My 4s screen was COMPLETELY shattered (it was in my hand when I was struck by a vehicle. Yikes!) and the bottom half of the screen was unresponsive to touch. I showed up, asked if they could help me and they said it was no problem! Very kind and polite! Customer service is top notch (the cutie repairing my phone made a joke about my half-naked David Beckham lock screen and we had a good laugh). The decor is lovely: Beautiful mural painted on the wall, bright colors, comfy couch and a nice big TV with a Roku! Very deceptive based on the strip mall it's located in. You can't judge a book by its cover for sure. I had a seat and barely got into the show that was on before they told me my phone was ready! My phone looks better than new! Lesson learned: Don't let your dad think he's become an Apple genius just because he watched a YouTube tutorial on DIY cracked screen replacement. Long story short, my dad and I didn't realize the importance of not mixing up the tiny screws in the phone despite the fact that they look exactly the same. This resulted in the dreaded blue screen of death. After a quick search on Yelp for a repair shop near my work, I got a quote via Yelp and was told that there wasn't a 100% guarantee my phone could be fixed. I brought my phone in anyways and after two days, my phone has come back to life! The two guys I worked with were extremely helpful. They even offered to replace my old screen with the new screen I brought in for free. They stuck with the quote they initially gave me and I couldn't be happier that my phone has been brought back from the dead. read more

The guys there are very kind, and work quite quickly. They fixed the shattered screen of my iPhone 5 in about one hour, as well as the LCD that was broken as a result of me sleepily slamming my phone from the nightstand onto the floor. They do also give you a 30 day warranty on services rendered which was great because (and this is the reason for the four stars instead of five) I had to go back and get my front facing camera fixed as it was broken during the process of them fixing the screen. But, less than $90 to get the screen and LCD repaired isn't too bad, all things considered, and they have a parking lot! Bonus. read more

I thought that they did a good job fixing my iPhone 6s, and did it at a reasonable price. I got a glass protector screen, so that if I did drop it, the glass protector would crack, and not my iPhone screen. Well, I dropped my phone, and it landed on it's back, but the glass protector did nothing, and my screen cracked. Would not recommend buying a protector screen from there. Long, long overdue review by a couple of years - realized just now I wrote it out and then didn't post it. Big Oops. But because of the positive experience that I remember, I figure better late than never. The following is what was on the original review that I forgot to post. ----- Unlike most of the reviews, I don't own an iphone but a "big in Asia but no presence in the US" smartphone. When my screen broke to the point of not working, I dropped in here based on the prior reviews and asked them if they can fix the screen on it. The guy was upfront, admitted he's never seen, much less worked with, this particular brand of smartphone before and suggested it would probably be cheaper for me if I had insurance. The problem is with insurance, I'd have to request a insurance claim then send this phone to Asia to be fixed, and it would take at least a few weeks - I have other phones, but I couldn't be without this particular phone for all that time - I had work info on it that I couldn't back up before the screen became unuseably broken. The guy said he could try, but honestly due to his inexperience with this phone, couldn't guarantee the quality of work that he could do with iPhones and other brands he normally works with. He said it'll take him a few days to track down parts and fix it. Hmm.. Few days vs at least a few weeks if I went the insurance route. Easy choice. So I left it with him hoping for the best. 2 days later, he calls me to inform me my phone is done. Whoa! Much quicker than he had originally estimated, by at least 2 days. When I got there, the phone was PERFECT. He explained how he had tried looking for just the parts, couldn't find any that could ship just the parts within the time frame he had promised me, BUT luckily found a guy who was selling this phone that could ship it overnight. He had ordered it, and swapped all the motherboards and chips and stuff from my old broken phone, put it into the new one - effectively making it a new phone, just with all information I needed from my old phone. At this point, I'm expecting I'll have to pay alot more considering he had to order a whole other phone. But nope. He said he was gonna keep the extra parts from the phone he ordered for practice, and that this had actually been a learning experience for him, and now if someone else comes in with off mainstream brand phones, he'll know what to expect. He said since it's his first time time working with this particular brand, even if it looks and works perfectly now, problems might arise later he didn't anticipate, and if so to just bring it back and he'll take a look. As such, he was going to charge me alot less than even the price he quoted me originally. Wow. That statement itself told me everything I needed to know. I'll put it in caps to emphasize the point. HERE IS A GUY WHO TAKES PRIDE IN ENSURING THAT THE WORK HE DOES IS OF THE UTMOST QUALITY FOR A VERY REASONABLE PRICE- AND IF HE'S NOT SURE HE CAN GUARANTEE TOP QUALITY, HE'LL BE HONEST AND WILL NOT NICKLE AND DIME YOU FOR MORE THAN WHAT HE FEELS IS REASONABLE. How rare is that in this day and age? He just earned a customer for life. I mean, hopefully I don't break phones no more but if I do, he has a customer for life. I'm recommending anyone who has broken their phones (most ppl I know own Apple so it would make sense for them anyways) to this place. Talk to Albert and he will give you his honest assessment after checking your phone. In my case I dropped my phone and the screen went black. I called him before going in, if it is just disconnected or loose connection they will fix it for free. That to me is trying to win your trust and he did. I went there and he look at it and he saw some vertical lines that tells him that a LCD screen is needed. In 20 minutes I was out of his store and he even added a screen protector for free because I had a protector on my phone. Keep up your good work folks and people will come back for sure. I came here to get my iphone 5 screen repaired for $55. Andy helped me out and he was knowledgeable, great customer service, he did the job within 20 minutes and gave me a great price. There's a 30 day warranty on the screen which is unusual and a great perk. Plenty of parking in the strip mall and easy location! Warning: The hours listed online (10am-8) are incorrect and the store is actually open from 10:30-8pm on weekdays, lunch is from 2:00-2:30 but that time is not completely set and can be later. There is also a $3 service charge for cards so bring cash if you want to avoid extra charges. I'm very happy with the service I received today. I dropped my iPhone face down and it shattered to the point of being extremely annoying to look at or work from. Andy was very professional, told me it would be 30-45 minutes, but I don't even think it took that long. He wasn't thrilled with the first screen replacement so they did another one that seems to be working perfectly. He gave me a free screen protector and their work has 30 day warranty. The last time this happened I went to Staples for the replacement, it took them half the day, it wasn't done as well and it was about $30+ more. They also sell accessories that compete with Amazon prices and blow Staples and Best Buy out of the water. I'll be back for a new case and ear buds soon. I really hate that I have to write this update. The first time I dealt with sunset wireless was great. I wrote my first review that very day. But later that night I noticed my home botton on my iPhone was loose, and it was not working properly. I paid it no mind at the time, because I could still access my phone so no big deal, I was thinking I'd go back to sunset wireless later that week to ask them about it. (I also live an hour away from the place- more if stuck in LA traffic, so turning around and getting my phone checked out was inconvenient) Well, a couple days later my phone wouldn't turn on at all, so I had to high tail it to sunset wireless. The guy I dealt with this time was rude beyond belief. I explained the problem (that the home botton on my phone was not working and this had never been an issue before I got my iphone repaired there a week prior) He got defensive, refused to even look at my phone, then insinuated that I destroyed my phone on purpose. I had just spent my money at your establishment earlier that week, you can't take a look at the repairs you did to it? I asked him if it was possible for my phone to be fixed. He said he didn't know, he would have to look at it. When I asked when that could be, he huffed, rolled hours eyes, scratched his belly, puffed, grumbled, then he informed me it would be $30 bucks for him to look at my phone, and if I left it with him I could get it back by the next day evening (24 hrs). I politely declined, and went to my neighborhood sprint store, where I bought a new phone. (I would've liked my old iPhone instead of a new one but hey, I liked having a phone that worked more). I wish that the guy who I dealt with on my first visit had been working when I had to go back. He was polite and professional. He could've told me that it would've been more money and time and I wouldn't have been as upset as having to hear it from someone who was rude to me. read more

My boyfriend repeatedly told me to buy a cover for my phone that hangs over the edge so if I drop my phone face down the screen won't break. I ignored him and I dropped my phone face down on bathroom tile and the screen broke. Needless to say I have only had my phone for about 7 months and I wasn't about to go buy a new one or send it to Apple and pay over $200 for a new screen. I also wasn't going to try to lie to Apple and try to get the screen fixed with the warranty so the hunt for screen repair begins. I live in Ktown so naturally I searched only in LA. I called the first 3 places with great reviews on Yelp and I was not quite satisfied. One guy said $99 and cash only, nope all my cash right now is going towards a move. I called another person and he quoted me $169.99 but he would come to my apartment that day and I could pay with a credit card. Mmmm I was paying more for convenience and with a price tag that high I might just consider Apple or finding $99 in cash. I called another place and it was $100-$120 and I forgot to ask about credit cards. Finally I called Sunset Wireless, they gave me a quote of $80-$100 and said its an additional $3 if I want to pay on my credit card. Victory! I found the place and I went on a Thursday afternoon around 4:30. Parking was easy to find and it was not a bad drive from my place in Ktown. The guy working there was very nice and was finishing up with a family. It took him probably a half hour but I was plenty entertained with a television and a bunch of magazines. I was also scoping out their great selection of phone covers. I have been using my phone with the new screen for over a week now and I haven't had any issues. The guy was kind enough too to double check with me before I walked out the door that everything was working correctly. Also he checked my settings to make sure something else didn't break with the screen but everything was fine it truly was only the screen that was broken. When it was all set the price was $83 ($80 for the repair $3 for the credit card). And for reference this repair was for an iPhone 5C. I will be coming back here for any future minor phone issues. read more

While Sunset Wireless did fix my cracked screen (a process that took three days), they returned my phone without a functioning proximity sensor. Their repair also killed the vibration function in my phone. The whole thing cost 100 bucks. I feel more than a little cheated. read more

STAY AWAY After reading all of the great reviews on this place i went in with full confidence of having a great experience. Alas, not the case here. In my initial phone call i explained the problem with my phone and he was sure it would be an easy fix "20 minutes $35". "Great news!" i thought. So i went in the next day planning my errands around dropping off my phone that would be ready in 20 minutes. (I allotted an hour if they couldn't get to it right away). When i got there he said it was an easy fix and that it would be ready the next day at 10:30 am and would cost $40. "Crap". Ok, no biggie I'll do without my phone, could be nice to unplug for a day. Price went from $35 to $40 again, no big deal. I show up the next day at 1pm giving them plenty of time past their 10:30 am quote. He (Andy) looks at me with an "oh sh*t" look and searches his counter for my phone - not there. He picks up the phone and calls his repair guy asking where my phone is. They go back and forth a bit then he tells me it will be at the store at 3pm. No good for me since i have to go to work. I say i'll pick it up tomorrow, "no, we're closed on Sunday, where do you work?" I told him where i work and that i'll be there until 3am bartending. He then tells me he'll call me later for directions and that he'll take my phone to me at work. I thought well, that's pretty cool, he's taking responsibility for it and actually cares. All that night i was extremely busy but i made it a point to constantly check my messages so as not to leave him hanging. Fast forward to 3am and checking messages about 20 times: no phone call. Since they were closed all day Sunday i had to wait until Monday. I call Monday and someone else answers that knows nothing about my phone or it's whereabouts. He said he'll have Andy call me in a couple of hours. ... no phone call from Andy. I call back, still no Andy. I call back again before they close at 8 and he says my phone is finally fixed and it will be there when they open. I show up at 11:30 the next day (3 days after they said it would be ready) and this guy looks around the desk and there's my phone. It won't turn on. They never charged it. There was a phone charge literally two feet away from my phone. Did it cross their mind that maybe a charged phone could be convenient to me? Especially after being jerked around these past three days? Apparently not. I let him know I'm not happy about it and he says "i just work here". So i ask to speak with the manager or owner and he gets Andy on the phone. I let Andy know I'm not happy and i remind of him all that has happened and his response was "so, what's your point" Seriously, "so what's your point". I was shocked. Not once did he say sorry or let me make it up to you or i'll take $5 off your fee. Nothing. At that point i just laughed. I couldn't believe it. No one cares here. All they want is your money. That's their prerogative, there's no rule that says they have to care. It's just the way they choose to do business. I hate to think of where i would be if they somehow lost my phone or damaged it. I seriously doubt I'd be reimbursed. Needless to say i will never go back to these people and i strongly encourage you to stay away as well. 1/20/15 read more

I have an iPhone 4s and initially I refused to put a case on it. I got the phone because I like the thin size of it as well as the OS. Well, lo and behold I dropped my phone. For some reason iPhones seem to be like cats, but instead of right side up, they land upside down. (though I hear they have a patent on the way to flip this) So I cracked my screen. NOOOOOOO. I found out that Apple wanted to charge $199 to fix this and I just thought that was ridiculous, so I turn to my old friend Craig's List. I found a few places but I decided on one called iDoctor or something in Pasadena. Mainly because they would drive to my location and fix the screen in 15 mins for $75. They were nice and all, although they were late and since we were meeting at a Starbucks it was inconvenient. What I didn't like was that my screen was not as good as the stock Apple screen. When you turned the phone to the side the colors would look bluish. (so the viewing angle of the screen was not to Apple specs) This kind of bugged me but I figured you get what you pay for. (To be fair, I never complained to them and didn't give them the chance to fix it. I just figured it was what it was so I lived with it) Still refusing to put a case on it, the Universe was intent in teaching me a valuable lesson. So, months after getting the screen fixed I dropped the phone again and once again, the Upside down landing mechanism engaged perfectly and my screen was shattered again. I figured this was my excuse to go for the iPhone 5. But with 2 months left on my contract I decided to wait. Plus I needed some info on my phone and the screen was not powering up. I decided to go back to Craig's List but use a different vendor. That's where I found Sunset Wireless. I did have to drive to them but they were located much closer. (in Hollywood) they also stayed open late. (9pm the day I went) At first my gf iPhone took us about 1/2 block away on the iPhone Maps app. (should have used google maps) but we called them and they directed us to the strip mall where they are located. There was plenty of parking when we arrived at 8:30pm. I was greeted by the guy I spoke on the phone and he was very pleasant. It was $60 to fix my iPhone 4s screen at the time of this review. He gave my phone to a more serious looking guy who took it in a separate room and began the work. While he was fixing it, I looked at their phone bumpers and decided to buy some. At $10, the bumper is cheaper than most stores. I also told him I wanted to get a screen protector and he threw that in for free and the guy in the back installed it. (he also put a screen protector on my gf phone for free.) Apparently that serious, tougher looking guy has a knack for putting these protectors without getting any air bubbles between the screen and the plastic. Very Nice. We ended up buying 2 sets of headphones for the phones. These are just like the new ones that come with the iPhone 5 and are supposed to fit your ear better. I haven't tried mine, but at $15 you can't go wrong. Oh, and one more thing. The screen they put in on my phone looks of much better quality than the one I got in Pasadena. It no longer turns bluish color when I look at the phone from the sides. Also the backlight seems much more evenly distributed (specially around the edges of the screen. Where the last screen was not even) So, all in all, I highly recommend Sunset Wireless!!! at least for customer service and for fixing your broken iPhone. ps: thank you Universe for teaching me a wonderful lesson. :) read more
