I was a little nervous considering I wasn't going to be home to meet her staff the first time they ever came to my place but my doormen told me they left after 2 hours and when I came home it was like a breath of fresh air! Honest, I'm not super lazy (ok, maybe just a little bit)! I typically travel a lot for business and I've been known to throw my back out when cleaning the house so a number of years ago, I had to bite the bullet and hire a cleaning service. I found Maggie's on Craigslist and I honestly can't say enough nice things about her Super Awesome Cleaning Service. Their name is very apt as they are in fact "Super" and "Awesome!" I've been using Maggie's for about the last 5 years and I have never had such incredible service from such trustworthy people. It is a small family run operation, so you will always know the people who come to your house. When they clean, they really, really clean; my place always looks and smells fantastic when they are done - they even get my ashtrays and dishes and remember to do things like clean my ceiling fan blades! They are very, very thorough, it's fantastic to come home when they've been there. Generally, it's Maggie and an assistant (sometimes her incredibly sweet mom) and they are great about accommodating you if you need to change days or need an emergency cleaning, etc. I make sure Maggie has a set of my keys so she can always get in - I can't tell you how many times she has totally saved my ass by showing up for a last minute appointment for me! She has also gone above and beyond and checked on my cats for me when I'm out of town - seriously, who does that? Maggie is just the best! I had her come in on a weekly basis, and the rates were redonkulously reasonable; the more you have her in, the lower the rates go. I've referred her to people for move ins and move outs, so she is available for occasional or one time cleanings as well. I seriously love, love, love these guys! I can only use one word to describe Maggie and her services. AMAZING! Zac and I decided that we needed to hire a cleaning lady to keep our place immaculately clean. Yes, we're neat and organized but dread the cleaning process. We really don't want to scrub the tub, clean the kitchen cabinets, or wall trimmings. So, we researched cleaning ladies on Yelp and thanks to you fellow yelpers we were introduced to Maggie. She is our savior. Maggie visits bi-weekly, and gives our place a deep cleaning. There is nothing better than coming home from work every other Tuesday and walking into a super clean apartment. The first thing I do is run to the bathroom and just admire her work. I can see my reflection on the faucet handles. Maggie and her mom make a great team. She is extremely nice and professional. She brings her own cleaning supplies and we just provide the basics like a vacuum cleaner, etc. I know I know...How much? Well, after researching various cleaning ladies or cleaning services we found Maggie to be extremely reasonable, especially for the size of our place. Once you call her (and you should) she'll schedule a walk-through of your place to determine your needs and to review her and your expectations. As written by my wife: Maggie was "Super Awesome" at cleaning our townhouse. After reading a couple great reviews, we decided to call Maggie and give her a try. She was pretty thorough with her cleaning, and she did not leave until her work was finished. For our first time cleaning she stayed over six hours! She even re-cleaned our dining area after we made a mess feeding our two young girls. She was very courteous, pleasant, accommodating, and respectful. We stayed home the whole time she cleaned, and she was a pleasure to have around that afternoon. In addition, she brought her own supplies (except the vacuum) and used some all-natural lovely smelling products. I'm bummed! I wanted to try this cleaning service but they have been unresponsive to both internet (via the form filled out on their website) and phone messages. I tried them via the website on the 7th and then followed up with a phone message on the 13th. Crickets. I'm glad people have good luck with this service, but disappointed that my time has been wasted waiting around to hear back from them. I would have to say that having someone, especially a stranger, come into your home and clean is a very personal service. I had to have my home cleaned for a special visit and the days that I had available were limited. First off, the communication with Maggie was great. We were able to call and/or email each other and get the perfect time figured out and she was flexible which was great. Secondly, she was very attentive in scheduling and finding out what kind of cleaning I needed. Last, the cleaning. Impeccable. For what I have paid in the past for other cleaning services and the amount of time they spent in my home, Maggie beat them hands down. Also, the bonus of being able to communicate what exactly you want the focus of the cleaning to be, or which types of products you want used is a real perk. I plan to schedule Maggie for a regular cleaning once a month and will enjoy the benefits of a clean house. I highly recommend Maggie, but will offer one token of advice. She runs a small business so plan ahead and give yourself at least two to three weeks before scheduling your first appointment. Don't expect to call her a day ahead of time and expect her at your door the next day. However, do call her because nothing beats a clean house! read more

Then when her mother came, it was OK but after that , everytime, she kept calling to postpone and change the date and time. The cleaning was OK but it did not seem like a reliable service. I really, really like the people behind this service. Maggie and her team are very nice, but I am afraid, they are not great. I used them around 4 times to clean our home and kept hoping they would get better. I would ask them to do a few things, and they just weren't able to do them. Our house is not easy because we have two kids and a dog and a cat, but somehow two people were always finished in under 2 hours! That's a pretty hefty hourly rate and they just weren't able to dust every spot, move chairs (not everytime -- but sometimes would be nice) or clean throw pillows. I wanted to love them because they were always on time, and so sweet. I am not sure if they are paid by the job, but we have had people clean our home for years, and no team has every finished in under two hours. Oh well, what I can say? I tried. Still looking for a great service! Just a follow up on the comment from Maggie below. I did follow up with you and I did voice my concerns with you, and you said that perhaps it wasn't a good fit. Maggie has been cleaning my apartment for a few months now and I couldn't be happier with the work that she does. I have a one bedroom apartment in Lincoln Park that she cleans every 2 weeks for a very reasonable rate. I'm frequently home when she comes which is great because she is so friendly and a joy to be around. We always end up chatting! But, I would feel completely comfortable leaving her there alone and/or giving her a set of my keys. She is honest and sincere. When she leaves my place, my bathroom sparkles and there isn't an ounce of dust to be found! She is so thorough, she even cleans my celing fans! Maggie quickly responded to my request for a quote and came out to our house on the same day. She typically cleans condos, but brought her mother with and explained that she would be handling the cleaning of the house with one other woman. She asked if that was okay with us and we were fine with that. Her mother is as pleasant and professional as Maggie and has many years of experience cleaning. They come to our house every other week and do an exceptional job. When they finish, the house looks and smells great and you would never know we have two big dirty dogs. Maggie is truly awesome!! I decided to take the plunge and hire a cleaning service after one too many crabby Saturday mornings wasted trying to clean our condo myself. I had a bad experience with another company and decided to try Maggie based on the great reviews. I am SO happy I did! The ladies do a wonderful job. It is such a pleasure coming home Friday after work to a sparkly clean condo. I was a bit anxious about giving my keys to essentially a complete stranger, but there have been absolutely no issues and the convenience is totally worth it. Maggie is super responsive and easy to get hold of via text message or e-mail. I recently wanted to add a week (I usually have the ladies come every other week) and Maggie texted me back literally within 2 minutes letting me know that they would accommodate me. They bring all their own supplies (except a vacuum) which is really nice. I don't believe they do laundry but with all the extra free time you will have once you don't have to clean, you will have plenty of time to do that yourself! Maggie's Super Awesome Cleaning Service Rocks! So here is the story, I needed my place cleaned before and after thanksgiving as not only were my parents visiting from out of town, my in laws would also be staying with us. Maggie's first available appointment for me (I called pretty last minute) was not until after thanksgiving. So I set that appointment with her and called another cleaning service to take care of the before thanksgiving cleaning. I planned to compare them and hoped to begin a regular cleaning appointment with which ever service was better. Maggie won hands down. Her service was VERY thorough, they moved all the furniture and cleaned under everything, and on top of everything. They found dust balls that had been around since, I am sure, when we moved in. The place smells amazing and looks amazing. They were polite and attentive and very quick. I was home during both of the before and after thanksgiving cleanings, and I can promise you, Maggie's Super Awesome Cleaning was way more thorough. I certainly recommend them to anyone who wants a thorough cleaning job. The prices are very competitive and Maggie was easy to work with when setting up the appointment. I'm a super busy grad student and cleaning is a great way to avoid working on projects, so I caved and called Maggie after reading the reviews here. She came out and toured my apartment. She took the time to explain that they use all green products and that they are especially friendly for animals (I have a cat and 2 dogs). She explained that the first two times they would do more of a deep clean to get my place where they want it, which was great. Those first two times Maggie and her mom came out themselves and did a fantastic job. Maggie has a great attention to detail - I could actually tell which rooms she'd done because everything was put back exactly as I'd left it, but had obviously been cleaned, even down to the special things I have set up for my elderly cat. Since then, she has sent a couple of different teams and everything has been very clean, with the exception of one time that someone different cleaned my place. However, Maggie is very receptive and responsive to feedback, positive and negative, and when I told her of the less than stellar cleaning I'd had, she apologized and offered some extra services for the next time, which I appreciated. I'm usually not home when her girls come, but was one time when they showed up, and they were very pleasant and nice. While I usually make sure there are no dishes or anything around, on the few occasions that there have been a glass or two, they always wash them and leave them neatly on the counter, which I didn't expect them to do. While some may see having a cleaning service as an indulgence, it has been a huge help and takes one thing off my way over-full plate! read more

We have been using Maggie's team for going on two years now on a bi-weekly cleaning. They do an awesome job and leave the house just how I would clean it. I love that they do deep cleans each week. Her message said she was only taking calls for regular cleanings--I explained that's what I was looking for, gave her a description of my home and my call back number. (Did this both times.)
