Sunshine Kitchen is a hidden gem that instantly feels honest, unpretentious, and full of flavor. The moment you walk in, the vibe hits -- comfy booths, friendly staff, and a kitchen that smells like something good is always cooking. Between the sushi-grade fish for the poke bowls and the steaming ramen broths, this spot wraps fresh ingredients and heart into every dish.

    Beef bitter larb tiger style.

This is a late review, but I'm finally getting around to writing it. I was craving raw bitter larb and heard about this new spot that opened earlier this past summer, so I decided to give it a try. I placed a phone order for larb and a nava (three-color drink). The presentation and packaging of the larb looked very appealing. Unfortunately, once I got home and took my first bite, it was disappointing. The larb lacked flavor and had an off taste, almost as if it had just come out of a greased grinder. There was a noticeable machinery-like smell with an unpleasant aftertaste. As for the nava, it had way too much ice and very little of the actual dessert. On a positive note, the customer service was excellent. It's a mom-and-pop establishment, and the family running it was very friendly and welcoming. I'm unsure if I would return, but given the many positive reviews, I might consider giving it another chance. It's possible my visit coincided with the early stages of new management, and improvements may have been made since then. Two stars for the friendly customer service.

Lovely service! Food was great and he even gave me a free soda. Clean interior and bathroom was clean too. A good place and has a good spread of southeast asian food. My fav item was the eggrolls.

    Angel wings

I didn't realize this place was here! I got the angel wings and they were fantastic. The staff were super friendly. The online ordering is awesome as well and allows you to do all modifications. I can't wait to try more thing from here!

New spot on Eleanor with a lot of menu items to choose from. We will be back for more. Kao piak was delicious, a bit on the sweeter side that I'm not quite used to. I had to tone it down with some lime. I wish they didn't put the sugar in their broth & allow the customers to do so according to taste preference. I rated a 9 because they are not stingy with their meat ratio & the noodles for perfect.

Pho, papaya, egg roll, angel wings, and rice

Friendly and great customer service. Papaya is delicious 10/10 for me :) The pho is yummy, the eggroll is a no go! The stuffing is very little and the wrap is like double wrap, I hope they can stuff more , honestly looks like someone forgot to stuff it more or it just comes like that ......it's more like egg roll wrap with a taste of stuffing only! The angel wing was bomb. Please do BETTER ON EGG ROLLS!

    Papaya Salad

Place doesn't look like they have good food but the papaya is good. I haven't had papaya like this in a long time, a must try!

They will buzz your buzzer and you pick up at the designated window. The service was quick - we got our food within 5 minutes of ordering. There are self-served condiments table on the right side of the pick up window. You can load as much condiments as you like. They have pickled mustard greens, pickled long beans, bamboo shoots, roasted soy bean, roasted peanuts, scallions, cilantro, and hot sauces. - A1 Guilin Rice Noodle: the noodle was very soft (but a bit too soft for me). The meat pieces were tender and good. The crackling pork pieces were super crispy and gave a nice texture to the dish. - A10 Braised Pork Dry Tossed Noodle: the curly noodle was firmer type than A1 and had a bit of chew (which was similar to instant noodle) and I prefer this. The braised pork was flavorful and delicious! - B11 Preserved Duck Egg with Tofu: the tofu was soft and was a good combo with the preserved duck egg. The egg itself didn't have very strong taste so it was very pleasant. The spicy sauce was mild for me but the overall dish was good. - C1 Old Gui Lin Boba Milk Tea (less sugar): good and milky. The less sugar version was the perfect sweetness for us. The boba pieces were chewy and good.

Interior is somewhat dimly lit. They have tables off to one side of the restaurant, with a lot of space being taken up by the worker / behind the counter area. I had the Beef Brisket Rice Noodle Soup. The meat isn't the type of meat I like (lots of tendon/cartilage), but it has good flavor. I really did not like the pork in the Pork Rib Rice Noodle Soup. It was super tough! I did enjoy the flavor of the soups though. It seemed like the broth was high fat content. I really liked the self-serve condiment bar. This was one of the highlights for me. I'll be a returning customer.

Service was fast as well! I've eaten at a few popular Thai places in Sacramento and have to say, this place is in my top 3! Their mango sticky rice is SUPER GOOD too. We'll definitely be back to Baan Noodles and Rice!

When they came out to bring us water they asked us to move in case a "big party" came they would have no where else to sit, so we moved (they couldve seated us in the first place and no big party came..). Anyways, ordered the yum woonsen, pork drunken noodle and the khao soi. All were 15.95 each. First glance, portion differences was crazy. The drunken noodle plate was so BIG, then compared to the yum woonsen and khao soo those were soo small. I wanna say their stir fried dishes r big portions and everything else is small ig. Flavor of yum woonsen was pretty good, i usually like the sauce, two shrimps. Drunken noodle not bad, noodles r cut rly big lol and bit mushy decent flavor. Overall wouldnt come back, would rather go to saivaree (sister restaurant) which gives better portions and i believe their pricing is cheaper/same.

This had the perfect balance of sweetness. It was light and refreshing and balanced the rest of the flavors of the meal. I started with the seaweed salad. It was a solid seaweed salad. Good seasoning and texture. It was a good portion size as well. Melissa and Jonathan had the gyoza. They were stuffed full of meat, but I felt like the seasoning was a little less than and also they were unevenly cooked. I still tried one though because a gyoza is a gyoza. As my main, I had the karamiso ramen with a spicy miso based broth with seasoned ground chicken, veggies and chili threads for an extra kick. I enjoyed this bowl of ramen. It was the perfect level of spice. I am partial to ground meat in ramen, so I liked that this was an option. The veggies were cooked al dente which I appreciated, and the broth was filling and flavorful. The noodles were thin which is my favorite type. Attentive service here. I got the Karamiso ramen, the spice level was okay, but upon tasting the broth, you get a rich flavorful punch of pork flavor with sourness. I like the richness of the broth and sour flavors so I was drawn to it. My wife got the Aka Red Tonkotsu ramen, the broth was definitely lighter, and the spice level was abut the same as the one I got. The portions were generous, we were not able to finish our ramens unfortunately. But I must say, for the price, it's worth it. I would like to go back and try their tan tan men.

There is a good amt of seating but let me tell you, it fills up FAST. The menu is EXPANSIVE with tons of options for omnivores and vegetarians alike. I will admit the impossible siu mai grabbed my attention pretty fast because I had never seen a vegetarian siu mai before sooo we had to order it. My friends shared the pork xlbs and we got the garlic green beans and the garlic noodles to share as well! Honestly, it was like being in a flow state between the garlic noodz and the green beans alone; highkey could eat multiple plates of just those two back to back to back l o l The siu mai was also delish but the other two dishes were somehow better. The soy/vinegar and chili oil they give for dipping is so good and hits that perfect note between salty/tangy/spicy. Prices are fair for the quality and I would love to go back and try more of their vegetarian options! I appreciate that this a spot that both vegetarians and their omnivore friends can go~ Have to go back to try their desserts including the egg tarts that sold out!
