I've done business with Lee's Show Repair in the past. 1. On one visit, I needed a pair of rubber shoe covers and he didn't want to sell me a pair because they would not be useful for me due to them being lite wear and I needed heavy duty or heavy wear covers. I said thank you and I took them regardless. I thought to myself, SELF! This guy is talking himself out of a sale but then again he was more about satisfying a customer. On another visit, I took my shoes in for a shine and repair, why else come to a shoe repair shop. He had my shoes looking right, he even stitched the tongue (and told me that's how it was supposed to be), without even asking me, and he charged for that service without making sure it was okay. How nice of a shoe repair salesman to spend money that's not his. I let it go because there was another customer present. This visit I asked for waxed black laces. The waxed laces help the shoe remain tied, so not only did I get a black pair, I took a brown pair also. He has various sizes in both colors. They do have shoe trees, as well and cash or card. I reached out to Haute Hamper on their website and got a call back from Scott after under an hour. He introduced himself, explained his process of dress cleaning and preservation, and gave me some preliminary pricing. We set up an appointment for pickup shortly thereafter; very painless process. About a day after the dress was picked up, he went through the pricing with me. I admit I was a bit nervous at first because of the stains that the dress had formed just from improper storage, but after he started the cleaning work, Scott was quickly able to clean the stains and got to work on the finer details. A few weeks later, we received the dress in a beautiful display box, perfectly clean and preserved. The whole process was incredibly positive and pain-free, and the price was very fair for the work he did. I also sent in 3 pairs of my favorite Cole Haan shoes to be resoled and cleaned, and his cobbler did an outstanding job. This 2004 coin purse wallet combo has seen better days, and when my wallet was rejected for repairs from the original source, I didn't want to give up on it. Paul asked me to send pictures of the damages so he could quote me properly due to the amount of work involved. We agreed on a price and even the amount I had to leave for deposit wasn't an issue. He wanted to make sure that I would trust his judgement and value his work. Paul said to give him a week and he delivered it to me in 5 days time! Be sure to always ask him what the store hours are, as he unfortunately is experiencing flood damages to his work space. How he was still able to fix this wallet for me in such dire conditions, I'll never know. He's chatty and friendly, and could use more foot traffic as this kind of work is clearly dying in the industry.
