made everyone relax. The wait staff served as if the candle lights and loss of power didn't even exist. The kitchen served amazing food despite what must have been horrible conditions with no fan or cooling to make their environment bearable. We are regulars, but the performance provided by this staff went over and beyond on a warm night with no power. We were blown away and can't recommend this restaurant and everyone that works there any higher.
