ouch, this place is challenging. fake laminate floors Make it really loud in rooms. However, it's affordable, easy to access and pet friendly. The stuff are really nice. Don't forget to bring some cash to tip the cleaning crew. They make very little money and often not even a living wage.

Alyna, lives here on site and is a scammer, very rude

DO NOT BOOK. This is a disgusting, horrible hotel, we booked online, and when we got there the room was nothing like advertised, so we go back to get to refund and the lady at the counter/front desk named Alyna was incredibly rude. They said I'd have to wait days for a refund. The maintenance man was walking around in the cold with a baby in a diaper and walked into the office that way, super unprofessional. They all need to be fired and they need better maintenance and cleaning. I will be filing a former complaint through Wyndham.

Not only had a hard time checking in, once finally checked in (my boyfriend had to check in under his name because i was "not at the age limit required") once in the room, Room 219 btw, the door security latch did not work, they were definitely parts from two different things, the ball was too big to slide in the latch so it didn't work. then went to wash my hands and the sink had someone's beard hair (hoping it was beard and not something else) was all over the counter top. the staff was rude and it was just an unpleasant experience overall.

    Mold /dirty grout .

I made reservations through bookings. The price per room was less compare to Near by motels. A security deposit is required to Check in . So I told clerk I would take pictures of The room before occupying. I figure this Super 8 by " Wyndham" would be descend. I was Wrong . Door latch was missing screws , mismatch Paint on walls and baseboards, clothes rack dirty ,tile Around sink dirt/mold , bathroom exhaust fan cake With black dust from years of operating, shower curtain rod rusted , mini refrigerator had damage on door , just about every motel room had dogs and the room next to me had two dogs fighting Most of the night , bed is beyond its life expectancy, Ice machine only worked on first night . All this and won't refund monies pre paid for 3rd night . Look no further, don't waste your money on the Motel. Only reason this got a star is because yelp won't allow zero stars. Spend a little more and rent a room elsewhere.

Hours and COVID pool rules, but then they said the pool was closed altogether because of COVID.

Location would be great for Receptions or large family getaways, especially if you can occupy all the rooms. No real 'food' or 'drink' amenities, so bring your own. The photos and room description was different depending on what site you looked at. There is a steep staircase to get up to the upper rooms so if stairs are an issue, book one of the downstairs rooms We had the Stafford suite and it was amazing. Nicely decorated and again, that bed was so so comfy. If you are under 5'8" you may need a step stool to get in the bed! It can be noisy with the freeway and train nearby but we weren't bothered by it. There is a huge fountain outside the window that helps. This would be a great place for a small wedding or family reunion... the whole place is inviting and cozy. I am sure the grounds are gorgeous in the spring! They do not offer breakfast so we brought some muffins and fruit and enjoyed our coffee in the parlor... you do have full use of the kitchen so If you want to cook, you can. The owners are very prompt to reply if you have questions and check in was a breeze! We will most definitely be back!

With the hotel on a hill, there are two floors with entrances. Max's Bar and Grille is on the second floor, open to the public as well. There is a functional fitness center, though no laundry service. The pool isn't heated but there is a hot tub. The pool deck is very well kept and clean. The fire pit is nice to sit by on a cold night, and the sculptures enhance the outer decor without being too much. Our room was functional and clean--no bedbugs (very important), all the faucets worked and had hot water (also important), and there were no weird smells. The room comes with a microwave, refrigerator, and kuerig. Personally, the bed was too firm for me, but those were nice pillows, and my husband and I didn't need to steal each other's pillows. We were here for three days and two nights, and I can't think of a single complaint. The stay was an absolute delight.

Upon arrival, we were given 3 key cards for one room and 2 for the other room. The grooms mom had put together a gift bag for each room so we received 2 - one for my room and one for the other room. We both left ours with the receptionist's while we went to our cars to bring our luggage up to our rooms. We forgot to grab them before we headed out for the night but assumed they would be held for us. Imagine my disappointment, when I went to go grab it later that night, that I was informed the other couple we checked in with, the girl had grabbed them. We didn't check in with a couple but we did with another female who was roomed with another female not present. Our male friend showed up as we were leaving to our cars so maybe the assumption was there but neither of them had the bags. I was told that an unknown female must have grabbed them and that one of the make receptionists thought each guest in each room was supposed to have 1 vs. 1 per room. There was only 7 left and they were for the guests checking in tomorrow. We were given the option for extra points to our account or free breakfast which we took. Food was aright but I would have eaten elsewhere had I known better. I'm knocking stars down because it was the sentimental loss of not having the bags the night prior to the wedding. I found out later that one of the groomsmen didn't get a bag so it was definitely a downer. The shower upon turning on the water had hair floating and leftover soap/shampoo was visible. I had to run the shower for a bit before going in. We were given bedding without downing at my request due to asthma and allergies and we were far from the elevator and we were on the top floor near the bride and groom and some of the groomsmen which was perfect! Convenient location with in n out down below and we were given one coupon for complimentary nonalcoholic / alcoholic beverage at Maxs restaurant.

From the second we walked up from the private parking lot to the Victorian Mansion we were warmly greeted by owner and operator Alfred.  We both felt welcomed and overwhelmed with the beauty of this home. Power's Mansion is adorned with so many antique pieces and trinkets that you might initially mistake it for a museum. Each of the rooms have a theme; we had the lighthouse room which was fully decorated in the lighthouse theme. The breakfast was hearty for travelers with tons of carbs, and I loved their quiche. Alfred sets a beautiful atmosphere with music and lighting. We were treated to outstanding hospitality! Alfred went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. His stellar recommendations to visit the iconic parks and sights in and around Auburn were greatly appreciated. Power's Mansion is over 120 years old so it's not perfect but is very charming and we would definitely go back again.

By contrast, checking at Red Lion Inn & Suites Auburn was fast and friendly. The room was larger than most comparably-priced motels. Room was clean and well-maintained. But the biggest and much appreciated surprise -- even though their website stated they had only a "continental breakfast," this was a full complimentary breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, pastries, all kinds of cereal, extras like apple sauce, yogurt and of course coffee, tea etc. The breakfast alone was a good reason to stay here. Overall, this was a great place to stay and we will be back.

( They should consider a name change for the establishment. Read to the end for my suggestion. )…read more Let me start off by saying I haven't stayed at a Red Lion in the better part of two decades. From my memory in youth they were always decent to well kept establishments. So after an impulsive trip from Reno to Sacramento one day I was headed back to Reno and decided to not drive through the mountains in the dark of night. I saw the Red Lion on the list of places to stay and decided yep that's the one. I pulled in and went to the counter. The check in process was efficient so no complaints there. I walk upstairs and down the hall a bit dazzled by the dated carpet and the random sequencing of room numbers. The sequencing is still a bit bewildering. I get to my room and none of the bedside plugs works. I ascertain that well... none of the plugs are plugged in to make the things work. I take it upon myself to rectify the issue and pull the bed away from the wall and realize why they are not plugged in. Well the outlet is only half secured into the wall. I plug it in anyways and push the bed back. Success! Plugs now work on the night stands. After I settle down I go to take a shower. I am greeted by paint peeling off the walls and dirty switch covers. I then start the shower to abysmal water pressure. This is likely because the rear of the shower head connection puts out as much water as the shower head itself. On the bright side the bed was comfortable to my liking anyways. Not a rock and just soft enough to relax into. Now allegedly there is breakfast but at this point I don't know that I even wanna risk it for the biscuit. I have already renamed this place in my mind as no longer the Red Lion but simply The Mangy Lion instead. I would recommend a revamp of The Mangy Lion to restore it to its former prominence as a Red Lion.

I like the location, especially because it is next door to Awful Annie's, which is an amazing breakfast/ brunch restaurant worth the best Bloody Mary's around! We also decided to stay here because the Annual Rib Cookoff in Auburn was the next day. After we checked into our super clean room with 2 queen beds, we went out to dinner(for our one year anniversary). When we got back to our room, the TV wouldn't connect. We phone the front desk, and the nice man that checked us in came up and fixed it for us and also pointed us to the ice machine (no ice buckets available). Our beds were comfy, sheets were clean, and pillows were fluffy. The table and rolling chair were very clean(this time). Again, they have great channels available for your needs. The next morning, you can go to their main office, but take the elevator to the next floor so you can enjoy their hot complimentary breakfast. I had an English muffin with eggs and bacon worth hot sauce & ketchup on it. They also have fruit, yogurt, muffins, and other breads available. They even have a pancake machine! We absolutely enjoyed our stay here. I do look forward to staying in Auburn again at the Rodeway Inn!
