The language barrier is a bit rough, when the owner/techs doesn't understand what a customer is explaining and gets upset and becomes rude. The other issue is what's up with just offering lotion instead of massage the customers hands like every other nail salon. Before they would even massage your back after finishing your nails while drying. This salon has lost its ability to stand out. The only good thing is that it's close to home.

My personal favorite is the powder because of how long they last, and my nails almost never break when I have it on. However all three were done well and lasted as long as you'd expect them to. My personal favorite part of the trip is my pedicure. They have a basic pedicure, but I always end up going for one of the spa options. They have a ton of different options to fit your personal preference, but I usually go for the aromatherapy pedicure. It includes a 10 minute leg and foot massage. I tried gel polish for my pedicure for the first time today, and I can say I'm a fan. I'm hoping it'll last even longer than my usual pedicure polish. Every part of my trip is always relaxing, and has me looking forward to my excuse to pamper myself.

I recently visited my friend in Staten Island and we both decided to get nails done. We simply Googled the nearby nail salon and found Sunshine Nail Salon. They gave us a warm welcome once we walked in. Although we didn't have an appointment, we were lucky enough to get served quickly. We chose power-dip manicure and the ladies did an amazing job. Plus, we feel safety coming to Sunshine because everyone here wears a mask and they clean the space after a customer left. We will definitely be back soon. read more

Fast forward cutting and prepping I asked her to file my nails evenly she begins to cut down all my nails and file sideways so now a few of my toe nails are slanted.. Fast forward again to the design I asked for flames she gave me what looked like grass blades I was hesitant but she said it's the best she could do! So reluctantly I said ok, she proceeds to do all the nails BLACK! I asked if she was going I add the powder she said oh you want silver 15$ extra I said " just to rub powder on my toes?" I would like for you to re-do the design then, because I don't wanna pay extra for something I'm going to pay to change again. She said she can't! I said so I'm not paying for the design. The whole team got up and proceeded to speak in there language and assure me I had to pay because she did her job. I said I'll pay a regular manicure but I'm not paying design and chrome powder she can remove it if she would like. Two ladies proceed to tell me to calm down ( as I'm crying might I add) because now everyone is yelling and no one is understanding what I'm asking. Pregnancy hormones through the roof and she proceeds to shave the design off. In which I asked so how much? She said 62$ I said absolutely not, we go back & forth and be points at a price list, normally I'm verbally told the price because the price list never matches what I'm told. So I explain that's not always accurate she then raises her voice to speak her language to then have someone come over to me and tap my shoulder and told me AGAIN to calm down, as I cannot I'm already crying trying to explain myself AND IM PREGNANT!!!! So the other associate begins to yell & I just shut down too many people talking to me at once, after she's done shaving both my big toes and reapplying clear polish. She goes we are done, clearing up my face I step out for air and to grab my cash because now I don't want to pay card just in case they try to adjust the price as they have done before ! I come back from my car which was in the lot parked infront of the Papa John's the gate was closed. I came back Sunday 4/20/25 and they were closed so I came BACK 4/21/25 so I may apologize to the lady for my hormones and walking out as well as pay for her services and tip. Everyone AGAIN proceeds from the moment I walk through to speak their language and explain the story I waited and asked if I could speak to the lady they was talking about to apologize and pay..... The only MALE manager asks me what happens sat. I begin to explain when he cuts me off before I could finish my FIRST sentence to say; well you don't like design you no pay so go somewhere else we will not service you! I try to explain I DONT WANT ANOTHER SERVICE I WANT TO PAY AND APOLOGIZE TO THE LADY. Her work was satisfying (but not as detailed as she was for my last manicure). The nail shape and feel was what I wanted and came out similarly to how she did it last time. I loved with how it came out in the video - before the gel polish. The color is asked for is a little off. Came out more pink than the nude I wanted. The pedicure color is different, and is the actual color that I wanted. You can tell the color is different. 4 stars for this instead of 5, would still come back but hopefully the color I pick next time is more accurate.

The girl who was doing my pedicure seemed new and it took very long which was fine by me but I noticed she painted my nails before putting my sandals back on, luckily when I put them on they didn't smudge. My mom finished her pedicure first and was waiting for a manicure, once my pedicure was done they asked me to come to the manicure chair and I explained it was my mom who was getting the manicure, not me, so they had my mom waiting for probably 15 minutes because there was a misunderstanding about who was getting what. Finally, once they started my mom's gel manicure they rushed and it seemed that the polish didn't cure properly because her thumb nail got scuffed when getting into the car which doesn't typically happen with gel. Overall my experience here wasn't bad, however I didn't appreciate that my mother's gel manicure was rushed because of a misunderstanding on their part.
