Moved to Broomfield a few months ago and was just looking for a place close to home for a basic mani/pedi. Costs were competitive for the local area. My nail tech, Nancy, was good and a sweet person. We had a pleasant conversation (both in English and Vietnamese). The experience overall wasn't anything to brag about. It was very routine for a nail shop (using plastic liners to cover the pedicure tub and new tools for each customer). I don't get my fingers or toes painted so I cannot comment on that aspect of their services. I gave them 3 stars because I'm just more sensitive to the work environment of the techs than other customers may perceive as a Vietnamese American. The male manager is very much a stereotypical 'macho' boss, dictating to his employees what to do. When I came in as a walk-in, I thought for a second he literally told a lady to work on me while she was in the middle of her break. There were instances where I thought he could easily step in and help the staff, but elected to sit there and do something on his phone instead. I believe the other customers who were there at the same time as me, enjoyed their services and were pleased with the outcome. read more

We went to Sunshine for over a year and each three of us had our favorite tech's. I would get dips and they always always chipped within 2 weeks. When I would ask why I was always told it must be something Im doing wrong. We also were turned off when if someones drill hit the skin we'd yelp and the techs acted like its ok !! Walked in and was served right away. On a Tuesday in July at 10 am they had people waiting to receive customers. My nail tech was super sweet and thorough. She massaged my legs for at least 15 minutes, I went with the deluxe service which was the mid range price. My feet were pretty gross but she was professional and gentle enough that my feet didn't get ticklish, though she worked my feet to a soft, smooth, hydrated finish. Highly recommend. read more

This is the second time in the last two months that my pedicure started peeling after two days & gel manicure after three days and lifting by the cuticles b/c they have no clue what they are doing. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYBODY. I came here twice (the second time to give them another chance) the first time I was in no way satisfied. The shape was awful and the price was a joke for the service I got. The second time around my nails were not prepped for acrylic and the very next day one of my nails broke. I went in and they fixed it without a problem. On the third day TWO more nails broke off. I was able to pull the rest of my nails off with no damage or pain because they were snapping right off. read more

I get a new dip manicure probably every 10-18 days. I developed this habit when lived in Brooklyn for three years. When I moved to Colorado, I was nervous I would not find the same level of nail care. Let me tell you ... I love this spot. I have been coming here for over a year. It's quality service, good price, great customer service. I have never had a bad manicure - the staff is always kind, has gotten to know me, and remembers my preferences and taste. I even moved to Boulder three months ago and still make the drive down to Sunshine nails for my appointments because I don't want to go anywhere else. I feel like I have to save people from this place. We came in for a mani/pedi prebooked appointment, sat in the massage chairs for 30 minutes waiting for someone to free up because they were so understaffed, then rushed through the worst pedicure and manicure. I posted a photo of my nails which were filed with the roughest nail file available - the one I believe you're supposed to only use on acrylics. My cuticles look a dried up mess. My mom who was with me was equally disappointed. Look, the reality is that for most of us getting our hair cut and nails done are those little pleasures we invest into to break away from being burnt out and overworked. So when it's a disappointing experience, it feels extra disappointing. And there is no redoing that. read more

Designs and service was great, I came to this salon after some bad experiences at another salon, and I definitely enjoyed myself more here. However, the random up charges that are made did catch me by surprise. The board listed that a full acrylic set was $40, and that any designs could cost $5+. I got a design on one finger on each hand and was charged $60. I felt that this was a bit much considering the set was fairly simple. My friend only got a rebase, no designs, and was also charged $60. Pricing seems to be pulled out of nowhere and not strictly decided upon. Still a great service, but the prices are not as they seem. read more

I came here the other day with a couple of my sisters and it was my first time. They have been here before and they've shared that Tammy does a great job on pedicures. I initially asked if Tammy would be working and the gentleman who took my reservation said she would be. But when we went to the salon, Tammy didn't stay to do any of our nails but instead she left. We booked our appointment at 5 pm but we were running a little behind, so I called to let them know and the gentleman who picked up told me it was OK in a very welcoming way. When we got there, the place was almost empty and the ceiling had been leaking. We thought it was just a slow day since the weather got rainy and such, but then after we picked our colors and sat down to do our pedicures. They started to rush us. One of my sisters had planned to also do a manicure and she requested for the dip nails. She's never had it done before so she wanted to try it. They told her it would be $35. I decided to get dip nails too so I can try them out as well. So while we were getting our feet done by the ladies, another gentleman started working on my sisters nails. I thought it was odd but I just figured he was prepping her nails to do later when her pedicure gets finished. But instead he did the whole dip nail procedure on her while she was in her chair. This basically tells you that they wanted us in and out, and rushed everything without providing us full service. Overall, the experience there was horrible and they pretended to make themselves seem very welcoming when in fact they were not very friendly at all. read more

Unsanitary. This place gave me the only toe infection from a pedicure in my life and I have been getting pedicures for 20 years. I got a Pedi back in May and my toe is STILL healing and the nail has now completely fallen off. I had to go on 10 days of antibiotics and have my nasty toe drained multiple times.
