Food Service was quick when we got there but after we were served we had to flag down the employees for a drink refill, To go boxes, and the bill. Ordered beef enchiladas with red sauce. Came either beans & rice, typical at Mexican restaurants. Service could had been a bit better, since any of the servers didn't seem to speak much English. The enchilada sauce I think was from a can, NOT freshly made!!! I'm at a Mexican restaurant, I expect freshly made sauce, not something I can open with a can opener and pour into a pan. At least add something extra to make it taste authentic. The thin thickness and taste gave that away! When I make enchiladas mine taste so much better! If you're looking for authentic, find another restaurant. Price didn't meet the authentic expectations. Even the free chips were from a bag, not freshly made. Maybe they use to have authentic taste but the quality has declined? read more

Atmosphere is good, they have music and karaoke and sometimes there's a grupo playing. The grupo does charge to play per song I believe. The food is average. The beans are the kind you buy at Northgate that come already fried in a can. The rice is tasteless. My son had a torta and immediately got sick and ran to the restroom. The prices are also average. We tried this restaurant for the first time and I gave them a 2 stars. Here's the reason why. We ordered 2 molcajetes and they were really tasty! I'd highly recommend them. The only thing that bugged me and that's why I gave tem a 2 stars is that only two tortillas come with each molcajete. Really ???!!! Can someone please tell me or show me how to eat a molcajete that comes with cheese, asada, chicken, shrimp and nopales with just two tortillas? C'on. !!!! We couldn't do it to be honest so we ended up paying extra for more tortillas. So If you're planning to eat at this place, make sure to bring your own tortillas or pay the extra for more. A truly authentic Mexican restaurant with lots of seafood options. There's a good sized bar by the entrance, several big screen TV's throughout the place, lots of booths, and a few really long tables for big groups, which they do get a lot of here. The staff is great and the food is amazing, just like having a home cooked meal at my grandmas. The only difference is for entertainment on the weekends, they have a guy walk around singing along with a portable karaoke device. It gets loud during that time. This was my first visit here, and I very rarely have menudo so I had to go with that today. It's just a tad on the spicier side from what I'm used to, but just as delicious and flavorful as it's supposed to be. This soup, along with pozole is only served on the weekends. I did have a taste of the carne asada plate and it was so good. Perfectly seasoned meat served with a mound of guacamole, rice and beans with thick homemade corn tortillas. Came here with friends for lunch. Impressed on how clean the restaurant was. The service was amazing, the waitress was very attentive and nice. I ordered the red chilaquiles with carne asada. The chilaquiles had the prefect texture of crunch and my egg was cooked perfectly (over easy). The carne asada had a good taste and was tender. My friend who got the fish tacos said they were delicious! My other friend got the Aporriada (which is shredded beef with egg) and she too enjoyed it very much. Overall great food and great atmosphere, will definitely be back!!!! read more

It's not your typical Mexican restaurant, first of all it was karaoke night so people were signing Spanish songs and it was very interesting and entertaining. Only if I could speak Spanish I would have sang a song. As for the the restaurant it has a different vibe it's more focused on a particular part to Mexico. The drinks were okay not too strong but they do give you a big amount for a good price. The chips are unlimited. As for my main dish which was an enchiladas it was pretty good. I liked how a few of the meals came with soup and the two salsas that came with the chips were really good, especially the green one! We ordered the Molcajete Paisano, the beef fajitas, two seafood dishes, and the chicken mole. We thought the molcajete was pretty spicy, but good. I really enjoyed the cactus and zucchini in that dish. So many Mexican restaurants don't add enough vegetables, so I was happy this one did! One last comment is that they do not have any diet sodas. Great flavor. They also have an avocado salsa that is great! Fajitas: The Fajitas are good and a huge portion! You could share this for sure. Healthy option with all the grilled veggies and chicken. Cons: They added an extra charge $$ when I asked for more flour tortillas. This is a huge portion of fajitas and they only gave me 2 tortillas. More should have been included. Don't upcharge customers, it's is a real turn off. No sour cream or guacamole was included or offered with the fajitas. This is something I would have been fine with being charged for. The chips seemed out of a bag. I'm used to freshly fried chips, maybe this I got an old batch? Our waitress was very poker faced. Maybe she was having a bad day, which I can understand, but I always tip extra when they are nice and friendly, even if the food is not the best. If you have been going to the Costa Azul on Fairview, Ive got some good news. This is the better Costa Azul. The service here is excellent and they have live music (not sure what days, but was there on a Sunday) I am a big fan of their refried beans and the complimentary consome and chips and salsa. One note to management, the bathrooms have a strong chemical smell that seeps out. Could probably be fixed by other cleaning products and a fan. read more

I had the 2 item lunch combo, and with tax+ tip it came to about $10. I chose 2 chicken enchilada (red sauce) and it came with rice and beans. The food was decent, and I was full all day. The beans were a bit runny, which I scooped up with the tortilla chips. My coworker had the pork chili verde, and it was good. She thought it was spicy but the piece I had was delicious.
