The restaurant was pretty packed for a weekday lunch, and the service was friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the kitchen was a bit slow, and I think we simply ordered the wrong dishes. My mother ordered the chicken noodle soup with chicken broth, but it was disappointingly flavorless. Even worse, the chicken was incredibly tough. I ordered the Tom Yum noodle soup and, despite having other protein options, chose the chicken because the photo made it look delicious. Boy, was that a mistake. The chicken in my dish wasn't quite as tough as my mother's, likely because the meat was added afterward rather than cooked in the broth from the start. Still, it was far from tender. To their credit, they were extremely generous with the portion of meat, but my mother's chicken was tough as nails. I'm giving this place three stars because I genuinely think our choices didn't showcase the restaurant at its best. A couple of days later, I ordered the duck salad and drunken noodles for takeout, and both dishes were actually quite good. I was at this excellent Thai restaurant a good while ago with a small group of people after a long walk with ShoreWalkers. Our group was quite hungry as we had just walked maybe 14-16 or so miles, and I looked up the local spots around where we finished, and this lovely place popped up. We arrived pretty early for lunch, and there was already a handful of people here, but by the time we left, it was crowded. The inside has a nice design, almost reminding me of the old markets in Bangkok back when I was there. The female server we had was very friendly, giving recommendations to the people in our group who were less familiar with Thai food or helping them decide between dishes. I will note, though, that we were unaware of the lunch menu until post-meal, but that was fine with me as I left happily full. While I only had one dish and a bite of an appetizer, I would definitely go back here, and I wish it were closer, as I found this spot a gem among the many Thai spots. Someone else ordered the Curry Puffs for $10, with homemade puff pastry, ground chicken, potato, and onion with cucumber relish, as an appetizer. The dish arrived with three puffs, and I had a tiny bit of one of the parts as I wasn't sharing this dish. From the little I tasted, the puff was standard, but good, with a lightly spiced filling. The cucumber relish was slightly sweet as expected. The presentation was also nice, as there was a piece of watermelon radish as well as some sliced carrots. My main dish was the $16 Sukhothai Spicy Pork Noodle Soup with thin rice noodles, handmade pork meatballs, roasted pork, long beans, bean sprouts, peanuts, dried shrimp, and boiled egg. The dish arrived with a cracker with their logo on it, which was a fun touch, though it was soon dipped into the broth. The broth was slightly rich and quite porky as expected, and was mildly spicy. As per many other traditional Thai spots, though, they gave the usual mix of chilies and chili sauces, so soon, the spice was to my liking. The pork meatballs had a bit of bounce, and the roasted pork had good flavor. The rest of the vegetables and peanuts added a good crunch. The noodles were plentiful, and while I prefer egg noodles or thicker rice noodles found in other Thai soups, as they grab onto the broth better, they worked here. The rest of the people enjoyed their more generic dishes, ranging from green curries to Pad Thai to Pad Kee Mao/drunken noodles. I wish this place were closer, as I would definitely go back. The ratings are high, but justified. read more

This meal was super flavorful and definitely hit the spot! You know a place is good when you are not even hungry before arriving and still eat your fill. The poke jerky was super good and I loved that it was paired with a serving of sticky rice. The pad kee mao had the perfect texture and the sweet sausage perfectly contrasted the savory dish. The noodles were nice and bouncy and it was devoured in seconds. I'm not usually a curry fan but the Green Curry had the perfect amount of heat and just made you want to continue eating. My favorite from the table was the sweet sausage pad Thai. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the lime made the noodles nice and tangy but it still had a sweet essence. I was so ready to give a five star review based on my previous visits, but today (Sunday) felt off I've been here many times with my partner and the flavors have always wow'd us. I'm not sure if they recently replaced their chef or they have a different chef working weekends, but everything tasted noticeably different in a bad way. For the shrimp dumpling, they added a new seed ingredient that feels like I have plastic stuck in my teeth when chewing. The Thai iced tea had a weird roasty aftertaste. The pad see ew has pepper seasoning now (used to not) and it was very visible and not subtle at all. It overpowered the usual pad see ew that would taste sweet and pleasant. Both my partner and I agreed that everything tasted different, and we've been here more than 5 times in the past 3 months. Idk. I'll try again in the future on a weekday in case this was a fluke. I hosted a birthday party for my cousins 60th birthday. The owner is just wonderful and communicative all throughout. The staff is great here. I been here just to have dinners and has always been great. I mean the food is awesome and all is good. I went to many other places before deciding on here. I understand it's difficult to cater to 60 orders at once but in my opinion, if you're prepared to take money, you should be prepared for a large party. I usually go for their Chicken Khao Soi. Not sure if I never saw this or if this is considered one of their newer items? But they had the Short rib Khao Soi. First off for the price you pay for that rib. It is definitely a hefty rib for one. Definitely getting your value there. It would've probably been better to have eaten it there vs take out cause I'm sorry to say that the take out was a bit lack lustered. They put it in a very shallow takeout container that had little to no noodles with a pint container that was filled half way. I didn't know if it was the uber driver that drank it or what!? Granted. I get why they did it cause it fits perfectly in the takeout. As tender as the rib was I felt like it had no flavor vs the half pint soup i got that was overly salted. I sadly wasn't able to enjoy it. I had to go home and alter a bit to make it edible. I threw the rib back in the pot with the soup given with extra water and coconut cream to counter the saltiness of the soup. With a dash of lime at the end. This place is one of those go-to comfort places for me. One of the reasons is they have an awesome tom yum soup and I'd say it's my favorite tom yum soup in all of Queens so far.
