This has to be the worst food on Marco island. The view is great but thats about all i can say positive about this restaurant. When we parked we noticed a smell of old burnt cooking oil outside. Kenneth gave us excellent service! It was a perfect place to see the sunset. I ordered the steak tacos which were tough and fatty. The french onion soup had lentils in it and fried straw strings that were not tasty. Blackened grouper was very tasty. The stuffed flounder was a bit burnt and came with a hot ranch sauce that was not good. To enter the restaurant you need to enter the Apollo hotel to park at a charge of $45 unless you get your receipt validated. This was hard to read on the sign. read more

This was a nice seaside restaurant in south beach Marco island. Dining in here allows you to access the beach which is super cool. If not it is 8$ for a day pass. Food and service were average. Yes, it's a nice view. The food is okay, the drinks were great. We had fried grouper and Mahi tacos, both fine if not thrilling. The batter is fried right but has no zap. Some spice would help, or maybe a spicy dip? The tacos would have been better blackened but the quality was good. Anyway, easy to kick back a bit and either sit on the porch or at the bar, which also has a nice view. Then go for a walk on the beach. Don't forget to validate your parking ticket. We got carryout (drinks and food) to the beach. Everything was reasonably tasty and hot (except the drinks - which were cold and in convenient to go cups). Location overlooks beach and is accessible by a boardwalk ramp. Proximity to beach made for an easy dinner watching the sunset. There are garbage and recycling cans at beach exit for waste. We did not dine in and my husband picked up the food so I can't comment on the facilities, but did see a number of people dining on a patio overlooking the ocean. read more

This was a great beach option for lunch. Everyone enjoyed their food and said they would certainly return given the opportunity. The drinks here were strong but very tasty. I had the French onion soup which was a fun twist on the original but still quite good, maybe a little peppery for what I like. The French fries were crispy and the salad was refreshing. Once again, Marco Island is a Trip Advisor town. Yelpers here have been really inconsistent and written some bad reviews--so when you show up to a place you literally have no idea what you're getting. Here's the low down on this place. 1) Outdoor dining. We came for a super early dinner thinking we could get a good spot to watch the sunset by getting ahead of the dinner rush. We ended up leaving before the sunset because we just got too hot out there! Time your visit about 30 minutes before sunset. 35 minutes? You might not get the outdoor table you want (bummer), but the patio dining just gets too lava-y to consider a long lingering meal before sundown. That being said--you can see from other pictures--if you can nail the timing, you've got a fantastic seat. 2) Service. It was ok. This place has gotten bad reviews for service and I can see how that might be a thing. There is a small and rowdy outdoor bar (even on weekdays, even at like 3pm) for people to take care of. When we asked our server for recommendations, she steered us straight. No BS. 3) Prices? Yeesh. Each of my rumrunners was $10 and just ok. Their happy hour ends at 3pm. Overall we spent too much. 4) Food. Come here and order a philly cheesesteak. It was incredible, though my arteries still quake with fear just thinking about it. Apparently the buns are flown in fresh from Philadelphia. Makes sense with all the Eagles kitsch surrounding the inside bar. Most of the reviews here seem to have been written by Yelps who had no idea what they were going to. You go here for the food and the view of the Gulf. As to the food it's good basic food. The cheese steak is very very close to the real deal. It's just as greasy as the ones you get in Philly and they even use the same Philly rolls. I had the pork sandwich tonight which struck me as a variation on the Philly cheese steak. I liked it. Slow roasted pork served with sharp provolone cheese and garlicky broccoli rabe on an Amoroso roll. The crab cake sandwich is good but the Philly cheese steak is better. They have great fries here. The service was good and we had not issue with cleanliness. Some of theYelpers here just have to get over it and enjoy the food. read more

Is the staff and management here racist? I believe so. They were not happy that we were only there for drinks and assumed we just needed parking for the beach. The manager scoffed at us and said verbatim "you can't just take up tables for drinks, you need to get out!". Never have I or my family been belittled at a restaurant before. Little do they know we are HEAVY drinkers and would have made their efforts well deserved. Went here for the first time with out of town guest and had a great meal and a fabulous sunset. Will definitely return. Highly recommend eating here when you are in Marco. Fried Shrimp, burger, peel and eat shrimp and beef cheddar melt were all fantastic. We will definitely return to try some more great food and the view can't be beat. We consider ourselves to be amongst the most local restaurant supporters in any town we travel to. We came to Sunset after a recommendation from a local attorney in the area. We arrived and were seated to a nice outside balcony for drinks and bites Unfortunately, it seems as though the restaurant has become old and stale. Our drinks arrived and were poured on us in two different occasions because the table was unstable. We kindly asked the waiter to please put a tab or a piece of paper under the unsteady leg in order for the table to become stable. He opted to taking our drinks and switching us to a different table. 50 minutes had passed, we did not have the new drinks in new table and no plates or silverware were offered We were switched to a table toward the back patio. We were presented with new drinks but they were not the drinks we had initially ordered. My husband expressed this to the manger on duty, who did not want to disclose her name. She asked us to leave the establishment because she had never experienced such an unsatisfactory review from a client, when all we had asked for was for appropriate service.. We attempted to clarify the situation and expressed our desire to stay but that there might have been a misunderstanding within our initial order. We had no appropriate service but we were still expecting to have dinner at this place I have personally never had such an unpleasant encounter in a restaurant The manager asked us to leave regardless of our kindness and desire to stay although the service completely unacceptable. My husband got up and left through the indoor restaurant. Upon leaving we approached the manager and asked for her name in order to appropriately address the situation to which she declined to disclose. Her staff approached my person in a confrontational and protective manner as if they believed I would engage in physical action towards the manager I asked and explained that footage should be propounded because there was no malicious intent on my family's behalf. Unfortunately we were forced out of the restaurant for no appropriate reason and to be unfortunately honest, discrimines against for the sole reason of being Hispanic. There was no sense for 5 males To stand before me in intents o defend their manager when there was no physical aggression presented. As an experienced law clerk, all that I requested was the managers name in order to properly address this bitter matter but it was refused at all costs. The crew threatened to call the police for no actual cause which was completely uncalled for Do not come to this restaurant. We will address the matter in a different manner but we do not recommended this experience whatsoever read more

Ended our family vacation here ! It's a fun place to watch some football and have a variety of food. Our waitress was great even when we questioned not having changing tables for my baby. She offered her managers card which was fine but felt like it was a pawn off from her manager. My husband and I declined and would never complain but for a young family, we wouldn't return as our baby needed her diaper changed and we had to leave asap. read more

Great location if you're staying in one if the hotels along the beach. It's a easy walk down the beach to the location. Drunks are good and a good spot to watch the sunset. The food is hit and miss and nothing special. Tuna rolls sounded great but when came out it was like warm and not crunchy at all. The string wonton skins that came with it was stale. It would've been a great dish if it came out hot and crunchy. The shrimp basket was pretty good. The shrimps we're cooked nice and fries were really tasty. The wings tasted good but again it came out luke warm and a bit soggy. The service was good. Very friendly and welcoming. I'd recommend just having drinks. They have a decent happy hour. read more
