Haven't been to Sunset Pizzeria since I was a teenager growing up in the area, so it was great to come back and see a local pizzeria still going strong--and holding its own next to John Mac's. We came in twice this past week for dinner and wings with family visiting from out of town. When you walk in, you order at the counter and then find a table. They serve beer and wine, with a nice selection. The XL pizza is definitely big enough to feed a family of four. The pizza itself is really tasty, and the crust has great flavor. The homemade blue cheese and ranch are seriously delicious--some of the best we've had. Oh and the French fries, simple but SO GOOD! Service was good, the restaurant was clean, and you can tell it's a family-owned and operated place that takes pride in what they do. Meh. Not the best. Was starving and in the area so I stopped by for lunch. I did not like the spaghetti / marinara sauce whatsoever. It had way too much black pepper. It burnt my taste bud pallet completely out and all you could taste was black pepper. I honestly just left most of the plate there , except the meatballs were decent . The pizza tasted old if you get them by the slice, I think they just leave them sitting there and then reheat them when you order them so all altogether not the best spot in the area unfortunately but at least they gave them a try. read more

Had to post a review because these bad ratings are baffling. We eat here maybe twice a month and the pizza is really good. Their house-made ranch is delicious too. I sat at the Patio Bar one day to watch a baseball game and the service was great. Cheap drinks too. What more do you need? Place is way better than people say. read more

We've dined in once and ordered pickup multiple times and never had a bad experience. It is more on the pricier side for pizza but it is very good. We enjoy the fresh garlic on the pizza. Wings are always a staple here. They have plenty of other options like calzones and sandwiches and we've tried a bunch of different things! With that being said we always end up spending around $100+tip which is pretty pricey. Service is always friendly and their dining area has a bunch of TVs. This place was such a great find! The food is absolutely delicious and very well priced. We ordered a large one-topping pizza and 20 wings for under $45, which is hard to beat. The pizza was New York-style with a crispy, thin crust and tons of flavor. You can tell it's made right. The wings were cooked perfectly, and the garlic Parmesan sauce was so good -- definitely a must-try. We also got the pasta special, and it was HUGE. Easily enough for two people (if not more). This is my favorite restaurant on the planet. Quite literally, I grew up with it: it's down the street from the highschool I went to and graduated from. I've never had a dish that I didn't love come from here. The most important thing is their ranch; it is perfect and we'd buy it in bulk if we could. Have it with the pizza, the chicken, the fries, on the salads, anything you order. (I've tried all those dishes from here by the way, they're delicious, as are the pastas, I suggest their manicotti.) You should also try their cannoli. The servers are always very polite, and I don't think I've ever seen an incident in this place. Ambiance is very laid back, but they have an Italian-American/mob theme on the walls that isn't obstructive. Come here before you leave the city, you won't regret it. read more

So far, so good!!! We love the pizza joint vibes and the food has been great so far. They have great lunch deals so definitely check that out. If you like thin crust pizza then you'll love this place. The produce on the pizzas are always fresh and I actually like the crunch of the veggies, most places the veggies are soft like they've been sitting out all day... the sunset special pizza is a fav of ours, the Stromboli was massive and very tasty. We've also had the Philly cheesesteak, the pastrami sandwhich and the chicken sandwhich all in which were delicious! Hoping to try some of the pasta and chicken wings soon!! And to the California 1 star below... if you really wanted to like this place you wouldn't have ordered the fried zucchini and base your one star off of that... it's a pizza joint!! Ugh! I really wanted to like this place! Unfortunately, I can't. First off, the bar is hot as hell. No ac. Talk about painful. Second, I ordered fried zucchini to go. Coming from CA, I really miss good fried zucchini. The only other fried zucchini I've had here is from the omelet house and they were really good. Not made from scratch but they were still good. When I got these zucchini home, I tried it out immediately. They looked good but tasted like they haven't changed the oil in a long time. There was a tangy taste to them. Ew! Also, I wasn't sure if they gave me ranch or blue cheese. That sauce also tasted tangy. It tasted like it was repurposed, like what used to happen at the catering company I worked at in CA. I was thinking about ordering a pizza but I witnessed the pizza guy heating up a pizza on the flattop. I decided to bypass that and rely on the zucchini for my first visit there. Our family had a wonderful dining experience here today! We are visiting family in Henderson and my 6yo really wanted pizza. We drove around and found this family owned place and decided to give it a try. The service was fantastic. We got a menu and the staff person was so helpful in navigating it (it's a big menu!) We ordered items off the lunch menu-slices of pizza for the kids, a salad, and a sandwich. Everything came out fairly quickly and was delicious! Moved here recently and have had a few meals either delivered or for pickup. My son loves the chicken parm. The portion size is typically pretty good size, which a 15 year old hockey player loves. However today's order not so much. Smaller portion today than usual. Just as tasty but portion size wasn't there. Lots of pasta and sauce but chicken portion wasn't great.
