If you want to experience clouds of soft, rich, and delicious smoke that will send your head spinning and relax your tired muscles and spirits, you have got to try some of the outstanding tobacco sold in Sunshine Coast store. Dozens of delectable flavors with such local favorites as lemon-mint, lava, hypnotic (!), fruit-roll-ups, rose, and white peach conveniently packaged in decent-sized containers, sold at $15 for any three flavors. And, the store features an open hukkah bar where you and your friends can sit down and sample the merchandise before making the inevitable decision to stock up on it, and soon. But even aside from the quality merchandise that really sells itself (and did I mention their recent shipment of hand blown, glass hukkah?!!) what you really will come back for to this place is its outstanding customer service. Not typical for Haight Street smoke shops, this store has a friendly and knowledgeable crew, who are down to laugh with their customers, pass around the store shisha, or even play chess with them when they are not busy. Indeed, on my last visit to Sunshine Coast, I was yet again impressed by the integrity, honesty, and great service I, again, received. When I came in to the store, I was greeted by the owner -- a young, friendly, American guy with near constant grin on his face -- who invited me to join the sampling of his latest merchandise --- the prized, beautiful glass bowl hukkah. This heavenly apparatus emitted clouds of smoke that were so thick and smooth that I wanted to buy it, right then and there. Remarkably, the owner actually talked me out of it, reminding me that I already purchased a great smoking hukkah from him, and an extra bowl, and that I should just "come in and smoke it here before you buy, to make sure you like it." Of course, on my next paycheck, I will come back for that hand-blown hukkah. But in the meantime, I appreciate him not pushing my decision, and, as always, great service. Came here yesterday to buy a hookah pipe. I have actually been here before to buy some cigarettes, and also to buy coals for an old hookah pipe I had before. This time I came to buy a new pipe since I have gotten rid of the other one. I went in looking for one with two hoses but unfortunately they didnt have one that wasnt too small. I still found one that I like with only one hose, and its a really nice size and all. Came with a little carrying case. So I bought some watermelon flavored tobacco, a tropical fruit flavored one and a pack of coals. Total came out to about a little over $50. Not bad at all, so my friend and I went 50/50 on it since we will both be using it. Came home, set it up, put some tobacco in there with some of my own "secret" blend. That thing worked like a beauty. I will definitely be purchasing from them even more now. read more

S.F hookah bars are a real gamble; you never know what you're going to get. Personally, I like my hookah bars to follow the rule of the three Cs: cozy, casual, cheap. So far, sunshine coast is the only hookah bar I've found in s.f that meets all three requirements. the place has a warm atmosphere and it's combine a younger and older ambiance This place is no frills, but the service is wonderful. Our waiter was friendly, helpful, and very charming. The hookah is on the higher end of cheap, but the flavors were great and we were allowed to manage our own coals. Also, the Turkish coffee is a must have. Our waiter says they use imported coffee, and whether or not that's the case, the stuff is delicious. They have the greatest hookah selection and tobacco that goes along with it. The lava flavored tobacco is very strong and fruity it 's one of the popular flavors which the employees usually suggest. The employees are usually friendly and try to accommodate. They have a wide selection of hookahs and sell mini hookahs ($19.99) and larger ones $40-$100 for a decent price. Before visiting sunshine coast, i had only rarely encountered hookahs first hand, and really had no idea how much potential those gurgling smokestacks truly held. The very first time I smoked a properly prepared hookah, with the expert coaching, my senses of smell and taste became lost and entwined in a melon fog and swirled by apple breezes. OK, so i was on one. even so, the service and quality at sunshine coast are indeed top shelf, as is the very cool staff. I went here recently while visiting San Francisco. I have been to plenty of hookah bars and smoked plenty of hookah with different friends' hookahs, and I can honestly say this is the best hookah I have ever smoked. The hookah my friend and I smoked was extremely smooth, and the shisha was mixed very well. Not only was the hookah great, the owner is great. He is extremely friendly --- but not the bullshit type. He is easy to talk to and intelligent on smoking hookah. He is very personable and I would recommend this hookah bar as the best in San Fran --- by a long shot. read more

Best head shop I've ever been to. After going down Haight and seeing nearly the exact same things in 5 different shops, it really made my day to walk into this place. I was impressed by the large selection of glass and other random cool stuff, plus the atmosphere made by all the local art. The owner was super chill and friendly; let me take a seat and smoke a bit of shisha, and showed me some great music. The shisha selection itself is the best I've ever seen - this is definitely the place for all your hookah needs. Will definitely go back next time I'm in the bay area. read more

I have never been a big fan of hookah. But this place is a great place to relax with your friends. The staff is very polite. They come to check up on you to make sure that your hookah pipe is functioning correctly. I've been to other hookah joints, but I have never been to a place that has so many flavors. It's not very expensive and it's a change from coffee shops or local bars. Music is played in the background, but you're still able to have a conversation with your friends. The seats are comfortable and overall the atomosphere is cozy and chill. read more

They spend the time to help you select the right product without being pushy and stearing you in the wrong direction. Spends time explaining how to properly use the product. That is real customer service. Obviously more expensive then the internet price but, If your looking for help choosing the right product it is well worth the time and money. Getting the wrong product and killing your experience is not worth it. Get help with a real pro. read more

Awesome people that work there! My buddies and I like to go in and hang out on thursdays after class because it's a good place to just relax and talk. The shisha they have available is very delectable and smooth! It's also very cheap too, 15 dollars for 3 people you can't pass it up! This place it top notch. They only carry the best brands and glass pieces that will last a life time. I still remember my first time coming here to by a glass pipe. To prove he only carries pieces that will last, he grabbed the glass pipe I wanted to buy and dropped it a good 4 feet onto the ground. Me and my girl used to go here just to buy tobacco and chat up the dudes behind the counter (they're hella cute!) but ever since they opened their hookah bar it's the place to be! This place is by far one of the top 3 best beer bars in the San Francisco, period. Hands down the most awesome, friendly staff. Great food, plenty of room, and the beer...what else! It was a lot of fun. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was cool. It was my first time at a hookah bar, so I wasn't really sure what to expect. Great shisha for their unique hookahs, high quality glass with fair prices, and expert glass repair. nobody wrote it in a review, but if you have some glass with a clean break, they can probably fix it. i went in to get a diffuser bent to fit my new bong right, and the owner justin fixed me up right. read more
