That is why I was surprised to come across this one while driving through Miami Beach. The North Miami Beach Skate Park is located right across the street from the beach where you will also find bike rentals and jogging trails. The park is small and set up for beginner to intermediate skateboarders. There are ramps, a pole jam, a box, a quarter pipe, an A frame, round rails, down rails, and a half pipe. This is the perfect place to practice your skills. During my visit , I enjoyed watching skaters perfect their tricks. Shade in the park is limited but there are water fountains, restrooms, and parking. This is a fun park to get in some practice, or just take in the local skateboarding scene.

My son started lessons with Mischas Fishes when he was, I think, 3 and a half years old, he was a…read more"fish" from 6 months to 3 years old and then turned afraid of the water.. we tried some other coaches and didn't get better, and when we finally got to Mischas F. we found our match! We continued lessons with them for 4 more years, and also my other son had lessons (he was 2 at the time) until we moved to another country 3 years ago. Both my kids LOVED their lessons and Michelle, till this day they remember her, she is amazing with the kids!! She is respectful of each kid's needs, loving and lots of fun, but also firm and i think is the perfect combination. Now we had to find lessons in this country for my daughter, and she had a traumatic experience with the coach. He didn't respect her times, zero idea on how to treat a toddler. I really wish we could have our Mishas Fishes's experience with her. As far as I know, Mischas Fishes is the best there is in Miami. (We tried with probably 8 more coaches before and after Mischas... no comparison) Highly recommend!!

As I walked by the shop the amazing floor art caught my attention as well as a fun little dog, Ripley, who will demand you play fetch with her (ok she won't demand but it's hard to say no to her). The owners, Raymond and Charlene, invited me inside even though the shop technically wasn't open to the public yet; a really nice gesture I had thought. Once I got inside the shop I was amazed at their inventory; which has since grown exponentially since they officially opened the shop. They have products to cater to all skill levels and to those who have limited versus unlimited budgets. I eventually ended up purchasing a full set of dive equipment, and I feel like I got a great deal as they literally customized the equipment to me, fitted it appropriately and continually ensure it's in perfect working order. I honestly think I got the same price for the equipment that you would find on an online retailer but I also get the great customer service afterwards. Win/win!! Now as I've said the shop itself is beautiful, they have great products but what really really stands out about this place is their people and the experience that they're creating. This is not a "get in and get out" type of environment. This is a neighborhood dive shop that encourages everyone to stop in, drink coffee, hang out, get to know each other, and make friends. It's a perfect environment that encourages learning because they make you so comfortable right away, and they can back up what they say as Raymond and their other instructor, Ton, are top notch guys. When I stopped in the shop I had no intention of diving more than once a month, maybe. I thought diving was fun but I wouldn't say I had a passion for it. Since then I've definitely developed a passion for it because diving/training with Wonderlost is just an unreal experience. I have since completed several advanced certificates and am working towards my Divemaster, which will be a part time career for me in the future. Ms. Jamie is kind, loving, supportive and always with the best disposition; she is truly the BEST. My daughter not only learned how to float in less than 30 classes, she was also able to get in and out of the pool safely, she was able to go around the pool by holding into the border and she was also swimming from side to side by the time she was almost one year old. This is one of Coral Springs namesake parks. This 2 acre park was dedicated to Paul Barre 1991…read more Barre was the president of the Coral Springs Rotary Club. He also owned a company called I.S.D. which employed a lot of residents in the community. There is a memorial plaque to him on the park sign. Money raised from donations was used to build the park and there are other memorial plaques on the sign from donors. Some of the plates have names and some just poignantly say mom or baby. The park is located next to a wetland preserve so it attracts a lot of birds. Park amenities include an exercise path, sand volleyball court, picnic pavilion with a table and grill, and 2 playgrounds. Coral Springs has number of neighborhood parks of this size. They don't have anything to attract outside visitors but they are a nice resource for the neighborhoods they are in. Like all of the parks in Coral Springs the playground is currently closed but I did see several people using the exercise path.

You can find this park behind the Cypress Run Townhomes. The park is divided by a road. On one side is an open space with trees and a canal where I saw some boys fishing. The main part of the park across the street has a parking lot. Park amenities include basketball court, benches, grills, open area for play, a playground, swings, picnic tables, and tennis courts. The playground is small and does not have a shade cover although it does get some shade cover from the trees. The kids I saw playing looked like they were having fun. Note that there are no restroom facilities so it is more ideal for the people who live nearby. Also dogs are not allowed.

When my daughter was in elementary school and played for the city recreation team all of her soccer meets were held here. In addition to the soccer fields there is also basketball courts, sand volleyball court, a walking/ jogging path, picnic pavilion, restrooms and a playground. Coconut Creek residents can rent the fields for a discounted rate. Prices are on the Coconut Creek city website. The lights here are great so you can play at night. On the evening I stopped by every court and field was filled. If you rent at night the fee is a little higher for use of the lights.
