Not one to leave a claim like that unvalidated, I had to give it a try. Since I came for chicken, I ordered the Fried Chicken, Petaluma half bird, infused maple, Szechuan peppercorn, orange and rosemary. While this is not traditional southern fried chicken, its a marvelous fusion of flavors on the moistest chicken breast I have had in a very long time! The flavor profile is so well executed that the various components surface to your senses on a seeming time-release so you taste them at different times during the bite, leaving you with a hint of orange lingering into the next bite. I'm impressed! The staff are some of the friendliest I have met at a restaurant and they are very proud of their menu offerings. A very nice young man, Sam, came to inquire how I was enjoying my meal, as if the growing pile of very clean bones were not enough. Despite him preparing to leave his shift, he took the time to tell me about the special spicy chicken coconut broth they only serve on Saturdays, and even made a special effort to bring me a sample! Let's just say, I will be back on a Saturday! The number of menu offerings is not extensive but, from the dishes I saw on other tables, the portions are generous and look quite appetizing. The server was quick to guide and offer suggestions but I knew what I wanted. I ordered the rice bowl. Brown rice with the tomatoes and pork belly with the hot sauce. The food came out quick, and boy was the portion generous. The pork belly was packed with flavor though I wish there were more fatty pieces. Either way won't complain about it as it was more than enough to satisfy my hunger. The veggies were cooked nicely, seasoned well. Maybe a bit too seasoned but it didn't ruin the meal. Love the hot sauce. Nice kick. Surprisingly my group cleaned out their Orion beer. We spent a good two hours hanging out. Workers even gave us the last beer for free since we drank a lot. Since I'll be in the area more often, I think this place will become my new watering hole. I want to try their ramen and other proteins.

The poke bowl is $15 and comes with rice with furikake as well as a good portion of poke. Like I mentioned, it's preseasoned and it delicious. The ingredients are fresh and I love their flavor combination. I would love if the bowl came with a scoop of mac salad, but with the portion at this price I'm happy to add it as a side. I ordered the spring rolls ($4) and it came with five pieces of crispy and flavorful fried spring rolls. Great value for the price. I also ordered the pork laulau ($14) and Musubi ($3) for my husband and the portions on these were also great. The musubi was hot and flavorful and they gave me some FOB sauce with the musubi that went surprising well together. The laulau plate had mac salad, rice, and the wrapped pork. The pork was fattier than some of the laulau I've had in Hawaii, but was flavorful and the whole plate was a perfect portion for the price. The team working here was very friendly and helped me get in and out with my to-go order pretty quickly. The food was packed with care and made it home and was still nice and hot after the drive. They use high quality to-go containers and line them with aluminum foil which is a nice touch. They also made sure the vents were open on the spring rolls so they'd stay crispy. They have plenty of seating inside, as well as some outdoor seating. This restaurant is a bit tucked away, but has plenty of parking. After reading reviews and complaints about this place only accepting CASH???... Just ridiculous, there are plenty of hole in the wall restaurants out there that only accept cash. And for great food like this place, i will gladly pay cash. I had an opportunity to eat here with my gf, and we were very satisfied. Pulling into the parking lot was a little shady, but i grew up in the ghetto so it wasn't a problem at all. Upon entering i was very surprised by how clean the place was. My only complaint will have to be, not having AC. I ordered the papaya salad, kao poon w/blood, my gf had the kao peuk w/blood. Absolutely great! We took the Rad Nah to go, i should have eaten it there! haha... it leaked out of the box and was a bag of mess. but, the service was great and We will definitely be back! And in the meantime, I had even been to Buffalo a couple of times to compare Asian Cafe with that other place, in Buffalo, where they claim buffalo wings were invented. How does Asian Cafe do on the comparison? Quite well, in my opinion. Asian Cafe wings seem not to be greasy.. the fries and potato wedges are crisper...good salad. Plus Asian Cafe seems like a well-run operation with quick and friendly service. Four stars is as much as a wings joint can get in my books, and Asian Cafe is my go-to place for wings. This place is a hit or miss.. most of the time its good.. there were a few times the papaya salad was a bit off, but I still had other food that kept me happy. Usually when I go here I order a lot of different foods and share with everyone. The pho here is delicious and I love it because the bowl is not too big. Its a bit big but not where I feel like I have to stuff myself. Also the pad thai here good as well. I would recommend this place to my friends and family. Of course they get 4 stars only because the hit or miss and like I said most of the time the papaya salad IS GOOD. read more

The chef and servers was sweating likes dog so I walked out with my family I was like wtf is this. The service is speedy and they pretty much make your food in front of you, almost like Chipotle or Panda Express. I like to frequent this spot on my lunch breaks whenever I feel like going for a walk. Definitely has that small business mom and pop shop charm to it. In addition, I ordered pork egg foo young and salt and pepper chicken wings. As I was driving home, I snuck one of the chicken wings and ate it while I was stopped at a stoplight. It was delicious so I had high hopes about everything else I ordered. When I got home, I dished out everything for my partner and I. Again, the chicken wings were incredible and delicious. The pork fried rice was very good. The egg foo young was odd looking due to the yellow gravy, but the texture of the omelette was good, overall though it wasn't very good. The sweet-and-sour pork, though was where the problem arose. First, the pork was very tough and chewy like it was old. It also had a lot of gristle in it. The sauce had a very strange flavor and was very very dark. We each ate a couple pieces of sweet-and-sour pork and decided that something wasn't right about it. About two hours later, I was throwing up. About an hour later, my partner started throwing up. He ended up having severe stomach and abdominal pain. After about three hours of him heaving, I took him to the emergency room at Sutter. They did bloodwork on us both. My partner ended up having to have an IV because he was so dehydrated. I was basically fine. He tested positive for a foodborne illness. After 3 1/2 hours in the emergency room, he was finally released with a prescription. I was told to rest, drink lots of water and eat only bland foods. When I got home, I tossed all the remaining food in the garbage which was a lot of food over $40 worth of food tossed in the garbage. It took my partner two additional days to get back to normal. Never ever returning!!!

I used to get lunch there prior to COVID, and they were okay then. I used to order their rice…read morenoodles and salt and pepper chicken, which was cooked nicely and tender and you could see the salt and pepper. Now that we are back in the office, I decided to get lunch there today. I ordered a two-entree combination plate of sweet and sour pork, salt and pepper chicken and rice noodles, because I remember how good they were. She said okay and placed the order. What I received, however, was chow mein that is made with noodles that taste like top ramen. The sweet and sour pork is cooked dry and crunchy and lacks both flavor and sweetness, and the salt and pepper chicken is cooked hard, dry and also flavorless. Tastes like they forgot to add the salt and pepper. The entrees definitely do not look or taste the way they used to. Let me back up... I didn't see the chow mein until I got back to my desk, at which point I packaged the meal back up and walked back over to the restaurant (sure did) because I wanted what I paid for. The lady took my meal to the back, and a man who I assume is the cook came out and asked me about the rice noodle like he didn't understand why I requested it. I pointed out to him where it shows "rice noodles" as an option on the huge wall menu. He said they no longer make it and asked if I wanted a little more chow mein. At that point I was irritated and took my food and left. I won't cause a scene demanding a refund; I just will NEVER eat there again. That's what I get for not bringing my lunch. Lesson learned!
