    Crab Fried Rice
    Shirley L.

Came by Siam Thai for a large group(13 people) dinner. The hostess was nice and we were seated for our reservation time right on time (Saturday at 6:30pm). The food was overall good, I enjoyed the appetizers, my main entree (crab fried rice) was as a bit too salty to my liking. The dishes came out at a timely matter. What I didn't like was we brought a cake and without confirming that everyone was finish with their meal or communicating with us before they brought out the cake. So it was a mess because some people were still eating. It felt like they were rushing us out even though they weren't closing or there wasn't other tables waiting. Maybe the experience would be better with a smaller group. I would consider coming back in the future if I'm nearby and is craving Thai food.

Authentic Thai restaurant. Amazing food. Would definitely come again and try other dishes.

Tomahawk short rib massaman curry stood out to me the most. The curry spicy flavor and coconut was well balanced, and the short rib was so tender. Basil crispy pork belly was flavorful too, with the saltiness from fish sauce and a little bit of spice from the peppers. I personally think the beef boat noodles and crab fried rice are a little bit too salty for me, but my friends love it. The beef boat noodles have a generous amount of beef as well. Service was good, they kept coming over to refill water for us, give us extra plates and bowls and utensils to share.

I had an amazing dinner experience here yesterday. This was my second time here and each time is amazing. I told my girlfriends we need to come here more often. We had a reservation for four of us, it got busy as we were eating so I do recommend making a reservation. The interior is beautiful. I forgot I was in Queens. The bathrooms are very nice as well, which is important to me. The service is very efficient and the staff is kind. We started with the chinese broccoli and calamari. Both were great. I loved the sauce that came with the calamari. The chinese broccoli was cooked very well. I ordered the pad see ew with ribeye and it's my favorite dish. Portions were huge. My friend had the pineapple fried rice with shrimp and it is served in a pineapple! Very cool. My boyfriend got the fried rice with ribeye which he enjoyed. My other friend got pad kra pao I think, but she loved her food too. We ended with the mango sticky rice sundae, which we really liked! Definitely a great place for girls night or a date night! We'll be back!

Stop by for some great Thai food! The Money Bags appetizer was delicious, and the Short Rib Curry was cooked to perfection. The drinks were beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. The service was excellent from start to finish, making for a wonderful dining experience. The restaurant also has a great atmosphere for taking social media-worthy photos. Highly recommend checking it out

Such a great place! The interior is so cute and it is perfect for larger groups or even a more intimate meal. The service is always excellent, and the food is consistently delicious. Food is always flavorful and fresh. I highly recommend.

Food: 5/5 We got the Chive Cakes ($9 HH), Market Oysters ($9 HH), Moneybag Dumplings ($9 HH), and Tomahawk Short Rib Massaman Curry ($48). The chive cakes and moneybag dumplings were the best I've had from any Thai restaurant. I get the moneybag from Siam Thai every time. The tomahawk short rib was massive! It comes with roti bread and you definitely need an order of jasmine rice to go with the curry. This is a must try to share. Service: 5/5 The service was amazing! Pond was our server and he was so accommodating. We went on a Friday night and our food came out in 2 minutes. I think this was the fastest I've had my food come out. Ambiance: 5/5 The ambiance is warm, inviting, and full of character, with decor that reflects a traditional Thai aesthetic. The space feels thoughtfully designed and comfortable, creating a relaxing dining environment that stands out from more typical casual spots. It strikes a great balance between cozy and lively, making it just as suitable for a casual meal as it is for a more special night out.

Came here recently to celebrate a friend's 30th birthday and it ended up being such a fun spot for a group dinner. We ordered a mix of dishes to share, including a whole live fish, calamari with shrimp, and pad see ew. Everything came out flavorful and fresh, and honestly the portions were great for the price. It's one of those places where you can order several dishes for the table without feeling like you overspent, which makes it perfect for a girls' lunch or dinner. One thing I really appreciated was how accommodating they were for the birthday. We brought a cake and the staff kindly cut it for us and brought out cute little plates and forks so everyone could share. Small touch, but it made the celebration feel a bit more special. The space works really well for groups, and the atmosphere is lively without being overwhelming. The only thing I'd plan ahead for is parking -- it was a bit difficult to find a spot, so getting there early definitely helps. Overall, good flavors, affordable dishes, and a great place to gather with friends for a celebration or casual night out.

Came on a Saturday without a reservation and they sat us down right away. All the staff were friendly and kind. The lychee martini was ok, kind of tasted watered down and I'm not a drinker. I was very excited for the larb tartare and it tasted soo good but it was slightly frozen. The crispy pork belly pad kra pao was EXCELLENT. It was crispy, a little spicy and saucy. The duck red curry was great too and the food server recommended eating it on top of rice like they do in Thailand instead of putting the rice in the curry. That was a nice touch! The space is beautiful, very Instagramable. Saw some bday dinners going on. This was our second time and would deff go back again !

4 stars for the food but dropping down to 3 for the service. Came for family dinner & Siam Thai is an incredibly cute restaurant! The host was really nice & hospitable but other staff members could use some serious work. Our waters were always running low, it was hard to find a waiter, and the person serving our food actually rolled his eyes when we asked what certain dishes were. With that being said, everyting we had here was delicious! I'm especially a fan of the noodles dishes which were all flavorful & generously portioned. We went a little overboard with ordering, but did have a chance to try a bunch of items. The papaya & mango salads were both tasty and well balanced, the green mussels curry was fragrant, pork belly was delish, and the sampler had a little bit of everything. We had to play sauce roulette though - we had no idea which was paired with each appetizer. The only thing I'd skip is the fried fish (fish in the garden) and the calamari. Neither was particularly memorable. Its a bit on the pricier side for thai food compared to Elmhurst, but the portions arent stingy. Parking is doable around this area.

Rainy Saturday evening and came across this cute place along Northern Blvd with a plethora of restaurants to offer. You go downstairs into a bamboo type decor and pop music playing in the background. Good for groups or a solo date. Staff is very nice. Street parking available, will be back to try other things My son ordered Hibiscus lemonade, very good and tart and I ordered the very berry mojito, I felt like it was a virgin/mock cocktail. Started with the Siam platter, skewers, moneybag wontons, chive cakes and forgot what the other item was called. Platter comes with 4 of each item and 4 different dipping sauces. For the main I ordered the fish in the garden, whole fried striped bass with the mango and cashew salad, delicious! My son got the crying tiger, ribeye steak, a little fatty, with sticky rice and the mango salad. They said the dishes were good for sharing but honestly one person can eat with a snack portion left over. Overall, food was good, presentation was decent and to my son's surprise they bought out coconut ice with a birthday candle. .

It's been a while since I've been to Siam Thai, but I recently came back to enjoy a holiday gathering with friends, and it was a great reminder of why this spot is so loved. The décor and ambiance haven't changed warm, cozy, and inviting and the food did not disappoint. We started with a few appetizers, including the money bag dumplings, which were perfectly crispy on the outside and generously filled, and the calamari, which was lightly fried, tender, and not greasy. We also ordered chicken satay, which was flavorful and paired perfectly with the peanut sauce. For our mains, we shared a variety of dishes, including the pineapple fried rice, pad see ew, Kana Moo Krob, and a seafood entrée from their winter menu. Everything was well prepared, full of flavor, and ideal for sharing family-style so we could sample a bit of everything. We ended the meal with the dessert sampler, which ended up being my favorite part of the night. The mango sticky rice was absolute perfection, and the mini coconut pudding was rich, creamy, and delicious. The only drawback was related to their brunch special, which allows you to add $20 to any entrée for 90 minutes of unlimited mimosas, sangria, or sake. Our server mentioned that everyone at the table is expected to participate. Thankfully, he made an exception since I'm pregnant and one of my friends has medical issues that prevent them from consuming alcohol. While we appreciated the flexibility, it would be helpful if the policy were more clearly communicated upfront in their marketing. Overall, the food, ambiance, and experience were wonderful. Siam Thai continues to be a solid spot for a festive meal and catching up with friends.

After trying their Staten Island location, I was hooked with this place. I have to say, the SI location is way better. Tried the creamy crab curry, money bag dumplings, zabb wings, pad kee mao and the green curry chicken. The appetizers were really good, especially the creamy crab curry with roti on the side. We did not like the pad kee mao and the curry as much. Definitely prefer the SI location in terms of taste.

My mother ordered the chicken noodle soup with chicken broth, but it was disappointingly flavorless. Even worse, the chicken was incredibly tough. I ordered the Tom Yum noodle soup and, despite having other protein options, chose the chicken because the photo made it look delicious. Boy, was that a mistake. The chicken in my dish wasn't quite as tough as my mother's, likely because the meat was added afterward rather than cooked in the broth from the start. Still, it was far from tender. To their credit, they were extremely generous with the portion of meat, but my mother's chicken was tough as nails. I'm giving this place three stars because I genuinely think our choices didn't showcase the restaurant at its best. A couple of days later, I ordered the duck salad and drunken noodles for takeout, and both dishes were actually quite good. Based on that experience, I'd definitely be willing to give them another try and explore more of the menu.

The neighborhood is quite diverse with the types of stores and cuisines for the restaurants in the area so I was not sure if it would be authentic Thai food or not. The restaurant is located on a big street where several bus lines run, but it is very easy to find parking in the residential areas nearby. I came on a Tuesday evening and was able to find free parking directly in front after 7 pm. The location is Oakland Gardens which is a perfect in between Fresh Meadows and Bayside area. My friend and I decided to come here before our movie at AMC theatres. The place is quite small and they do accept reservations so I highly recommend making one. Amongst the 6 of us, we shared 4 appetizers and we each got our own entrees. It was the perfect amount of food. For appetizers, we ordered the zaab Chicken wings (4 pieces), chicken skewers (4 sticks), curry puff (3 pieces), and the fried calamari. The zaab Chicken wings are a perfect Thai Chile lime dried rub that is so delicious! I was reluctant to order the chicken skewers, but my friend really wanted to try. I was shocked! It was on par with my favorite chicken Satay from my favorite Malay restaurant. Perfectly tender with the perfect peanut dipping sauce. The curry puff is very good as well with a perfect amount of curry spice and potatoes filling. The fried calamari was decent - no complaints! As for entrees, we all ordered something a bit different. I was in between 4 different entrees and I'm glad my friends ended up ordering some of it so I got to try. The pad Thai, pad see ew, and crab fried rice are standard with full flavors. The basil fried rice was very smokey and good. The tom yum Noodle Soup is also very flavorful with lots of char Siew type of meat and ramen type noodle. Lastly, we were all pretty stuffed but we wanted to try the mango sticky rice so we shared amongst the 6 of us. It is a seasonal item (usually summer) and the rice comes in a beautiful butterfly pea purple-blue color. The mangoes are perfectly riped with a rice crunch and coconut drizzle. It was so good! And forgot to mention - we did order the Thai iced tea and it met my expectations (especially when I asked for less milk!) The Thai iced coffee has an interesting chocolatey after taste to it. My friends liked that it was strong. Would definitely be back if I'm craving some Thai Food!

It felt like a kind of seat yourself at whatever table is empty given that the waitress (who was manning the register and taking dine in and phone orders) was quite busy. We ordered the chicken satay, chow kueh teow kway teoh and fried pearl noodles. For dine in, they also gave a kettle of tea and tea cups. There was a chef in charge of all the grilled dishes by the entrance so our chicken satay came out first. The seasoning they used on it had just the right amount of curry flavor and it was super tender too. The most tender chicken skewer I've ever had. It came with a side of peanut dipping sauce which added a nutty flavor to the chicken satay. Next came the chow keuh teow dish and we could smell the wok hei right away. This was definitely one of the favorites of the table and a must try! The star of the dish was actually the smoky wok hei flavor of the rice noodles (there were pieces of small shrimp, chicken and pork as well). The portion size of one dish is more than enough for 2 people to share. The last dish to come out were the fried pearl river noodles. They added some char siu to the noodles which added a nice flavor to the dish. It didn't have quite as strong of a wok hei flavor as the other dish but still pretty good! The pearl river noodles had the same texture as eating the tapioca balls in bubble tea. The space inside the restaurant is pretty small and any seat is fine (maybe except the one right by the door since it can get cold during winter time and the one by the register which is also next to the bathroom). I think they accept card but for these types of small mom and pop shops, it might be best to pay in cash. I'll definitely be back and have to give the bbq skate fish and one of their curry dishes a try next time!

We ordered fried noodles, a noodle soup, and Chinese spinach. The spinach was visibly old, dry, and stale -- completely inedible. The noodle soup had an off taste, as if some ingredients weren't fresh. When I flagged this to the wait staff, I was flat-out ignored. No apology, no offer to replace anything, nothing. To add insult to injury, the spinach -- the dish we couldn't eat -- was priced the same as both noodle dishes combined. That's hard to justify for a vegetable side, let alone a spoiled one. At checkout, staff pressured us to leave an 18% tip, citing their low wages. I understand tipped workers have it tough, but a tip is earned through good food and service -- neither of which we received here. I'm reporting the food quality concern to the NYC Department of Health. I'd encourage others to be cautious, especially if dining with kids.
