Especially when the establishment is being trusted to handle high value and sentimental items. This is unfortunately what we experienced at Crestwood Shoe Repair. The lack of communication and care for my shoes was not acceptable and truly upsetting. The condition in which I got my shoes back was horrific and the worst part is that the employee who was assisting me made it his mission to hide the condition when handing back my item. What I have experienced makes me question the "skills" & "customer service" that so many of the positive reviews mentioned and I strongly encourage you to take your items elsewhere if you care about them.

I do not have a lot of money, and after wanting this pair for years, I finally saved up and bought them for my graduation. Because of that, I was extremely careful with them and trusted they would be handled professionally. When I went to pick them up, I was informed that they were unable to install the protector because the glue would not adhere to the sole. The frustrating part is that I had explained multiple times the day before that the shoes had leather soles, not rubber soles. At first glance, I was relieved because the shoes did not appear damaged in the store, partly because the damaged areas were being covered with their hands. However, once I got back to my car and inspected them more closely, I realized both soles had been damaged. There was visible glue residue left on the shoes, multiple scuffs, and parts of the leather sole were frayed and peeling. What upset me most was the lack of communication and care throughout the situation. No one contacted me beforehand to explain there had been an issue, and when I picked them up there was no apology or attempt to clean up the damage before returning them to me. I am genuinely devastated that before I even had the chance to wear these shoes once, they were returned to me in worse condition than before I brought them in. For something that took me a long time to save for and that carried so much personal meaning, this experience was incredibly disappointing.
