I originally got my glasses done here and was very happy with the service. So I went back today to get new frames for those glasses since mine broke, I also had another pair of lenses I wanted frames for. . Apparently you need an appointment to even enter the store, so the girl came out and talked to me on the sidewalk. I told her my situation and she said that I should make an appointment for the next day and talk to the technician, or she offered to go and see herself if they had frames that would fit my lenses. She said that the technician has access to more frames but that she could take a look if I wanted to, so I told her okay go ahead. She came out with one pair of lenses in a frame and said that the other ones were so hard to get out of the broken frame that she broke one of the lenses. Okay I said, so you'll have to fix them or replace them obviously. She said she told me that this might happen which clearly she didn't, she blatantly lied to my face. If she had told me that I wouldn't have agreed for her to look for frames, I would have simply made an appointment for the next day. I'm not taking a chance of her breaking my $100 lenses, that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. She clearly didn't have the qualification and probably not the permission to do what she did and tried to cover her incompetence by blatantly lying. I'm thinking that she might have been planning on pocketing the money, that's why she couldn't offer me a replacement cuz she would have had to put her attempt to fix them on the books which she's probably not allowed to do. She said she didn't have to fix them or replace them because sometimes this happens, well when you break someone else's property you need to fix it or replace it. That's how things work in a civilized society. Then she popped the lenses out and took her frames back and my lenses too and left me with my frames. I stood in the blistering sun for about 15 minutes before I started knocking on the door, she's basically stolen my lenses. Then another girl comes out equally as rude and self-centered, I asked her to put my lenses back in the frames that they were originally in at least, even though I was going to buy one of the frames but not after this. She refuses and puts my lenses in a Ziploc bag on the dirty ground next to the door where a customer could have stepped on them. Is this a joke, this is customer service? She breaks my lenses refuses to fix them or replace them and then refuses to put them back in the frame that they were originally in, then places them on the sidewalk? This is easily the worst customer service in any store I can remember ever, if this was the last optometry store on Earth I highly advise you not to shop there for any reason or you might be treated like a piece of shit like I was. that's sad little excuse of a woman should be ashamed of herself for complete lack of integrity and self-respect. So now I have to pay $100 for new lenses that she broke? That's not how it works I'm afraid. read more

I just luuuuved the service that the front desk staff (Lydia & Sandra) gave me. There is a genuine courteousness that I usually do not receive from medical offices. I was treated a human being and not as client. When discussing the work that was needed on my teeth, Sandra their financial consultant, explained everything: from the pros and cons to all of the financial options I had. And my Hygienist, Giselda, was the most informative and the most gentle hygienists I have ever had. I thought that her procedures would be painful and uncomfortable, but as she worked on my teeth she would intermittently ask me how I was feeling. What a surprise. I really like the protective glasses she gave me, to protect my eyes and face from the flying saliva. Never had this done before. I was hoping that they would let me have those "cool" yellow shades. I never had any dentist's staff explain to me specifically what they wanted to do; what was needed; and what was not needed. I felt that I could really trust their recommendations and that was reassuring. read more

I had such a great experience at this optometry clinic! They were able to schedule me quickly, which I really appreciated. The clinic is clean, modern, and has a very welcoming atmosphere. The staff were helpful and kind from start to finish. My eye exam was thorough, and Dr. Canlas was incredibly nice and approachable. She took the time to explain everything in detail and made sure I understood everything that was being done during the exam. Their optician is chic and stylish, which made picking out frames fun and easy. She gave great insight and helped me find the perfect pair. My son and I both had appointments for eye exams at sunset optometric center. I have to say it was a great experience for us. Dr Soriano was very helpful and was great with my son who is 5 years old, she made it easy and fun for him. The office staff Cathy, Valerie, and Steven were also very helpful, and super friendly, they helped us out right away we didn't have to wait long before we saw the Dr. and when it was time to chose my sons glasses they were super helpful and patient. Loved that they were super friendly with us made the whole experience super comfortable. Will definitely be coming back every year for our exams!!!! read more

The best optometry store in echo park/ Silverlake area. They were very welcoming and helpful. Valerie was the most incredible human being that has ever worked for any optometry stores in the world! She was cool and kind and helpful. She went the extra mile in making sure that I was able to receive my glasses in time for my trip which was so wonderful. I think she might be the greatest eyewear sales person of the last 500 years of human history! If I was the owner of that store I would make sure to give her a huge raise and a stake in the company. I had such a wonderful experience here. I was greeted and seen by both Brenda and Valerie. Both ladies were very informative about the exams that were going to be done on me. I get very nervous when going to any kind of doctors office but both were super helpful and made the process very easy and comforting. When it came to choosing glasses Valerie was more than patient. I love it here. They are as competent medically as they are stylish.... As well as so patient on both sides. The Garza family could not be more wonderful and their employees continually impress. Another pleasant experience at Sunset Optometric Center: Went in today, because the frame of my reading glasses broke after intensive use (and abuse). Expected to have to pay for a new frame. Instead, they quickly replaced the broken stem, and send me on my way without charge! I was in and out in 10 minutes, paid nothing, and now my reading glasses are as good as new.
